WHEN I FIRST PLAYED THE ORIGIONALL DOOM GAME I WAS ONLY 4. YEAH I KNOW YOU WHERE PLAYING ELMO'S LEARNING ADVENTURE WHILE I BLEW AWAY CYBERDEMONS AND IMPS. I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS THE COOLOEST WHEN IT CAME OUT AT THE TIME IT CAME OUT I WAS INTO THE QUAKE GAMES(ALSO BY id) THE GRAPHICS WHERE A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. ME AND MY DAD PLAYED THESE GAMES FOR HOURS ON NOW DOOM 3 IS OUT I CANNOT WAIT TIL QUAKE 4!!!!

The only real interesting new feature are the great graphics

Other than that, everything else in the game is just plain BORING.

The main problem with this game is the levels; most all of them are small and enclosed. Though the other dooms had similar levels, they also had many large ones and many open spaces. Not so with Doom 64. I swear; save for the last level, there isn't 1, not even ONE level that has any large open space. Add to that the fact that the levels are pretty smal to begin with, and things just get worse.

Another problem is that the levels are too easy to beat; virtually none of them have any sort of "challenging" aspect at all. Those that do just failed to keep my interest like the older doom games.

Last, there are too few levels. I think the number comes to no more than 30.

This game also did not live up to its potential. There is only 1 new weapon (the laser). It would have been good if it weren't for the fact that its full potential can only be used in the very last level of the game. All before that, its barely better than the fist.

This game's graphics are amazing though. Its fun to run around and blast all those amazingly detailed enemies. But thats the only redeeming feature I saw, and in my opinion, its certainly not enough to save it.

Doom 64 for is good for a weekend rental at most. But if you want a quality Doom title, go for... well, virtually ANY other version of doom on ANY other system.

A good game to rent on the Weekend

Doom 64, ain't all that bad, But as for Me I wouldn't buy it. I did rent it, And I enjoyed it for the time I rented it. But, I think this would be one of them game's that get old in a week. Doom 64, is a Shooting game. But, it does not have no Multi-player mode. The are a lot of level's in the game, But one thing that I didn't like, is They all looked the same pretty much, Just with a better name. The level's looked good, And 3-D. But, everyone and Everything in them, looked like it was paper glued on. The best thing to do, Is Rent it for a week-end And, see how you like it.

This is a joke, right?

Oh dear god... What is Nintendo thinking?! This game is the worst I have ever seen. Everything is wrong. It may be a little scary when the sound warms up, but when u see the ugly miscrient that lurks around the corner it looks like a pixel blob of colors. The environments look a little cool, but the controls are all wrong. It feels like your gliding across an ice rink, which personally I don't enjoy durring shooters. There are alot of better titles out there for Nintendo 64. This one is sooooooooo bad, that you might wish to rent it for laughs with your friends. Peace

This is bad

The graphics should have had a more 3D feeling. Everytime I walked around a demon carcass it looked the same as any other. It also turned so I only saw one side of it. The guns were cool the first time I played the original Doom,10 years ago. There wasn't any plot behind the game. A blind monkey with half a brain and no arms could at least make it to the last level. The ending was very bland. Everyone who played Doom 64 is now dumber after the experience.

Stoneage graphics and gameplay

I can't honestly see why this game wasn't taken straight from the drawing board and chucked in the bin. If you want a monotonous, time-consuming, repetative and tedious waste of money with the graphics that make the Gameboy look hi-tech then this is the game for you.....but don,t say I didn't warn you !

Huh?

I've played this game and it's PC version. This one stunk if I were you get Duke Nukem 3d or wait until the new Duke Nukem comes out. The best one of all is Quake. Get one of those games. The PC version of Doom is better but by half a star. If you are looking for a female action hero get Tomb Raider or Perfect Dark. Don't even waste your time with this stupid Pixilated game.

Bad Game

I expected more from a 64 bit game? Why are the enemies still 2d? It is long and some what fun at times, which is something a lot of games lack in, but the graphics where very poor. Its ok but not recommended.

good game

To this generation doom 64 would look like the most cruddy game ever concived.but it is far better than about 95% of the games on most consoles, but this game is not without blemish.let us start out with the following....
1) the good, the graphics are spectacular for a n64 FPS the enemis are well animated as well as the levels themselves, the lighting effects are divine when there is a neon red light not only will it show on your gun but also the enemies too, there is no music but there is ambient sounds and what not,the story seems to be the same old same old but this is not bad.

now heres the bad news(this should be read by parents for there own benefit)
the bad-as you know Doom is about a group of scientist that find a martian lab
that in game terms opened a portal to hell,so guess what the scientist do
they open the portal and low and behold they let out a boat load of demons that either kill or zombifiy the people there(you'll find some of the limbs ,and such in the levels, of the unfortunate ones) and you are sent to exterminate them and close the portal. the blood/gore factor of game is not pretty, of course i have not got past the third level but if i know Doom well its not going to get any better,as for demonic/satanic i haven't found any yet but there is 100% chance you'll find some in the latter levels, thats all for now for the bad.

in conclusion i would never recommend this game to anyone and this game should be avoided at all cost!!!(even though it is a high graphics games)
