THE GREATEST

Doom 64 in my mind is the greatest FPS ever created. Its unbelievably creepy and I have played it a thousand times over and over again. None of the Bond games for Gamecube or any of the Resident Evil games (I have all the next gen systems) are as good as this.

One of my top 10!

I have a large collection of games, but Doom 64 is (without a doubt) one of my favorites! It's one of those games that's addictive. Gamers know what I mean... The kind that you think about at school or work or anywhere else and make you anxious to get home and get back to playing it! I enjoyed the other Doom games, but this one really keeps you on the edge!

Doom Returns

Doom 64 seems like another 64 new levels(Final Doom, people?)But it is very good.New Lighting Effects,Monsters from Doom and Doom 2,graphics improved, and dont let the movie at the beggening fool you. This isn't Doom or Doom 2,this is Doom 64 which is not only keeping Doom alive, but challenging Quake for the N64.

Whatever you do, don't play this game alone in the dark

I was so scred when i first played it. But i enjoyed it very much. This isn't much of your average first person shooting game, its sorta different in a way. Even if this for the n64, it's worth getting game of the year, this game is AWESOME. Even read all the other reeviews, people still play it, because how much of a good game this is.

I regret selling this game and my n64.

I remember freakin out when I got this game back when n64 was "in." The game is so awesome and is the perfection of the original DOOM series. The weapons are nicely redone, as are the demons. It's a little difficult playing a game like DOOM using a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse, but that is a small price to pay for playing a masterpiece like Doom64.

The music is just plain eerie, and the lighting and graphics are pretty good. I was also quite surprised that such a game would be on a console that *mostly* kids used, the n64. But anyways, the game is cool and you should buy it.

Quake 64 owns this

...because, for me, in this game there is too much running around going, "okay what in the @#$% am I supposed to do now?" and "Where is the little arbitrarily-placed secret opening in some wall somewhere in the map which the switch I just pressed opened? Great, now I will probably spend 5 excruciating minutes searching for the thing. meanwhile I could be playing Quake." It is too frustrating for me because these elements (switches, keys) necessary to keep the momentum in the game going seem to me to be arbitrarily located around the levels, whereas in Quake there is a "rhyme and reason" to their placement. One time as I was playing this they hid a switch behind some secret armor inside a wall, but I got the armour and missed seeing the switch because it blended in with the background color and pattern. when I finally went back and noticed it I was fuming. This game is no fun for me to play at all, indeed, quite the opposite, sir.

A disgrace to the 3D-first person world and the N64 platform

I found this game to be not only a bad attempt at remaking Quake64, but a stupid and imcompetent one. Somethimes, a dark and grainy enviorment is necessary for a creepy enviorment, but the way Doom 64 exploits it just chews up the scenery. If you're looking for an effective horror game that used lighting, music, and gameplay correctloy, get Quake 64 or Quake 2

good game !!! but the graphics some times??????????????

Doom has returned with an all-new game for the Nintendo 64. As always you are the lone soldier in space sent to annihilate goat headed monsters, imps, zombie soldiers, arch viles and spider masterminds. But new to the Doom saga are very intelligent enemies and upgraded graphics, which look smooth and not pixilated like the PC and other versions. Also new are three new weapons, to help you tear through dark creatures on your way through 30 levels. The good part is that they are action packed and challenging, the bad part is that some of the levels take you an hour to get through them. Which sets Doom 64 apart from the Quake games for N64, because in Quake it is obvious what to do... go straight and kill whatever gets in your way. With Doom you use your mind to uncover things. However, this is a stereotypical shooting game where you can only point your gun forward and you cannot jump. Fortunately in this game you will not find yourself fighting monsters on staircases, ramps or shooting at them from miles away like in the other versions of Doom. All of that being said, it is a good game, but it will not keep your interest, because of all of the extras that the PC versions had, such as making your own levels, this game does not have.

Awesome Fun

I bought this game for my son, and he loved it. I have to say that he was hooked, he even got me turned on to the game. One of the best games we have ever played. The not knowing when or what was around the next corner gave one the creeps. This was six years ago and we still love the game.
