ROTS was a very good puzzle game, for a mixture of easy and excruciatingly hard puzzles it does not disappoint... However, it drags on a little longer than a person can take, and many of the puzzles are dependant on inventory hunting (some of which is easy to find, and some that are not, like the sacred scroll, there is not clue for where it is, you just need dumb luck!) And the ending is incredibly anti-climactic for what the game built up... They could have made any ending better than a seven minute monologue! It leads into the next game yes, but I wanted a good ending for this game!!
Fun, but not quite Myst

The first game of this type I've seen where you must take the threats seriously or die and have to start from a save file, starting relatively early on.
It's like Myst compared to Riven or Exile; needs a little help with graphics, some glitches, the looking around function, and the deserted world effect. I think its optimum sytem is a win95 less than Pen3, rather than a win98 Pen3 as it became sluggish or locked on activated puzzles, or jumped ahead on occasion (I got into the River of Death early, but forgot to save it until I'd already hit the wrong bird tablet)
But a lot of historical accuracy and a fun manner of tying together many of the legends about the area. Plus you get to explore monuments you probably wouldn't be able to see that much of through the crowds and barriers if you went to the real ones.
Yeah, Yeah, OK, OK

Ummm... Ok. Don't get me wrong but this is a great game. Graphics and transitions need a lot of work but music and storyline are majorly awesome. I would only suggest this game if you don't mind slow gameplay and have about 5 hours a day free to play for oh... say the next 2 years! Try Myst and it's followups first, and play this only if you are happy with the level of your IQ.
Hint...> Print out a walkthrough. Trust me!
Kept me playing!

This game is really good. It was worth the time and energy I put into it. Flying your hellicopter to a different part of the desert was fun. Solving the puzzles were rewarding. I love the mouse controls this game has. I really felt like I was there. Graphics were cool. Neat concept. It will be one in my collection. There is one con: If you freeze or you experience a "bug" in the game at one of the puzzles, (hint:blow arrow) the game sight has a patch for you to download. Once that is done...you are good to go for the rest of the game. Dont let that discourage you. Keep on going, its worth it.
Dreamcatcher has done it again!

In the true style of a Dreamcatcher game, comes Riddle of The Sphinx. The graphics and storyline are mystifying. It is a "can't stop playing" type of game. I have almost all of the Dreamcatcher games and I am not disappointed by this game either. Thank You Dreamcatcher for being so entertaining.
Why did they make this game?

I have played this and other like it . I don't like this game becuase there is no interaction and it's hard to move around . I also found it hard to save a game bcause it would put the saved one undera diferent title. If you have played games like this before don't play this one. I liked Dust tale of the wired west bettr than this one. The dreamcatcher people needs to more games that are interactive.

I thought that Riddle of the Shinx was a great game. I'd say (in my favorites list)it is up at the top with Myst and Riven. I espesialy enjoyed the twist at the end with Gil. I'd rate this 9 on a scale of 10. It was very challenging, there are many ways you can die. I also thought it was pretty strange how their are no tourists around the pyramids or the sphinx, but it may be because Gil's team was exavating them. But in all it has taught me many things. I finally know what is hidden in the Sphinx!!!
Couldn't get it to run

I bought this game because so many were saying how great it is. Well I had problems right off with sound and the computer freezing. Now this was weird as I have a new Dell 8100 pentium 4. So I went to Dreamcatchers site on the web only to find out that my processor was too fast. I had to turn the graphics capability down so low that it was impossible for me to see anything but grainy shots and it still froze (although I did fix the sound problem). Probably a great game but not for the super fast computer.
Enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this game very much due to the fact that the puzzles were well hinted in the game as opposed to having to guess what needed to be done. granted the game was a little lacking in interaction with other characters but if the puzzle clues are available and the game flows i find that more important and this game had both.
Excellent game

Excellent exploration/puzzle game, non-violent. Accurate reproductions of the interior of the pyramids and lots of extra exploration and tons of puzzles to solve. The graphics are great too! I hope there is a sequel or something very similar out soon!
