An excellent game.

This game is the best RTS I have ever played.

1.The graphics are excellent.
2.The music is excellent in quality, but there are only 3 or so tracks. But the game has good sound effects.
3.Contrary to what some others have said, there is a zoom view.
4.Realism and historical accuracy are the best part of this game.
5.Gameplay is very well balanced, which each unit have its strengths and weaknesses.
6. The game would be still be good even without the excellent internet multiplayer.
7.The campaigns and single missions are also quite fun, but sometimes easy.
This is a great game!!! A must for a strategy fan.

I just downloaded the DEMO of this game today, and the demo already had me droolingto buy the game! Gathering resources and building armies is EASY! The pop cap is one of my favorite features, up to 16000!!! Unlike games like EE which only goes up to 800 maximum. Units work together and everything, and i'm only talking about the demo alone, And I can't wait to try the full version!!!

Accurate but Not Excellent...

I just graduated from the University of Illinois with a Major in American history, my speacialty being the Revolutionary War. I got this game a few weeks ago because I thought it sounded interesting. The game is very accurate to history with a few exceptions such as the fact that, the soldiers can ONLY fight, they would really have been doing plenty of other things such as building shelters and such. Certain obstacles are also not included, like the fact that the soldiers were constantly coming down with dysentry and other illnesses. The sounds are realistic, but the music is horrible. The graphics are OK, but you are looking into the scenes from a far away view and the movements can become sticky. One thing that annoys me is the fact that the soldiers can walk throught trees! The soldiers can turn and flee, including your own, which is a realistic plus and morale is included, which makes the game harder. Its an interesting play and pretty fun, but there is definetely a better one out there. And if you're really interested in the Revolutionary war, university classes and novels are a much better way to learn and have a good time!

16000, is all i gotta say. That is how many people you can reieve. That Means That the population is not 200 0r 250. This game is based on the historical events not non existing battles. Want to ambush someone? If you do put your men on hold fire. When ready select all men and fire. If not all the resistance fall they will either reload or use their baynette. When the opposing force is sladered advance to their forts, fortress, church or any other building and march them in the door way. The building is now yours. And your men have survived to fight another day. Does water slow you down? Transportation ships for age of empires can only hold 20 men. Wow! American conquest ships can hold 300. So the choice is clear you must by this game.

Wow. This game is incredible. I think this game is better than Age of Empires 1 and 2. The strategy and skills this game requires makes it a fun experience. You must get this game. You must get this game!

Amazing game! It's not like those war games, where you think you control and entire army and actually only control 4 guys. This game you actually DO control an entire army! It's amazing!!!!!! Historically accurate, which means it's also great for educational purposes. Amazing, and the graphics are pretty good too! If you don't buy this game, especially since the price is really low, then I'd be completely shocked. This is my favorite game of all time.

If your not good at strategy, you will be by the time you master this game. It will teach you how to use many flanking maneuvers.
Unlike many games where forest are taboo and you must go around them, here you can go through them as a real army could. Well worth its price.

Urban combat at its best

This is a very good RTS game that has an entirely different flavor than its predecessors, Cossacks - European Wars and The Art of War. No longer can I stand back and simply destroy an AI enemy with cannons and mortars. I have to go in and do the building by building combat. Even on Easy level, it was a nice change of pace and quite difficult until I got the hang of it.
A few glitches, primarily with canoes getting hung up on shorelines but other than that it's great and the animations are a step above AoE or Cossacks.

The Reasons to buy this game!

This could have been a great game, but there is only one problem with it: There are too many things going on at once! You cannot select one entire group at a time, only sections of a group, and since you usually have over 80 men on the battlefield at a time, things can get difficult to see, and therefore unit management becomes tedious. That's all I really have to say about this game. The engine is pretty, it had great promisses, but this one issue ruins the entire game.
