My girls loved it

My daughters, ages 12 and 9 didn't even ask for this for Christmas. Someone recommended it to me. They haven't stopped playing it. My 12 year old wants me to buy it for her girlfriend for her birthday this month. A great present!

My oldest son has been playing baseball every since his little hands could hold a bat. If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, his answer is always "a baseball player" so it was no surprise to me that when he saw the software for Backyard Baseball that he would want to buy it.

As much as I LOVE baseball myself, I really had no interest in learning the video game. After time however, I found myself asking questions and coming to an understanding that there was more to meet the eye than just your average virtual baseball game.

The first concept about this game that is really cute is there are 2 different stages and different levels. You can play t-ball or your standard little league baseball game. I thought that was a great addition to have both versions in one game because my little one can play this game as well and understand the concept since he too is in the t-ball league.

The second thing about this that makes it appealing to children is the different baseball fields the games take place in. Sometimes it's your typical baseball field, other times they're playing in a make shift baseball field out in a lot, a school baseball diamond, there are several and they're all very unique.

The third thing that I personally like is the kids that are in the game that play the baseball players are all racially diverse. There is even a player who is in a wheelchair but has one heck of a throwing arm! ;)

My husband really likes the fact that the game allows you to not only PLAY the game, but to also be the coach of the teams you select. Your child will actually pick the players on your team based on the players stats, and create a play list. You have a baseball schedule and everything and my son printed his out and played the games according the schedule like any other baseball game. His learning knowledge of how a team is put together was taught in a way we never could have explained.

After you play your team scheduled games, there is a little league series complete with a trophy for your child to print out!

I strongly recommend this game for every little baseball player or baseball player to be. My God-daughter also has this game and she loves it, so it's not just for boys. So give this one a try, I can guarantee you'll score a homerun for the person you buy this for!!! ;)

This game is awesome with great graphics and the players are really good. I gave this game a 4 because your opponents don't do anything but stand there, while you have the ball. They just cover you. I thought it would be a challenge but it isn't.
But... The players are really good and, I recommend that you buy this awesome game. GO BASKETBALL!!!

Everybody should buy my favorite game. There is Kevin Garnett and Lisa Leslie. The old players are awesome too. The teams are great. My only complaint is the game can be slow at times. You can make your own team and change them around whenever you want. I LOVE IT!

there is not 1 game that is better than this. i was on humongous.com and i saw all these like backyard games and i like basketball so i got it. it has really good graphics and you can do AWESOME STUNTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Backyard Basketball is an awesome game for any Backyard fan. Even for someone new to the series. It's easy point-and-click controls, fun characters, fun gameplay, and custom teams made it one of the best Backyard games ever (which is saying a lot, as any fan should know).

You can make your own team. You can even have pros on your team, such as Kevin Garnett, or, if you prefer, make you own kid.

It's easy to recommend this game to practically anyone.

I'm "MoneyMan", a registered online coach at humongoussports.com, and as a registered coach i can play "backyard" games online. I haven't bought the game yet, but was very disapointed to find out that this game nor Backyard Football 2002 didn't have online play. I was very happy though to find out that it had more descriptive create-a-player options, pro players, and specific options. My fellow Backyard gamers updated me on the game, and I found that it was not as good as I expected. This game was what everyone was waiting for at "The Sidelines", the Humongous Sports messageboard, before it was unexpectedly shut down for a second time. To find out it had limited saving options and no online play was a bad start. However, finding awesome graphics and great play-by-play and other options was a big plus. Overall, I think I will be happy enough with this game.
