Play game on Sept 6th

I played an final test version of Shrek on a final debug Xbox machine (smoke green) The controls are so advanced it was magic, no bs, the music rocked. Shrek was being chased by witches and when I farted on them they were stunned and started to cough surrounded in a green cloud of noxious gas. It made me laugh so hard i started to cry. Also saw some skeletons in one of the castles, they dance, like Michael Jackson moonwalker, ... hilarious, all the testors in the room were busting up like kids, this is a hit, DICE is awesome . . . just a few of hundreds of hilarious bonuses this game has, it will be a classic. ...

A fun, lighthearted game

This one is a nice lighthearted game for when you don't want to run around killing everything :). Instead, it's more of a puzzle/adventure oriented game, and should be entertaining for all ages. I'd probably recommend waiting to see how the reviews for this title are instead of preordering however, since the movies released so far indicate that the gameplay may be overly simplistic.

A quirky masterpiece!

Oh - I was fooled alright.

The reviewers almost had me! This game - albeit a bit grumpy to get in to - is a hit! It's annoyingly addictive! Constantly craving your attention!!

I started out suspicious but gradually became hooked!

1. The graphics! Jaw: dropped!
2. The gameplay! Fun, fun, funnier!
3. The characters! Wait til' you get to level four!

Halo and Shrek are my X-box favourites! A must-have!

Shrek on Xbox won't dissapoint you...

Played Shrek along with DOA on a Xbox-tour yesterday, and I must say I was really impressed...

Initially I was afraid Shrek would be made too simple just because it also should appeal to a younger audience. But what I found was a really fun and addictive puzzle-game that did more than justice to the great movie that stood model. Trust me, you don't wanna miss this one...

...by the way - the graphics are astounding.

Not for Kids

I bought this thinking that my children could play and enjoy it. That is not the case. This game is complicated and very hard to master yet it is clear that it was originally meant for children.

For one, you can't kill any enemy characters. You can just stun them and after a few seconds they get back up. Oh, Shrek cannot die either. Gameplay is based on specific missions that are time based. For instance one mission is to fart on a dancing cow before the sun goes down.

The only positive thing that I can say is that the graphics are incredible.

Bottom line, rent don't buy.

Outstanding game!

I too got to test out the game and the visuals are mind blowing. If feels like your playing the movie. The controlls are excellent and has that weird humor that'll keep you laughing for hours. Great game, a must have.

Shrek for the XBox

I bought this game for my 5 year old nephew. He plays it nearly everyday since Christmas (today is 4-1-02, and this is not an April Fool's). For me, I wouldn't buy it, but for any kid I would. The amount of time they put into the graphics for this game must be staggering. Every new level is just beautiful . . . I mean like amazing. . textures, sheens. TDK Interactive doesn't get enough credit for this gem.

fun but a bit hard

This is a fun game.

The games graphics and sound on the X-Box are just amazing.

All the art work I've seen in it is clever and fun for young and old alike.

My only complaint would be that both me and my wife find is fairly difficult to play. The introductery levels might be cake for console wizards. But for a couple that has always played computer games, the first few levels could be a bit easier (and there by more encouraging).

Despite it's difficulty, I would reccommend this game to anyone. The violence is contained and cartoony and not likely to offend even the most senstive. There is decent humor and story telling. And the sound and graphics are simply impressive.

If I could change just two things, it would be:
the first few levels to be more forgiving.
and for the inclusion of co-operative play.
With those 2 I would give it a solid 5 stars. With either one of them I would give it 4. As is, I would rate it a 3 star game. Very fun, and very pretty, but in my opinion a ever so slightly flawed gem.

It's a blast being Shrek!

Massive gameplay, really - REALLY - goody-goody-feel to the action. And - this you know - beutifull graphics; actually the best I've seen on the X-box so far!

Overall really impressive stuff. A lot of fun! A definitive must have when you get your X!

Such a disappointment!

I bought this game thinking that it would fun and entertaining. I was definitely mistaken. It's the same thing over, and over, and over again. No variety. Doing the same thing once or twice is okay, but 5 times is just too many. I wish I had rented it first.
