I was excited about this game before it came out and was anticipating its release. However, for those of you like me, let me break it to you gently. This is definitely a rental game and no more. The storyline is weak, the missions do not draw on the storyline, and the graphics are not that good when compared to other xbox games such as Halo. In my opinion, Blood Wake does not come close to using the tools that the xbox has to offer. A disappointment, but you should rent it anyway to form your own opinion. If you buy it on a whim, just remember that I told you so.

This games is awesome. I suggest that anyone with an Xbox buy this game. Not only are the graphics good, but the physics are very realistic. This is for serious gamers.

Although the developers of this game were able to come up with awesome water physics and great boats, they seem to have forgotten a key component to this game: good gameplay. This game had soooo much potential, but the gameplay [is] soooo bad that I never got past the 9th mission before I gave up entirely. Basically, you get eaten up alive in this game, and when there are 20 boats coming after you, you just get slaughtered. And after the 30th time on the same mission (read: slaughter #30), I said screw it, and then I "fuggotaboutit"... Save your money adn buy a game that won't have you throwing your controller across the room.

this game is the worst boat racing game ever developed. the boats are difficult to control and you can motor over top of large rocks and even islands........ in stormy conditions you cant even shoot other boats. the missiles simply plummet into the next wave or shoot off the screen. as far as racing games go, this one is in last place! nice job bill.
Well............

This is a basic copy of Twisted Metal, except on water. You play the role of some asain guy. It's pretty easy untill 3/4 of the way through then baots the were dead with 3 torpedoes are now killed with 5. The controls aren't the greatest part. sometimes when you try to turn you suddenly find yourself in reverse. Graphics are pretty good. Sound isn't something to die for.
Eh, Fun for awhile but not too engaging

Blood Wake is another hit braught by the Xbox. The game looks to be promesing but It's really not that great. The graphics engine for the water is just pure and Amazing. I loved how they desighned the levels of water they really made them look awesome. The game is also great with the boats as you can shoot out many different types of ammo and this is one of those pretty cool run and gun fights except...it's with boats.
But the game is lacking. There isn't much to do except run n' gun boats, they don't add anything new to it. The gameplay is good for about 15 minutes but then just gets boring and a little repetitive.
Pros
Graphics
Lil gampeplay
Water desighn
Con
Gameplay..hehe
Boring story
Cutscenes arnt that great
Kina repetitive but we can handle it
In the end I give this jumbo sized Xbox Title a
3 out of 5 stars
Lates.
Sweet

This game is for you guys who like hard challeging games.
The two player battle is probably the best out of the game.
You have to beat the game in order to get new boats (some).
But that was easy for me, i beat it in under 1 mounth with cheats it took me 1 week. This game takes a lot of patience and a lot of knowlege but is is cool!
one of the top 10 for xbox

Ok, now the first thing I want to say is this is THE best game for xbox but I still LOVE this game! Sometimes the little cutscenes will get a little annoying but you should still watch them. This game is very intense and in my opinion a lot of people who gave this game things like one star are NOT right. You should just buy this game period! I'll admit I currently haven't beaten this game completely yet but I'm on the last level. One of the downsides with this game is the fact that there are some (only a small amount) of levels that are particularly short and easy but I still REALLY like this game. The only level that REALLY got me down was level 8. I must have tried 50 times before I was done with that level. Now for multiplayer, It can have a fun miltiplayer but what I found especially fun was this one level with a bunch of these vert-ramps. Anyway, My opinion on this game is 5 large stars! One more thing, I know, I'm only 11, but I have a very mature taste for games. Just ask me about halo ^_^
call it a 3.5

Not a 4 rating but not quite a 3 either. It is interesting but all you do is race around and try to blow up other boats...sums it up. Not a game that you will play over and over, but good for that break from Halo and some others. Worth its current price.
-maybe a 3.5

The graphics of bloodwake are dutifully impressive for an Xbox title, but if your looking for the level of raw carnage that 'Twisted metal' provides, dont look here. In campaign mode your character is Kai, a Naval captain whose squad is splashed by his own brother. Fortunately for Kai, pirates happen upon the scene and pull him from the waves toward a shaky future. So of you go, initiated into the 'Shadow Clan' pirates. The story unfolds from there, never quite being exceptional but never making the player roll their eyes in disgust either. In other words, it's ok but dont expect it to 'WOW' you.
Gameplay takes a bit of getting used to; your boat rocks and rolls with the waves, reactes somewhat sluggishly, and is difficult to control in reverse. But after you get used to it all, it's fairly entertaining. The player unlocks an array of different boats as they proceed through the game, with an arsenal comprising torpedoes, chain guns, autocannons, cannons, rockets and mines. Unfortunately though, you can't choose which boat you'll use in a mission, it's always an assigned boat. Most missions are fairly straightforward: sink enemy. -But there are a few nice changes of pace along the way. That being said, some of the missions are extremely difficult on any difficulty level above beginner, and cheat codes are a must have for the last three. -Hats off to anyone who has beaten them without a cheat.
All in all it's a good game, but not great. A fun 'once in awhile' game. And it's a good choice for it's current price of [money].
