Good, but not Great

A typical Adventure Company release - point and click, lovely graphics overall, rock solid and enjoyable and reasonable voice acting.

I've only played the game for a few hours, but I think that's a good enough sample by which to judge the product. The game features the usual inventory-combine items - click on the screen - to activate puzzle solutions, which you either like or not. I find it logical, easy to use and enjoyable. I also like the fact that you can play the game without a CD in the drive, if you do a full install

It's very like the same designer's Black Mirror, with lovely rendered scenery, some awkward character movement and the need to re-visit people or locations several times to find clues or items. However, the voice acting is far better than Black Mirror, which was so silly as to be comical. There are a couple of in-jokes (all right, then, "Easter eggs") about Black Mirror, too, if players keep their eyes peeled.

The pace of things can be a bit slow at times and the main character walks like he's got gout, or arthritis, or something. Still, the scenery and the gradual build-up of the storyline mean that you tend to overlook these irritations and enjoy the game.

However, if you want action, buy Tomb Raider or one of those awful `shoot em ups': NiBiRu is recommended for adventure game fans.

its an okay game

This is a great game to spend a Saturday on. Its very short but the graphics are really good. Your character does move way to slow and the dialog can get pretty boring at times. I mostly like the puzzles, some were a challenge and to me the best but I am able to do a Rubik's cube so... with that said If you want action this game is not for you. If you like to take things slow and relax then buy this game.

Frustratingly SLOW-Save your $$$

When I read the plot of this game i rushed out to buy it-unfortunately I didnt read further or I would have known that this is a POINT & CLICK game, and as someone else mentioned, the main character moves from here to there at a snails pace. I wanted a game similar to Myst, where you are the P.O.V. and you could go anywhere and look at anything. Not so with this game, you can only go into certain hot spot areas, and only pick up and examine certain items. You watch the main character as he slowly walks to and fro, repeatedly having to go to the same place, leave, go back, leave, go back again. UG, maddening!!!
There is no way to speed up the action either. Can watch TV and play, and not miss a thing. BORING!!!

Nice Graphics...........but

The idea for the game is good, has a definet goal to reach. On 2 discs that do not need to be in the drive to run is a plus. The graphics are pretty darn good.

Actual game play is akin to taking a sedative, slow movements, watching your figure move from place to place gets real tiring, very sleepy actually. Making the character move is about all you can do in this game. There are a few puzzels to solve, though not as many as there could/should be. Near all the conversations are game run, the player has no, none, nada, zilch control over what is said in conversations, and you can't do anything but watch.

The subtitles are written with a lot of typos, and painfully slow, even at the fastest setting.

Better than nothing, though not much. My 2 star rating is entirely based on the graphics.

Foul language

The game overall was entertaining and the graphics were pretty good. This game took you to different places all over the world so it's a long game and I liked that. The main draw back is the language. Beware parents, there is some strong language in this game and I feel the rating 13 and above is a little slack. I particularly did not like the use of God's name in vain. It didn't add anything to the game and as a matter of fact, for me it took away from it. Not expecting this kind of language, I must admit I was shocked.

A few flaws, but not bad

The actual story of the game doesn't really draw you in in the beginning, however through sheer will and stubbornness, I completed this game in one day. (Not to mention a lack of a social life)

The start of the game has you, Martin Holan, an archaeology and linguistics student called to visit your uncle in France. He has a rather ambiguous project for you to complete and unfortunately, it remains ambiguous even up until the end. The story was a little slow and confusing at times with an ending that left much to be desired.

Graphics were pretty nice and the scenes and sound effects were amazingly realistic (think Syberia, but less snow)

Now as far as the vocal actors were concerned, I was a little disappointed. Our hero, Martin, is a little hard to form an attachment to, as he continues to state the obvious and sometimes talks like he's trying to be a "loose-cannon cop on the edge". Not very tough, just comes off dorky and grating. You get used to him after a while though. As for the other characters, their accents border somewhat on the ridiculous. Take Uncle Francois for example, I still don't know if he was German, French, English or Turkish.

Nibiru is a pure adventure game, which means no combat, just a lot of logic puzzles. Some of the puzzles were next to impossible but you can find solutions to all of them on the web. Anyway, for fans of this genre, and for people willing to spend 19.99 for roughly 8+ hours of gameplay, I'd say Niburu is a good choice.

I liked this game because it has beautiful/amazing graphics, and you don't have to run around slaughtering anybody or chopping heads (I don't like bloody games). This game is very relaxing, it's like watching a movie and also participating. This is definitely not an action game, it's more like Nancy Drew. The ending was a little disappointing but I had a great time playing, and I am happy to have this game.

Great story..

This game had a great story line. It was very interesting and easy to follow. It was medium in length and kept my interest through the whole thing. The graphics were gorgeous, I was quite pleased with it.

The down side is that the puzzles are almost impossible to figure out (most of them anyway), I had to cheat a lot to finish it. That is why it only gets a 3. If the puzzles made more sense it would have been a much better game.

Pretty Good Game

Pretty good game. Last 2 puzzles were pretty hard for me. Took me awhile and had to go on the internet to get hints to finish. Good graphics.

Better then some adventure games, not nearly as good as the great ones though, Nibiru is standard adventure fare..If you are some adventure game freak in Broken Sword withdrawl perhaps you will want to check out the recent, less-inspired versions..Just don't expect that glut of creativity that was known as 90's adventure gaming.
