It's fun to the max and it includes everything you could want out of nfs for the money!

I agree with most negative reviews...

... and MY pet peeves in this game are:

1) the menu structure and menu navigation.
- There are WAY too many options, and some don't make sense to me. For example: I've been able to buy a new car, but somehow I can't select it to drive in it.
- Games are supposed to be fun and fast. I want to be able to interrupt my work for a couple of minutes, play a game and then resume working again. Therefore, every game should have a button that allows you to quickly save a game, and to quickly exit one. I DO NOT want to press ESC, , , wait, ESC, ESC, , .

2) Startup is still too slow. It's annoying to see the same intros over and over again. Not only that, when you're the only one who creates a alias, then the program will say "loading" and when it's done "click to continue" (redundant! just move on) and THEN it will say "load complete", click "continue" (again: redundant! just move on).

3) I've played Underground many, many times, and it never crashed. I've had Carbon for a week and it crashed four times.

4) In some games, a little picture-in-picture (pip) appears, showing your opponent enjoying the fact that you had a frontal crash against something. Not only is this extremely repetitive and therefore soon annoying, the pip sometimes also appears when you are WAY ahead of your opponent. Not only should your opponent with little to laugh about, sometimes (s)he is so far behind, (s)he could not possibly SEE the collision taking place!

The big pro of the game, in comparison to Underground, is that you're not forced to play each and every game. Like most reviewers, I hate drifting, so I want to skip it. In Carbon, I can.

This game is a decent game but there are some depressingly horrible parts about the PC version.
The system requirements are too harsh for most normal people who have a computer. not one of those "took my salary for 3 years to pay it off" computers. one of those "I got this on Wal-Mart rollback special!" kinds.
It takes way too much space even though you may never be able to play it.
AND, there have been so many issues with the CD-Key not working or working then no longer being operational.

not so bad

I'm a novice racer and I find this game pretty interesting. I'm a hard-core soccer game and a race or two after each FIFA match is relaxing.

About the realistic part: I'd say it can't be better (though there are some flaws such as repeated map, corners): You have Crew members (they're absolutely usefull if you know how to use them. A blocker can bust the opponent leader and ensure your victory. A drafter can be a life-saver when you're near the finish line and need a boost (sling-shot) to win the leader by a percentage of a second. Etc. The short video clips are also well-made. Nice collection of soundtrack, also.

Though, I found the Canyon racing (or boss-mode) is both so frustrating and interesting. At first, it's like impossible to capture the lead of the boss or knock him out to the cliff since NOS is disable. And it's impossible to score high-enough point when following him to ensure victory at the 2nd race without slow-motion "speedbreaker". Now, it's interesting because after restarting a couple of times (I think I've restarted the boss-mode races like 20 times), you'll find a corner or stuffs like that where you can "make a move" and pass the boss. And it's not even easy to keep the lead for just 10 seconds.

On a side note,I understand low-scoring reviews. The game is too easy. Even a newbie racer like me can easily win every race (except for the boss-mode). Just keep in mind that it can't be uber perfect. If memory serves, EA also screws up in FIFA along time to release such a good game like FIFA 07.

Good Game could have been better

This is a good Game, Amazing Graphic sequences, the characters are really good, the animation of the characters is excelent, i guess you cannot expect less from EA...

But while you play the game you see, there are couple things, the game gets really really hard in some races, and you gotta make the game hard for the player so is not boring but not that hard that i break my gamepad. Also the game is kind of short, need for speed most wanted had a perfect balance between longness and dificulty, but this game is not that long to enjoy it. Another thing, would be better if they had included all the cars in the single player mode, they didnt do it, the koenigsegg CCX was a good example, another example is the Audi Lemans Quattro...

Sumarizing is a good game, but i expected more from EA

an interesting challenge
