I have played the majority of games in this series. I love them, they are my guilty indulgence, but this one left me cold. 2 of the challenges were darned near impossible, and in fact by the time I got to the snowmobile race I was fed up and didn't even bother to finish. If I want to do chores there are plenty around the house,I don't need a game for that. Seriously, it's as if they ran out of puzzles and plot material so they got lazy and substituted that annoying cooking drill over and over. I haven't given up on Nancy Drew yet but if the Venice episode is like this one I just might!

The makers of this game went about it a little differently on this one, therefore making for a less predictable and more enjoyable game experience. There are still some repetitive tasks you must complete to finish the game, but the added elements made it feel not so bad. I'm gonna give this one a huge thumbs up. Definitely worth the play for fans of this genre. The ending was kinda weird, but kool still.

Beware of the evil Fox and Geese game in this one. They should not have made this so impossible to win, because you cannot move on in the game until you win it. It is a PAIN. It took me days until I finally got lucky and won. Overall, the game besides this one irritation is good. It's fun to play chef, the story line is interesting, and I do get a kick out of Nancy's random mumblings in the bathroom. But if you're aiming to buy this game and finish it in one sitting, pfft, good luck trying. That one mini game will not be defeated so easily.

I just started playing mystery games and am addicted to them now. But if I ever had a problem with the game I would send it back and there would be no problem of a replacement. I would buy over and over. I am very pleased with the products and the company.j So of course I will be back.
really fun game

the graphics are very good, the story line is better than the "legend of the crystal skull" which is the next one after this one and this game is fun to play. this is a good game, almost like the books.
Challenging but fun

The children worked together to solve the mystery. It took a lot of work but they were happy with success.

This was the first Nancy Drew PC game I have played but I LOVED it!! My sister almost cried when we solved it and we are already looking for a new game to buy. It had very good illustrations and I hope that you will try this game as well! It is NOT a waste of money!!

I have not yet finished playing Nancy Drew and the White Wolf of Icicle Creek yet, and am not that far into it yet. However, my first Nancy Drew game was The Beast of Blackmoor Manor, which was incredible and challenging, also exciting and thrilling (a little scary, too.). Perhaps that game was just too much to follow up to, but Icicle Creek is not as fun or exciting. Blackmoor dealt with suspense and intrigue, and Nancy Drew not so much. Also, what I don't like is the constant green "L's" around everything you should click on. It drives me nuts, because they remain even affter I've clicked on them. It doesn't change for senior detective, either. The other thing I don't like is how if you want to go on a path somewhere, Nancy has to walk for you first. It is kind of a waste of time. I wish we could walk ourselves like in Blackmoor. Finally, I'm not a huge fan of scheduling all of your game time around the fact that you constantly have to watch the clock to see if it is breakfast, lunch or dinner time. Making it is rather tedious; maybe it wouldn't be if there weren't so many dishes to make. Also, shoveling the pond is difficult for me; I'm not sure I understand it and I always manage to fall in. That is another thing; whenever you make a mistake, you have to listen to a phone conversation for 5 minutes that you cannot skip by before you can start again. And let it be known that driving the snowmobile is overrated! But don't let this review scare you out of buying this game; my advice is to buy The Beast of Blackmoor Manor first, and play it. Then you can play this one. Or better yet, do that in the reverse order. Then you will see the difference. But not a bad game; I could never say Nancy Drew games are not fun! They're worth your time, usually family friendly (besides a few scary parts, like in Blackmoor) and they make you think!

We have purchased and played every Nancy Drew game as a family. Our kids currently range in age from 6-15. We have been playing these for 6 or 7 years. Although there are some interesting twists and turns, overall this game lacked the excitement of many of the prior games. The kitchen, the snowball fight, and the snowmobile chase were all boring and repetitive. We like the puzzles which require thinking and remembering, and there are precious few in this game. This game also had so few characters and such a limited setting that it lacked much depth. This was our least favorite of all the Nancy Drew games. We hope for improvement in future games.
Great fun
