Good Game for Baby Boomers

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 8 / 14

I have no problem with the voice recognition nor the hand-writing recognition features of this game.

I play video games to give my brain (sub-cortex non-cognitive part) a chance to stretch out and exercise its primitive capabilities. I'm happy with this game and after using the
game for 5 days, I do believe my brain is functioning faster,
and I am less stressed-out when the cortex part of my brain is
pushing other part of the brain to do more work.

By the way, I also have a PSP, but that console have neither
voice recognition nor hand-writing recognition.

NOT ACCURATE AT ALL!!!!!

I'm a stay-at-home mom who spends all day speaking to 1 and 5 years olds, so I thought I'd get this game to refresh my mind and keep it active. First of all, the voice recognition is EXTREMELY POOR! I had BLACK written in BLACK saying BLACK 20 times before it registered, so my initial brain age was something like 83. It has MAJOR ISSUES reading my writing as well...tonight, for example, it read a 14 as a 41, it read a 4 as an 11, and a 10 as a 50! It's soooo annoying! Make sure you have a screen protector or else you can wear out the touchpad where the MORE button is...the professor guy says the same thing over and over and you have to touch MORE about 7 times after you finish each type of training. I maybe use the training once a week now when I'm bored and have been using this software mainly for the Sudoku. Save your money, it's really not worth it.

YOur brain that is ... it is fun to find a game that simulates your brain not just your reflexes. I have enjoyed brushing off the cobbwebs when doing quick simple math. The Suduka puzzle could be a bit friendly the use, but it's not bad. The only problem I have with the game is character recognition, especially when it comes to words.

I thought the game was cool. It can really help you in school. I wouldn't recomend this game to kids under 8 because it wouldn't seem that intresting to kids that young.

Fix the voice recognition problems

We were disappointed with the game because the voice recognition problems, especially with 'blue' made it hard to get a real score. Plus, over-all, the tests were not challenging enough. Needs a higher level.

Brain Age Works

I found this to be a fun game as well as effective. I enjoyed the various activities and truly felt that several of them increased my concentration and abilty to increase my speed. I particularly like it when it got to the level where I could choose which games I wanted to use for my brain age tests. Several of the games are going to require more repetitions before I become skillful at them. I find that I continue working with the game instead of putting it down after a short time because of lack of interest.

Brain Overload

Great game for the developing mind.

You get to choose from:
Sudoku Puzzles
Brain Age Testing
Free Play

Wait, that's it?

Yes unfortunately there is a limit testing your brain once a day.

After that you get the ability to play the other games to unlock other ones and to keep your brain fresh.

Though those also register scores once a day.

In addition, the sudoku puzzles are not endless, so once you complete all of those you have nothing left to accomplish.

My recommendation:

Don't buy if you are expecting something to pass the time, because this game can get old fast.

I am not a numbers person, and I can't stand Sudoku. There is not a lot left to do with Brain Age if you eliminate those two types of activities. Um...reading aloud as fast as you can? Counting syllables? Doing sums, for heaven's sake? Just not my idea of entertainment. I know plenty of people who love this, who use it as part of a sort of overall fitness program (gym, diet, Brain Age), but I got tired of it after one day.

The interactivity is neat, and drawing on the touch screen is cool. The game sometimes has trouble reading the input--it thinks all my fives are nines, f.e--so that tends to lower my score and really frustrate me. Same for the voice recognition--the game never recognized the word "blue" when I said it.

Overall, I found it an interesting idea, but not a lot of fun.

A very addictive game!

I loved the concept that we can measure our brain age and then be able to daily train our brains with a variety of tests. Also with the added feature of playing sudoku, it makes this game a great time killer when you're bored or traveling. I recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a game that not only is challenging but productive.

This game kept my entire family captivated during our Christmas vacation. It lets you train daily or just play games. I love the Suduko it is a very worthwhile play.
