Great Game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 0 / 0

This game is fun from blasting enemies with cool classic ww2 guns, driving tanks, driving armored jeeps and shooting with them plus some history lessons on guns used and other stuff.

The game is quite good exciting and not boring since you are not only doing assault missions with one band but fighting along with the Polish, Brits, Americans and Canadians it`s a different game of the WWII focused only on the days of war in France.

You will enjoy this game if you like FPS games.

Wii First Person Shooter Fun

This is the best Wii FPS so far. Much better visual and control wise than Resident Evil. Gameplay is actually rather difficult so it makes you want to try and try again. Must have in any Wii game collection

Steady Hand Wins the Day

Excellent game to play. Fun, fast and full of typical Call of Duty action. The Wii controller adds a whole other interactive element to Call of Duty which is exactly what the Wii system is all about. Make sure to have a steady hand though. Aiming and holding the fast moving screen with Wii controller is a serious challenge. TIP: hold a pillow undern your hand to keep it steady, especially when confronting a large amount of enemies with some kind of scoped weapon.

Call of Duty 3 is above average

The good points on this game are it provides training in the beginning on how to throw grenades, shoot targets, squat, etc. I'm still learning about this game, but my initial opinion is positive.
However, the negative is it's not capable for on-line play.

Another great shooting game for the Wii!!

I remember playing a Call of Duty demo a couple of years ago on my Playstation 2 and being completely turned off because of the awkward controls. So when my sister suggested I get this game, my first thought was "I'm not about to spend $40 on a game that is difficult to play". But I love shooting games and I was in the mood to buy one. Call of Duty 3 was the only shooting game in the case so I went ahead and bought it.

When I first started the game, I was amazed at the graphics. Having played a few other Wii games, I knew that the graphics would be nice but the little details in this particular game wowed me. This game also has quite a few "cut scenes" which I like to see in video games because "cut scenes" tell a story and give meaning to an otherwise plain shooting game. As other reviewers mentioned, you can't skip through these which can be a pain but none of them are too, too long.

The game is divided into missions. You have a starting point and a starting objective. Once completing this objective, you move onto other objectives until you "beat" that particular level. Your game saves after completing objectives so if you die on a particular stage, you don't have to start from the beginning of the level. Which leads me to my next point. I love that you don't have a certain amount of damage you can take before you die. If you get shot, you may not be effected at all. If you take a few shots in a row, a screen will appear that says you need to take cover before receiving more damage. All you have to do is hide behind an object before this screen disappears and your health returns back to normal.

There are a few different guns available. You do eventually run out of ammo but all you have to do is run to a dead soldier and you can take their gun. Some guns are easier to use than others. Some take longer to reload. Some shoot one bullet at a time. Some shoot multiple bullets at a time.

Now when it comes to controls, here is where it can get a little tricky. In the beginning of the game, you're allowed to practice shooting guns and throwing grenades. Thank jeebus for the practice mode because it took me quite some time to figure everything out especially considering that I've played other shooting games whose controls are very different from this game. You obviously use the Wii remote AND the nunchuk (which can be intimidating to some people but it really isn't that difficult). There are a couple of scenes where you have to use the remote and the nunchuk for other things besides shooting, aiming, and running. When you plant explosives, you have to use the nunchuk to "set up" the explosives. These particular scenes can be a little awkward because you have to turn the nunchuk sideways to use it. Sometimes you have to physically fight with your enemies and you have to move the remote/nunchuk rapidly. Again, a little awkward. There are also scenes in which you drive vehicles. You place the remote and the nunchuk in a steering wheel position and drive that way. I have some difficulty with this part but you eventually get used to it.

I haven't played this game long enough to comment on the length of the game but I will say that it definitely is a replayable game so the length doesn't really bother me. Would I recommend this game? Definitely. Don't let the controls intimidate you. You'll learn them in no time.

[Update 10/29/07: I just finished the game and the other reviewers who said that it's short are absolutely correct. And I mean REALLY short. Had I known how short it was, I probably wouldn't given this game 4 stars rather than 5.]

Good Game, could have been better

This game was released with the Wii and I have to give it credit for that. The game was good in terms of action and gameplay. The controls however, were a little sloppy. It was as though the develoopers took an existing game and just threw in Wii controls. The driving was terrible, and the idea of rowing a boat was a bad one. I really enjoyed the way the guns work with the movement of the Wii Remote. If you like a good first person shooter, this would be a good place to start on the Wii.

Great game.. some work to get used to Wii controls

I love this game, but it is a bit difficult to get used to the unique Wii controls including driving and hand-to-hand combat.

Fun but short

Call of Duty 3 for the Wii is really fun. The wii remote is the gun and you aim and shoot. The whole game is really fun but it is way to short. I rented it and beat the game in 4 days. The game provides no challenge but is super. You can buy but it will probably be ignored within a week.

Worst game for Wii

I bought this game, thinking that it would be fun(regardless of the multiplayer, which, by the way is unacceptable). The truth is, the "coolness" factor wears off extremely fast, and then it just collects dust. Out of all the Wii games I've played, this is, by far, the worst.

not that great

this game is fun for a little while, but gets old really fast.
