I was never a great lover of the Tekken series until last year. Once I got into Tekken 3, after a while it just wasn't enough. Over spring break 2001, I rented this game and a PS2, and I was blown away. Despite a migraine headache, this game was THE best looking thing I have ever seen. I just about wet myself when I saw 128-bit graphics like this up close for the first time. Gameplay is different, but sooo much fun. The possibilities are endless!! 30+ characters (8 of which I have mastered) make the replay value endless. I will buy this to master ALL the characters, and to view all the different styles. Buy this game (even if you have the original Tekkens) and you won't be disappointed. From Baek Doo San to Wang Jinrey, this game is built to satisfy the bloodlust in all of us. ^_^

Tekken Tag.. its not quite Tekken 4, but imagine aal the old tekken games crammed into one, with an extra Tag mode, an excellent mini game and some of the finest graphics on the playstation 2.
The game isnt spectacularly fast, and although the loading times are virtually non-existent, gamers with their roots in Dead or Alive or Virtua Fighter may find the action a tad slow.
The game isnt spoiled by an abundance of annoying FMVs, in fact the only ones are the 3 intro sequences. Every time you complete arcade mode you will be able to view a new one of the 32 cut scenes hidden in the theatre mode (which you must unlock first). All of these are using in game graphics as well, which is quite cool.
As for characters, all the old favourites (and not so favourites) from the tekken trilogy are back with some few suprises. There are a whopping 20 characters at first, with 12 secret characters unlockable via the arcade mode.
Refreshingley, there is no annoying Dead or Alive style story line, which are always a pain ...with fighting games. The game is still traditionaly an arcade adventure, so the corny titles and selection screens may make serious gamers find a bit lame, but this isnt Ico or anything, and its all about fast furious action.
So there you go. The normal one on one mode should keep all gamers happy, and the new tagging moves should keep the fighting fans and Tekken faithul pleased until the next installment, Tekken 4 arrives. Probably the best fighting game on any console at the moment, and keeping hopefuls Virtual Fighter 4 and DOA3 on their toes. Buy now!
What are you confusing about?

I would actually choose 99 stars out of 100 stars for this game. You know what, I've seen Teken Tag Tournament on PS2 before, it has a very smooth movement and the Graphic is more than awesome you could possibly imagine! and please Do not compare with the arcade version, PS2 version is far better!
Let me ask you a question, Can you find any better fighting games like Tekken Tag Tournament? Virtua Fighter is even no compare at all!
Slight improvement over previous versions

The graphics are nice, but over all the game does not take full advantage of Playstation 2 capabilities. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Tekken 4.
A must have for the Playstation 2

Tekken Tag Tournament is basically Tekken 3 with better graphics, more characters, and tag team matches. The graphics, gameplay, and sound are all indistinguishable from the arcade version. Unfortunately, the new characters in Tag Tournament are only older characters that were omitted in Tekken 3, but it's still a nice bonus to be able to play as them again. The gameplay is a bit more balanced this time around, as most moves seem to have been slightly weakened to allow for longer matches. There's also plenty of extra features to keep one busy such as unlocking the secret characters and Tekken Bowl mode. The only area in which Tekken Tag Tournament falls short is the endings. Each character's ending consists only of a few seconds and most are quite pointless. However, Tekken Tag Tournament is more of a side game "what if?" scenario to the Tekken games anyway (that means that it doesn't take place in the actual Tekken storyline). In conclusion, if you are looking for a great 3-D fighting game that anyone can get into that has massive replay value, look no further than Tekken Tag Tournament.

I have always been a fan of the TEKKEN series of games and I wanted this one especially.
I love the tag feature best of all. I love using different characters with different fighting techniques.
If you play every character and win the tournament, you are awarded a new unseen character. But after you do this and get all of the characters, the game does tend to get boring.
Some of the problems I have are finding some of the secret moves. Granted it is a home video game system but you cannot use the analog stick (even if you could, it is not as easy as the arcade).
Another problem is some of the fighting moves. Some of the characters moves seem to be repeated with other characters like Anna and Nina; Angel and Devil; Alex and Roger. I was hoping that each character would have a different throw.
There are a few bonus features with the game. You get a theater option with different outfits (that is also a choice when playing the game). You can play a one on one tournament or have a practice fight. There is also a galllery (but these are pictures you must save). But the oddest feature is the bowling tournament. That has got to be the stupidest feature for this game. There is also a tag survival tournament. This is were you beat your opponents while your energy is spent up. Keep in mind each round gets harder than the previous one. There is also a timed attack tournament.
Overall, this is not a bad game to have. But don't play it too many times or you will wind up getting bored of it---quickly.
Wait until the next Tekken sequel

Tekken is definitely one of the best game series, but for anyone who is experienced with the series will find that Tekken Tag Tournament really hasn't broken any new ground in either the Tekken series or the fighting genre.
Namco has managed give Tekken Tag Tournament a visual upgrade. Unfortunately, backgrounds and foregrounds don't blend nicely together, and because the PlayStation 2 hardware lacks anti-aliasing, you can notice pixelation within character models. The title of the best graphics in a fighting game still belongs to Soul Calibur. Even with features added, isn't this the same Tekken we've been playing all along? Tekken Tag retains the same features from the arcade version. Every character from Tekken 2 and 3 will be selectable here. Better single player modes could have been added, which would have boosted the replay value.
The newest fighting technique in the Tekken series is the Tagging system. You'll be able to select two characters to go against another fighting pair. During battles, you may switch off between fighters at any time to beat your opponents. Unlike the Tag options in Dead or Alive 2 or Marvel vs. Capcom, Tekken's Tag option doesn't allow you to completely finish a battle. Once one of your team members die, the fight is over, which is degrading.
Tekken Tag Tournament may certainly become a hit with its famous franchise, while at the same time showing off its new home with the Sony PlayStation 2. Unless you're a hard-core fan of the series, you'll find this as nothing more but Tekken 3 with a Tag feature. Once you get past the new look of the game, the fun begins to turn routine. Gamers who have never had experience with Tekken or fighting games should investigate the game, but others looking for something new would want to check out the other titles the PlayStation 2 has to offer.
