This was my first PS2 game and believe me Tekken kicks total booty. The graphics are just incredible. The game is incredible. It is not just only a fighting game it is also a bowling game (yes this is true) If you are lucky enough to own a PS2 like me (thanks dad) this game is a must have. A total must have. Tekken Tag Tournament is the best fighter. An A++ job for NAMCO.
I LOVE TEKKEN TAG!!!...

I basically don't like fighting games, as I'm a big fan of sports games, but alot of my friends aren't, so I decided to get a fighting game that I would like and my friends would too. So I went out and got this. It was the best decision I had ever made. 30 characters if you beat the game 14 times and when you beat it 10 times, you gain access to something called tekken bowl which is a bowling game (in a fighting game?) that you can play. Fun for the whole family. Anyway, it easily gets 5 stars. Oh, and here's a tip... BUY IT!!!...
Totally awesome

TTT is an awesome game.
There are lots of characters to unlock, a bowling mini-game, and more.
The beauty of this game is its complexity. Tekken's fighting system is not easy to master. There are reverals, and even reversals of reversals (called chickens). Buttton smashing will not do in TTT. Instead you gain insight with several of the characters and become better and better. There are 5 difficulty levels to choose from and learn with. There is a practice mode to practice combos and moves. You can play 2-4 players, and the tag mode is decent.
The graphics are top-notch, the sound is awesome, the characters are well-balanced and different, fighting system is complex, and there're lots of replayability. What more can you ask for?
A game of infinite complexity, yet fun at all levels.

Ok, here is the bottom line: Tekken Tag (like most of the Tekken series) offers a challenging and fun game at any level of gameplay. Anybody who says that TTT is broken because of a certain aspect or that a lower level player can easily beat a high level player simply lacks the experience necessary to show that this is not the case.
I am a veteran Tekken player. I daresay I know this game extremely well and can hold my own at the highest levels. I've never felt like it was not worth trying to get better at it. I've never felt like a certain character was so "cheap" it hurt the whole game. When I was a beginner, I never felt like the game wasn't worth my time. Just when I thought I mastered the game, a whole new aspect of gameplay is made apparent to me that I can work out and spend a long time making better.
This game is great fun and is one of the most replayable games ever created for all the reasons above. If you're into fighting games, this really is a required game for your library. And if you're not into fighting games, this is a damn good place to start.
I cant think of a better title than, "This game is ok"

What can I say. Tekken Tag tournement as another reviewer said is tekken 1, 2, and 3 put together. I enjoy the tag feature. It makes for a fun actio packed and quick game. This game is a ton of fun while playing with friends, yet the fun factor isn't as great when playing alone. SIncerly, I don't know if this game is worth .... Renting this game first might be a good idea before buying it.

This is the best fighting game out right now. The graphics are top notch. The gameplay is very deep with thousands of moves and combos that take lots of practice to master. There are 34 characters to choose from and 7 different game modes. With every character receiving some new moves and all your old favorites returning there is more than enough reason to buy this if you own the other 3 games in the tekken series. Tekken is a fighter that takes very little time to learn and forever to master. I highly recommend it.
Still Awesome!

I was playing Tekken 4 the other day and missed the old characters. I went to play Tekken Tag and saw that the graphics are basically just as good.
The game rules. Tons of different characters. Tons of different moves. The most important thing is, this game is fun. I've spent hours trying to master all the characters and I never get bored. On a plus note, there is a "tag team" system. You tag in your partner whenever you want. Now there is even a cooperative (selected from the vs. menu) in which you and a buddy can fight trhough the single player game. There are also some tag combinations with people like Jin and Jun. These aren't used by many, but you can grapple an opponent and have your partner run in after you are done and do another grapple which looks really cool.
The awesome story is still there. Problems? It doesn't fit into any Tekken game. It does bring back every character from 1, 2, and 3. With the exception of Forest Law or Marhsall Law, I forget which. It also leaves out the dinosaur, and Dr. B who I never got in tekken 3. The new character is Unknown. She is pretty fun.
After it is all said and done, this game is the best tekken in my opinion. I'll still remember the countless hours I spent with tekken 2, but we all have to move on. Get this or Tekken 2 if you want the original tekken.
The Best fighting game

Tekken Tag tournement (created by Namco) is a great action game. The graphics are great the sound is awesome the backgrounds are very realistic and the loading time is super quick. There are tons of special moves and combos for every character, and there is a Command list whhich tells you the character's moves and shows you how to do them. I think this is a great game for any action video game fans whether they have heard of Tekken or not.
VERY GOOD GAME

The newest member of the Tekken family debuts as one of the premier fighting games for the PS2. Tekken Tag Tournament's attention to visual detail and fun gameplay even outperforms its coin-op counterpart, making it a must-have title for fortunate PS2 owners. The cast of TTT is a who's who of the Tekken family. A total of 34 characters, including your favorite brawlers from Tekken 2 and Tekken 3, plus an original end boss. But this isn't just a Tekken family reunion; instead, TTT brings a new strategy to the ring with a "tag" system that lets you tag in a partner at any time during a heated round. Fighter duos can do major damage, alternating on the fly without interrupting the action, teaming up for insane multi-hit partner-swap air juggles, and delivering serious hard-hitting standing combos. Players will instantly notice the game's sharp graphics. Each area looks more polished than the arcade version's, with separate animations in the background; enhanced, well-drawn environments; and, of course, beautiful computer-graphic full-motion videos to tell the story. The character detail is also astonishing. From their diverse outfits to each of their unique animations, fighters are vivid and move smoothly without any slowdown. As for the audio, the sounds of TTT have been faithfully retained from the arcade. Crisp audio effects keep the action alive, while the cool techno tunes in each level are in harmony with the overall feel of the game. Fans of this ferocious fighter franchise, of either the arcade or home version, will immediately feel at home with the controls. Using just the top-four buttons, directional pad, and a shoulder button to switch between fighters, bruisers can execute devastating 10 hit-combos and bone-crunching linking moves. Even if you're a Tekken newbie, the Practice mode will quickly get you in shape, as it lists every special move, which the computer will demonstrate how to do if you're unsure what the move is supposed to look like. The only drawback is that you'll have to learn the big-hit combos on your own. Besides the Practice option, TTT also has special modes that you won't find in the arcade version. There are one-on-one vs., Team Battle, Time Attack, and Survival modes, along with an area where you can view the various Tekken cinemas, an art gallery, and a mini-game: Tekken Bowl. Namco has always been strong in the fighting genre, and Tekken Tag Tournament is no exception. While the game may be old in the arcades, it certainly looks and feels new for the home console, effectively exploiting the power of the PS2 with outstanding graphics, sound, and controls. This is a perfect addition to the PS2's burgeoning library.
