What a fun game! Once you start, you'll probably have a hard time stopping. You get to choose different characters and caddies who have their own strong personalities. The sound in a little distorted but otherwise, the entire game is great. Every time you win a game, you get points to add to your character to improve their game. Or if you win money, you get to buy new equipment. This game provides hours of fun for everyone!

This is a highly addictive game. I've never been much of a golf fan but was after getting this game, I was hooked. The graphics are great, everything is in 3D including the trees (which all sway realistically in the breeze) to the spectators who actually move while you are playing.. the clouds also move across the sky and every now and then you get a rain storm which means you have to play one hole under darkened skies and lashing rain. Deepening the game's replay value, success in competition modes can unlock a variety of secrets, such as new clubs, hidden players, more courses, skill points, and extra game modes.

This is a great golf game. Great gameplay and graphics and every character (there are 10) has a different story and there are a bunch of caddies to choose from too. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I think Hot Shots Golf 3 is much better.

I played this game in a best buy about a year ago and i loved it then! I ususally hate any sports games but the character interaction got me hooked! My husband and I play it together all the time.
The courses are beautiful, very lush and a lot of detail. The caddies and the golfers can be annoying when you make a mistake and don't reach par right away.
I do recommened that you get this game it is a lot of fun!

I have enjoyed this game. I received it as a gift and have been playing it ever since. I usually get bored with these golf games, but the characters and caddies make this more interesting to play.
Not a bad game kinda easy though.

swing away golf is a very well constructed game. However, there are some set backs for one when you play a story mode you often have to play with a computer player, which makes the round drag on and on and the second is the annoying caddies they dont shut up and they think they no everything. All and all though this is a very good game if u have a good patience.
Hot shots style on PS2

If you enjoyed Hotshots golf on the psx then you should enjoy Swing away golf. They are very similar in style and gameplay. The game is VERY easy to learn, certainly no harder than Hotshots was. The load times are not excessive, but they are there and that is a little disappointing. The caddies are a massive pain in the butt. But instead of turning the sound down and putting on the stero, why not just go into the options menu and turn narration off? I had several people tell me that the caddies were always there. I don't know maybe they didn't look in the options menu.
If you are looking for a very serious golf game then look elsewhere. This game is certainly not serious. It is anime characters playing golf. If you like Hotshots or want to just joke around with your friends, then this game would be well worth it. 4 player mode can be a blast with some friends and beer. Worth the cash.
Overall this is an average game for the PS2.

When I rented this game, I was expecting a cartoony game with average graphics....What I got was an amazingly deep game for the playstation with great graphics........the game is very easy to pick up and play and the story mode is very fun......the game does load a little slow and it is sometimes unfair when you are chipping near the greens.......but otherwise, this game plays like Mario Golf for the N64........Golf fans should like this game and non golfers will like how easy it is to pick up and play it for a while........rent and enjoy.......then maybe buy it.........
