This game is NOT worth $50

If I could give this game less than one star, I would. Actually, it does deserve one star, it's not THAT bad. I mean, other than not being able to move the mechs or the point of view as effectively as you should, and the fact that the combat is ineffectually balanced, this game is fine. The controls are awkward. The way the mechs move is awkward. The PS2 is not a good platform for a mech game in the first place, because of the relative simplicity of the controller, but this implementation goes above and beyond the call of suck. Following what seems to be a trend lately of misplaced priorities, Tommo has made a very pretty game that plays extremely poorly.

OK....but....

This game would only really appeall to extremely hardcore mech gamers. I enjoyed it for a while but it got old really fast. The buying parts system? There is nothing new about that. A lot of games have that. And not just mech games. Car games, motorcycle games, etc. If you are really into this kind of game, go for it. But if not, try a different ty pe of game.....

It was ok

It passed as an armored core game, but I wouldn't reccomend it to hardcore armored core fans like myself. All of the missions are duplicates of the missions you did in armored core 1. It's like AC 1, but with weirder weapons, NO ARENA, and NO ranking system!! I liked AC 1, because there was a ranking system, and that gave gamers another goal, besides beating the game or getting the best robot. After you beat the game, create the best ac, and collect all of the parts, there is nothing else to do besides beat ...your newbie friends, and that can get boring quick. I pray that agetec and software produce a better Armored core game for the ps2, such as armored core 3. I hope that armored core 3 is more of a challenge.
LESSON: Get an armored core game, set it on Hard mode, forget medium. That way, you don't beat it in less than a weak (like I did Armored Core 2: Another Age) and its more of a challenge. There is no point in beating a game, then playing it again on a harder setting!

ho hum

It may be called another age,but as far as i'm concerned,Armored Core hasbeen stuck in time eversince it appeared on the original PS1.They finally added analog stick support welcome to 1998.The controls still feel clunky and slow.It gets better once you soup up your robot but still,it's annoying. As always, building and customizing your mech down to the details is great, but when that's more fun than actually taking it out into battle,we've got a problem. With responsive controls like Z.O.E.,this series could really go somewhere. As is Another Age is for Core heads only, and even some of them will be disappointed with more of the same.

A Rip Off If You Have The Original Armored Core 2

I have always been a avid Armored Core fan....I have all the Armored Core titles and this one was a disapointment. When I first got this game I thought it would be great, but when I got home it turned out to be the same as the first Armored Core 2 but with new missions and a few new weapons. So if you have the original Armored Core 2 I recommend that you not purchase this unless you really want it. But If you don't have the first Armored Core 2 then you should consider buying this. Overall this game is pretty good.

Not quite as good as the original Armored Core 2.

After playing Armored Core 2 constantly for months, I found out about the second game in the series for PS2. Armored Core 2: Another Age is basically an expansion to Armored Core 2. It has around 100 missions. I'm not sure how many exactly because I haven't beaten it yet. The missions are even more diverse than on the first game. You are required to save fortresses, attack airborne transports, and even assassinate other Ravens. The AI is much better too. Although that may seem all good, it's not. It gets somewhat annoying having to do missions after mission after mission. The arena is completely gone. The only remnant is a mission where you have a somewhat friendly fight with another Raven. The mission replay value is zero. There are no hidden parts to go back and find. You get them by simply finishing a certain mission. Don't expect too much in the way of new parts though. I've gotten about ten and I'm at 91% completeion. About half of them are variants of other parts(i.e. lightweight chaingun and lightweight grenade launcher). Some missions can be extremely difficult. A later assignment forces you to assassinate a Raven and two of his buddies for selling secrets. You get the pleasure of getting the crap kicked out of your AC from three directions at once. They rarely split up and are hard to kill. You will most likely run out of ammunition before you win. The graphics in the game look the same as in the first one which was slightly disappointing. Not that the graphics were bad, but they should have been improved. The only improvements are the versus mission where you play missions against your friends and online play. You get to control your mech with the left analog stick but I think it's too sensitive to target well. It's a good game but only recommended for dedicated Armored Core fans.

this game is awsome

When you see this game and it says Another Age, that means they are in a different time, but only by a few months. Technollogical advances are still not advancing. Now that we got that out of the way, let us be optomists. This game rocks. No doubta bout it! But, it is practically the same as the old Armored Core 2, but with new missions and a few good, new, fresh outta box weaponry ready to kill anything that gets within 800 ft. If you don't have Armored Core 2, then buy this. If you do have Armored Core 2 and enjoy all the missions and muyltiplayers and all that neat stuff, then this game is worth getting. If you have no idea what Armored Core is, then proceed to the nearest wall and make a dent in it withg your head, then buy the game, and play it.

This game is one of my favs!

Ok well when i first got this game I was not into mechs and stuff like that and when I played it I didn't even read the book. I played for about 5 minutes and then gave up but then I read the book and finished a few missions and made a pretty good mech for myself. Then my brother who is the same age as me saw my mech and began to play. We each have four different mechs and try to beat each other in the vs. mode. So this game is a good game to play with people who live right next door or in your house. My favorit thing though has to be the over boost but the reason I gave it a four was because the vs. maps arn't all that great. I like big spaces with lots of stuff in the way and my fav map is the destroyed city. any way its an all right game when playing by yourse;f but its better when you play with someone.

Really long and cool

This game has fantastic Graphics plus superior gameplay. The plot is simple you have a huge 100 foot tall robot and destroy all kinds of evemy robots. It has 100 missions and yes some are long. I don't know how they fit it all on one disc. There are also two player battle modes to play with your friends. You can shoot, fly, and destroy everything in your path. Problems this game doesn't have a solid plot or a moral goal. Some problems with the game are that it is way to easy to overwiegh your AC. But it still has 100 missions of adventure and blowing stuff up.
