This is going to be a great expansion game with 100 New Missions and Powerful New Weapons to build up your AC!!!! Armored Core 2 is lots of fun to play (I got the game over 2 months ago and still play it daily). Armored Core 2 lets you build your AC the way you want limited by the money you earned and weight rating of your AC. You can fight the AI ACs in the arena, go on missions and best of all go head-to-head in the split screen 2-player death matches. If you enjoyed Armored Core 2 then this game will be a MUST BUY!

I had the "Armored Core 2" game for a long time and even after finishing the game I kept on playing. I got alot of money and bought everything I could. I thought it was useless but then I found out about the expansion and heard that you could load your old AC. I thought it was great and I could keep feeding my Armored Core hunger for destruction. It's the same Armored Core we've come to know and love but with tougher missions and harder decisions. This game is definitely the best I've ever played in my life!

Armored core 2:Another age, Said to have over 100 missions (plan long gaming days, don't forget the bring sodas and pizzas), new parts and weapons (expect to see your old AC from Armored Core 2 to undergo a new look. If you got a copy of Armored Core 2). A must for the mecha fan (Well thats what I call them, mecha instead of mech). I plan to buy this because I got addicted to the Armored Core series and love Mecha fighting. . . P.S. If you want the human plus abilites, and overweight override, get Armored Core 2 and a code book.

Armored Core 2 is one of the top mecha (well that's what I call them) games I've have. I also have Armored Core: Master of Arena, yet Armored core 2 is actually better (with the ability to overheat your foe and watch as his/her health goes down, or vica verca, and a new over boost system) and more complex. The new custom coloring system that allows you to modify 5 instead of 4 areas of each part of your mecha. Also with a infinite combination of possibalities for your custom core, allows you to personally make the right mecha for you (no 2 cores are the exact same) Armorec Core 2 is a must buy for the mech fan. I also plan to buy the next Armored Core game and kick major metal butt!!

In Armored Core 2 ,the newest addition to the Armored Core series, you go head-to-head in relentless battles using an endless combination of parts. You can select from the collection of parts and armaments to customize your machine. Choose equipment from 14 different categories to make your own personal weapon of destruction.

* Customize your own Armored Core.

* Use 3 new parts functions: Extension An extension is a turret point that gas been added to the exterior of the Armored Core on both sides. It is designed to accommodate propulsion devices and assist in the machines high-speed mobility. Radiator This new feature is used to cool the Armored Core, which can overheat when subjected to harsh weather conditions, enemy attacks or prolonged use of the booster. Interior Enables an Armored Core to carry even more weapons. These new weapons will be similar to those normally equipped on an Armored Cores arms or shoulders.

* Original Armored Core creations can be saved to a memory card and put to the ultimate test in heated split-screen or link battles against a friend.

* All new arenas and rules.

For the Corporations, soldiers were nothing but expendable tools in the battlefields, and were held in low regard by society. However, the members of the Ravens, though they were soldiers as well, were guaranteed freedom and independence.

They were admired and respected by all other soldiers. For those who fled the Earths extremely poor underground cities and were barely surviving as soldiers, becoming a Raven represented the highest status and admiration they could acquire.

And so a new soldier aspires to become a member of the famed Ravens. Think you are good enough? Time to find out.

This game is NOT worth $50

If I could give this game less than one star, I would. Actually, it does deserve one star, it's not THAT bad. I mean, other than not being able to move the mechs or the point of view as effectively as you should, and the fact that the combat is ineffectually balanced, this game is fine. The controls are awkward. The way the mechs move is awkward. The PS2 is not a good platform for a mech game in the first place, because of the relative simplicity of the controller, but this implementation goes above and beyond the call of suck. Following what seems to be a trend lately of misplaced priorities, Tommo has made a very pretty game that plays extremely poorly.

If you dont like games that have a laerning curve of more than an hour, and dont use the newest control system, its your problem. Also, Armored Core 2: ANOTHER AGE does use the Analog control system, and can turn a lot faster, for people who CANT TELL THE DIFFERENCE between two different game titles! The only real problem that Armored Core 2 has is it doesnt use Analog, so your turning speed is too slow if u get attacked from behind. Guess what? You can turn around faster if u strafe and turn, and your enemy usually misses when u do that. You just have to deal. If you think about it, dont u realize that if your mech was real, it wouldnt be able to turn around on a dime! Another way to turn around fast is to jump in the air and turn while your jumping! In every other way, Armored Core 2 is almost prefect! And i have no idea what u mean when u say the combat isnt very good? Try actually getting used to this game and designing a better mech first!

Not quite as good as the original Armored Core 2.

After playing Armored Core 2 constantly for months, I found out about the second game in the series for PS2. Armored Core 2: Another Age is basically an expansion to Armored Core 2. It has around 100 missions. I'm not sure how many exactly because I haven't beaten it yet. The missions are even more diverse than on the first game. You are required to save fortresses, attack airborne transports, and even assassinate other Ravens. The AI is much better too. Although that may seem all good, it's not. It gets somewhat annoying having to do missions after mission after mission. The arena is completely gone. The only remnant is a mission where you have a somewhat friendly fight with another Raven. The mission replay value is zero. There are no hidden parts to go back and find. You get them by simply finishing a certain mission. Don't expect too much in the way of new parts though. I've gotten about ten and I'm at 91% completeion. About half of them are variants of other parts(i.e. lightweight chaingun and lightweight grenade launcher). Some missions can be extremely difficult. A later assignment forces you to assassinate a Raven and two of his buddies for selling secrets. You get the pleasure of getting the crap kicked out of your AC from three directions at once. They rarely split up and are hard to kill. You will most likely run out of ammunition before you win. The graphics in the game look the same as in the first one which was slightly disappointing. Not that the graphics were bad, but they should have been improved. The only improvements are the versus mission where you play missions against your friends and online play. You get to control your mech with the left analog stick but I think it's too sensitive to target well. It's a good game but only recommended for dedicated Armored Core fans.

TALK ABOUT THE RIGHT GAME!!

First of all, this is Armored Core 2: Another Age, not just Armored Core 2. Don't mix them up. Putting that aside, this game is also an expansion. Like games for the computer, you really need the game it is expanding, in this case Armored Core 2. While it is possible to play it on it's own, I don't really recomend it. You may use the game you created in the AC2, and if you do so, the game does not have the so-called steep learning curve, probably becuase you are already quite used to the controls, but really becuase you, hopefully, have a core that allows a little rough handling while learning the game. If not, then it will be so hard that you won't know how to continue on.
Gameplay wise, this game is only only minimally changed from the first Armored Core. It is still basically a giant robot you control to kill other robots with, and you still design every part of it. Yes, there are 100 missions, and believe me, it will take you more than just several hours to beat them. They get to being very hard in the middle, and I haven't even gotten past some of the middle levels yet, so those next levels I don't know much about. But the rest start out fairly easy, depending on how you play and how you disign you core, to being moderately hard, to being down right nasty. Some levels will take several tries to beat, especially when you fight two or three other AC's at the same time. Others will take a few minutes and then you forgot about them.
Controls are good. I personally do not like the current fad to use analog for everything, so the fact that I can use the digital controls is a big plus to me. If you want the analog, the left one does control movement, and it does it will, I just prefer d-pad, and always have. Looking up and down can be a problem, but only until you get the knack of it.
Replay is exellent. While there is no arena, which is a little upsetting, there is quite a large number of missions, and most take a very long time to complete. Then one must consider the actual parts themselves, in order to get them all, it takes a lot of effort and time, but is definately worth it.
Overall, I must recomend this game to everyone who likes their games to be enjoyable but does not need them to have as their only positives that they use every feature found on a system. Yes, the controls take a while to figure out, but then they are quite simple to use. So, if you like robot, or mech, or mecha, or whatever you call them, games, then get this game. If you like games that require no thought, very little challenge, and no reason to keep playing them, pass this one up.
