X5 is a big let down

Its too easy. The game was designed with younger players in mind. Doesn't follow the X series format and goes for more of a regular mega man game look. Its fun and all but it puts mega man games to shame. I've been playing mega man for 11 years and this is the first time I have ever wanted to complain to capcom about a mega man game. Oh yeah and the plot is stupid and pointless. No cool cut scenes! In short big let down for hardcore mega man fans! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! But you probably wount listen to me anyway. Wait for X6 to come out soon it should be totally cool!!

The game megaman x 5 its so cool because zero can olmost delete everyone. And megaman 5 boses for me. zero can jump and flip wiht his sword and X can shoot a big blast. the game is a realy cool adveture.

I think X5 is a very boring game.It's just way to easy.Compared to X4,X5 really sucks.The bosses are pittifully weak,and these names really sucked.Axle the Red?What kind of name is that? The only improved thing is the music and the anime films in the game.So if you haven't bought this yet,I suggest that you just forget about it.

This is the game to buy!If you read my review take my advice. The game is hard but fun! I've played X to X6 and they're all great!If you play this game you'll be a walking MegamanX and Zero freakazoid!

Yeah, it's my first PSone game and the best. Cool music, great soundtrack, challenging levels, superb graphics and amazing gameplay. You also get to duck!!! For the first time in MegaMan games, you get to duck!!!!! The bad? Well, Sigma's still annoying.

This Game is perfect. Yes u might find some problems,like in
passing the bosses or a specific part in the game. I been there.
It's every-thing you've wanted in an adventure game. One thing I don't like in this game is that X is too slow. And with OUT certain powers u might find yourself STOCK!!! The game speed is alright and so is the graphics. ...

After Mega Man X4 debuted for the PSX back in 1997 (well, there is a Sega Saturn version too, haha), I though I had played the best installment the X series had to offer. So when the sequel came out, a mere two to three years later in 2000, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the game only delivered an above average experence.

Gameplay wise, all the elements that make up a Mega Man game are present: select a stage, beat boss, gain weapon, take on the next boss, rinse, lather, and repeat. While this is all well and good, and what us Mega Man fans crave, X5 includes is share of problems. Most of the boss enemies are extreme pushovers, as most don't even require any specific strategy, hence you don't even really need to use the weapon they are weak against. Add to this fact Zero can almost crush the entire game with a single attack makes for somewhat shallow gameplay. The boss enemies also have really dumb names (if you know your music you'll realize each Maverick takes its name from the original members once-great band Guns 'n' Roses). Why Capcom ditched the tired and true "ability-animal" names and went with this stupid band member theme is beyond me.

X5's story is the game's highlight. Still I don't know why Capcom didn't choose make use of FMV's like in X4 to tell the story (obviously money was an issue here). Instead we get lame still shots and text telling the story. As far as X5's story climbs, there are some serious holes that hold it back. Add to this that Mega Man X6 ends up ruining any successful, logical, and believable continuation of X5's story, and you realize things are not so well in Mega Man land...

Overall, X5 is good game and a worthy addition to the series. Still, the fact that this game marks the point where Capcom got sloppy with the series will ultimately put Mega Man X5 near the end of most Mega Man fan favorite games lists.

Ok, i got MMX5 and as soon as i popped it in i was introduced to some fine lookin' anime for the opening sequence...i couldn;'t sit still i was so excited...however...

Come to the first scene and i noticed the one thing that REALLY bothered me....all the scenes are text, and still pics...no anime at ALL!! After playing MM8 and X4 i felt almost insulted that Capcom refused to add the cut scenes. But thats the my only real gripe with the game (except those STUPID enemy names...c'mon, Duff McWhalen? The Japanese names are MUCH MUCH better)

Gameplay is very solid, graphics are crisp and clean, smooth animations, and the different armors are great. If you're looking for a great 2D platformer, you can always count on MegaMan...

A must get game for Megaman fans!

This game is good but it could have been better and have been made longer and a bit harder. Overall the game is great if your a megaman fan but my advice is to get the megaman battle network ,the best game on GBA! The good thing about this game is that you get loads of new armors and colorful grapics and enjoyable levels, a bit hard at first but once your used to megaman style controls its easy.
