Horrible example and game for children and young adults.

This game is an irresponsible piece of design. Although the graphics and such are well done, the premise of the game alone is reason enough not to buy this for anyone under 18 years old. This game will send a terrible message to most people. When the object of the game is to commit crimes, and if your lucky, KILL A POLICE OFFICER for the local crime boss, it should not be purchased.

Just plain awesome.

In a world of gaming clones and games that just look beautiful, Grand Theft Auto stands out for simply being incredibly fun. For any serious gamer, this is a must buy.

GTA is one of the best games for the PSX that I've played

This game is so fun. You hi-jack cars, trucks, motorcycles, even cop cars. W/ the "Kill Frenzy", this game could keep you at the edge of your seat for hours upon hours. It's just too bad that you can't play two players, or if it was 3D, but the graphics are one of the cool parts.

Enjoy!!! :)

A great piece of ART!

This game would easily be a 5-star game if the graphics were not so primitive. But what the heck..........this game is so damn fun I think it deserves a 5 at heart. As for the negative critics you have your RIGHTS to judge, but if it offends you "Don't play it". It is not for "Little kids".....obviously but for anyone in High School its hilarious. Finally a game that talks the way we talk in this day and age.

I have been waiting for a great game like this.

When this game was released I wanted to play it so bad. So I went to rent it and it was not there. So I waited & waited finally it came in. And I have to say this was one of the better experiances I have had on the Playstation console. This game is huge and I love its freedom. Another good point is the controls that you can master in about an hour. The sound in this game is beautiful. We all know music adds to the climax of games but who could have thought it would have an impat like it has had in GTA. There is a bad point in the graphics, but other than that this is a great game that will have you playing it for hours.

This game rocks

Don't believe what the other person on here says about this game. it rocks. i'm 12 years old and i realize that video games are NOT REAL! if you think this is real, and it actually does send your kids messages then i have advice. take your childern's game system and toss it in the river, since they believe what they see is real. This game is very graphic and well, just not nice. i would only recommend it to people with common sense ot if your'e over 18

Not meant for kids, but lots of fun for adults

Grand Theft Auto is an interesting game, and, surprisingly difficult as well. While the language and violence of the game mean it should not be played by children (hence the M rating), adults should find it challenging and addictive.

Answer phones around the city to get your assignments. These range from picking up your boss after a bank robbery, to getting revenge on members of another crime syndicate, to even blowing up a police station with a tanker truck. If you break too many laws, the cops will be after you, and you'll have to learn a couple tricks to get away clean.

There are three cities available for play, and no structure to where you have to go. There's no path to follow, few time limits, and lots of freedom to just explore the city, drive around, and have fun.

Superb Gameplay

3 words. This game rocks. That's all I have to say...really. Sure, I'll admit this game has lower graphics than what other games had at the time of it's initial release, but in all other categories...it surpasses. And even it's controversy makes it a must buy. And yes...children should not play this game (blah...blah...blah...I'm sure you've heard it before...) but if you are an adult about this game...ok...maybe a teenager...heh heh...you'll love it. P.S.: Make it your business to keep government out of our lives...because this game and Xenogears (the RPG game of the century so far...) were almost not released in the US because of the damn government only because it might offend a few ignorant and one-sided people...anyways...have fun in your life...ALWAYS!!!

The best game ever.
