Gallop Racer a MUST HAVE!

If you love horses this is your game! I wanted to play ever since I found out about it. Finally, I found it and was hooked for days! One suggestion: RENT THIS GAME FIRST. It is very hard to figure out at first(I didn't even have instructions!) but once you get it, your gone! Some hints for fist time players, Only Ruin and Pattie's Rum are two really nice beginning horses, I bred them (one really fun feature) and the colt won his first race! But again, I suggest you rent or borrow this game first, you won't want to give it back!

My daughter was always renting this game from the video store and loved it so much that I decided to give it a try. I'm not much of a video game player, but I've got to tell you that this really is an awesome game, especially if you enjoy horses. It has so many different aspects to it that you never get bored! There's a lot to consider and I wish that the manual was just a tad more detailed in a couple of areas. That would be helpful when you are first starting out, but my 9 year old daughter was able to pick right up on the jest of the game, and with some help from me, she is really understanding and learning about the actual training and breeding end of horse-racing. She can race against the computer or against me, or just bet on races when she gets tired of that... The graphics are terrific and you can adjust the weather, the views and pick any number of horses and race tracks. It's so much fun that we don't want to stop playing it to take it back to the video store, so that is why we are buying our own copy... It's fun for ALL!

I got this game for my birthday! It is awesome! At the beginning, you buy some horses and race them. When they are finished racing, you can breed them and get a foal!
The whole point in the game is strategy. For around the first month, I never won a race. But I never gave up and still played the game. Now I am a pro!!!!
For anyone who loves horses just like me, will enjoy this game.

This game was SO cool! I practically play it 24/7! I admit I've won about half of the races, but I'm still trying to win a Grade I race! But it is still a huge hit!

If you like horses or being around the race track,then gallop racer should be a must game on your video list. It will put you not only there but right into the racing action itself. It will have you buying, managing & breeding horses. You'll be able to watch the horse races on the sidelines or get into the races as a jockey. A real exciting game that will hook you for hours at a time. The only downfall of this game is the race announcer. Her voice has got to go!

If you love flatracing, this game is made for you. Many horses and tracks to choose from. Not only must you worry about the quality of the horse, but of the quality of your own riding. Lots of fun, challenging to pick the right horse and riding style, although the graphics could use some work. Would be nice if one could tell if the horse was in good shape before the race, (if you've played the game, you know what i mean).

5/08/05 Update:

Perhaps I should have mentioned, there is also a mode of the game where you can simply watch a race, however I never much cared for this as the winner's name is highlighted in the name list that comes up before the race. Not much fun, I thought, when you know who's going to win.

I'd also like to mention that searching the net for a FAQ would be a good idea, because there are some races and horses in this game that can only be unlocked if you have won a certain race, or number of races, and sometimes you need to win these series of races with the same horse, at a certain age.

I love horses so when I saw this game I wanted it instantly! It was easy and challengeing depending on the race. There are lots of pretty horses to chose from, besides the different tracks and it's condition. It also helps you learn about different racing terms and picking the best odds.

Gallop racer is a great game if you love Horse Racing. It has over 100 horses to choose from and about 6 tracks. It's my advice for people to buy this because it is a great game.

Awesome, one of the best I played, each horse has a real personality, track conditions everything and more. A little tricky at first but it can be mastered. I recommend it for someone with alot of horse experience.

There I was running on the track with the horse that i created, I was so much fun!!! I can't belive how much fun it was. I usually get a new game play it for a few days and then get bored, but not this game. You'll never be able to put it down!!!
