This game is totally addictive. I am a 33 year old male, married with a three year old son and I can not get enouph of this game. I was not an avid gamer and my after my first time playing, I was hooked. The guy at the game store had to talk me into this game. I was like there is no way I am paying $49 for a game. This game is well worth the money even @$50.

Ok first off i bought this game after a couple of months it had been out. Some Pros and cons are:
Pros:
1. Good graphics
2. Good gameplay
3. Teamwork
4. 2 classes
Cons:
1. Not enough classes to chose from
2. Can only have 4 characters per account
3. 20 as a level cap
4. After you get a character or 2 to 20 it can start to become boring
Now i'll talk about the Pro #4. When you make a character you chose his primary class out of 6 classes. Only 6, too little a choice. Then you chose his secondary class out of the other 5 you didnt chose, which makes for good combonations on characters.
As for 20 being the lever cap, its way too low. People can level up to that in 3 days.
This game is addicting though, and it's very fun and not too hard to understand.
The interface needs a few more skills, but at least the screen isn't crammed, as in other games.
So considering everything i would really give it a 3.5 not a 3, but i don't think it is good enough for a 4.
Hope you read my review! Oh and by the way i am older than 13 but i really don't want to make an account just to make a review for one game.
Great Game!

Guild Wars is a game that can be played for hours on end. I've been playing it for over 1 year now, and it has brought many great hours of gameplay to my life. The graphics are great, replayability is great, and Guild Wars has kept me coming back for more for a long time now.
I highly recommend this game for people who like titles such as World of Warcraft, Neverwinter Nights, and any other RPG's out there. Try it, I hope you like it!

Finally, the game that everyone's waiting for has come. The Diablo 3. Well, sort of. The real name of the game is called Guild Wars, and it was developed by the co developers of Starcraft, Warcraft, and finally, Diablo itself. It's just basically Diablo 3 which has similar gameplay as Diablo 2 but with better graphics and more.
Like the other reviewer, I have played the beta on last days of October, and I got to tell you, it's hell of a game. Since, I'm in a hurry, I won't tell you much about the game but just tell you some stuff that other reviewer left out.
The graphics are simply, amazing(At one moment throughout the game, I noticed myself staring at the water details for like 1 minute just checking out the details because it was so shiny and watery). To get the best out of the game, you would need the new GeForce 6800 or Radeon X800, but the system which I have tried on still made the game look sharp and almost life-like. The system was Athlon XP 3200+, 512mb pc3200 ram, GeForce 5700LE overclocked 256mb 8x, and DSL. It was on 1024x768 with on auto detect settings which was on high settings.
But the one thing that I really think that was smart of the developers was the download and play system(This way, you won't need to waste 2 hours installing 3GB HD space which this game will probably be overall or something close to it). I'm not sure that's what it was called but that's how it works. First, all you need is 62kb client which will let you download the launcher. After that, you need to register. When you create your character and play it will download the files that you will need to get to that main area. It will happen everytime you go to a new area. Also, I don't know if this happens to all computers, but my loading times were about 5 seconds which is very fast. The downloading might take longer depending on the connection speed.
Besides this, the other reviewer(G. Coope) pretty much mentioned the main stuff. The reason why I gave 5 instead of 4 was because I know that this game will be much better than the beta.
Graphics-10 (better than any other MMORPG games except for Everquest 2 and Lineage)
Gameplay-10 (like Diablo 2)
Sound-9 (decent music but nothing extraordinary)
Replay Value-8 (after playing like 10 hours straight you will eventually get tired of it but after 30 minutes pass by, you will be hacking and slashing again)
Difficulty and learning curve-9 (medium and 30 minute learning curve)
Overall-9.2 (a Must Have!)
I hope this beta review was helpful.
A Fun and Addictive Game!!

Let me preface this review by saying that this is the first MMORPG I have ever played. I have nothing else to compare it to, so this review is based entirely on my opinion.
I'm not a big gamer (obviously!) but my husband is. He has played EQ and NWN, though not as much recently. He got GW for Christmas from my sister and got immediately hooked. After I teased him for weeks about his incessant gameplaying he went out and bought me a copy, downloaded it on my computer and had me create a character.
Well, I was forced to eat my words as I became the one playing till 3 am! The graphics are stunning, the cut-scenes fun as you get to see your own character in them (even your pet and/or mini pet is in the scene!). The game starts in Pre-Searing Ascalon, where the landscapes are lush and green, with forests, streams and waterfalls. As your character progresses and levels up, the storyline progresses and you enter Post-Searing Ascalon, where the landscapes are barren and burnt, the lakes and streams turned to tar. As you explore more of the map you will find sparkling beaches, murky swamps, snowy mountains, jungles, vast deserts and the volcano area of the Ring of Fire. The lava flow is spectacular and will remind you of Hawaii.
I have completed the game with one character, and am now playing 2 other characters. I like the option of creating a party with other players or henchmen. Granted, the henchmen are not brilliant, but when lack of time or lack of other players forces you to use them, you can still complete missions and quests with them. Also, the henchies don't yell at you and call you a noob! ;-) The skill quests are a fun way to get new skills, but you have the option of 'buying' the skills through a skill trainer. The downside of that is you have to spend skill points to buy skills.
I haven't played the PvP option very much, so my review is on the PvE only.
GW is a fun game, made better by the lack of a monthly fee (very enticing to a new gamer like me). I have found it to be very re-playable as you work on discovering how to play the different classes and in trying new builds on my level 20 Elementalist. The fact that the characters have a second class, and the fact that when you get far enough into the game you have the option of changing your second class, gives you endless combos and build options.
Just be aware of the fact that the game is addicting, and you may find yourself spending hours playing and end up wondering where the time went!
Bought it, installed it, played it!!!

wonderful game for all. want to play alone, want to play with family and friends or do you enjoy playing with people you meet within the game?...this game makes it all possible. Guild Wars is what you make it. Best of all no monthly fee! my family is all grown up and out of the nest. We all have busy lives, and yet every night we get together and play for a few hours. we don't all have "team speak", so we use three-way calling, extension phones, and or speaker phones. so we play, talk and have a blast. At certain times we play solo when others in the family are not availble or have a certain thing one of us needs or wants to accomplish within the realm of the game. It reminds me of the days when the family would sit around the table and play a board games together. In this Nuclear Age when we find ourselves separted by miles and spread out all over the country this game and games like it, makes it possible to be together.
even better than WoW

This game has me hooked. I always thought that Warcraft would be the best but I soon discovered that it is not that great. They have the worst support in the world. This game is kind of the same as WoW so I thought I would try it out. Right in the begining it was the best. There were NO MONTHLY FEES!! I love this game soooooooo much. I was really impressed by the graphics. They are the best I have seen in my life. Not only are the graphics good but you get to do more PvP I simply love it. I am sorry WoW fans but this game is soooooooooo much better.
Thank God for World of Warcraft!!

Ok, I have read the other reviews and though they have some good points I still can't believe the good reviews coming in on this game! MMORPG - Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game! Massive is not getting your own instance of every outside world other than the towns you happen into.
Part of the fun in any MMORPG is that you are in this virtual world where there are other characters just like you trying to do exactly what you are doing. You get to see funny things, sad things, exciting things etc. This game forces you to group in each city before you go out on an adventure. Thats not fun at all. In World of Warcraft you go where ever you want and you see other players and you can group at any time, that is exciting, that is what you want in a game, right? In this game it even constrains you as to where you can step and go. I can't jump off a cliff if I want to!! I can't swim if I want to!! The animals walk through water at the bottom!! What is this? In World of Warcraft you can go wherever you want, and that is one of the most exciting things about it. The game play is much more intuitive, the sound and visuals are much more engaging even if they are more cartoony, they are still more interesting and exciting. Grouping on the fly is exciting and is much more ejoyable than what Guild Wars has to offer.
Here is a typical run through Guild Wars:
Ok, I am in the City, All of these weird Characters that have to have 2 names are swarming around doing weird dances! The Characters look like a bunch of NY City Nightclub Rejects that fell off the high fashion runway!! The warriors look like extras from the set of Gladiator with their little Roman skirts on. The Necromancers look like they all run S&M Parlors. The atmosphere and sound just don't grab you at all.
So you go out on your own, into the wilderness unless you pick up some people to go with you. You actually have to do this if you want to complete most of the quests. Controls and Gameplay are not for beginners and that is why this game is not rated that high. The controls are very akward and the fact that the game dictates where and where you can't go just blows. You never no if you are walking into a dead end or not and have to turn around and go back! No voice overs from the NPC's at all, poor sound effects, music, and atmosphere put you to sleep.
After a few boring quests and combat situations with mobs that have no personality you go back to town feeling cheated out of your $49.99. Do your self a favor, save the money and get World of Warcraft or just stick with it if you already have it. There is a reason they charge a monthly fee, it's better! And sure there is no lag in this game you are the only freeken player in the environment most of the time! If WoW was like that you wouldn't have any lag either.
A big thumbs down! Sorry!!

Dont get me wrong Guild Wars is an Awesome game. But who would choose this over World of warcraft i mean its some much better. Well anyway Guild Wars is one of the best Online games out there. The Graphics are the average graphics. But the backround is so detailed and has so many people playing it. The great thing about this game is the story, and your level ups and weapons are nice. And it is cool you can trade with people in the city and stuff. There are also places where you join together with 3 other people and fight them to gain coins that is. There are 6 different types of characters to choose from and you can choose a cool name to go along with your character. The special feature is that you can join a guild with lots of other people, they can join your party and do quests together. To all the Scenary to the weapons and Chating and quests and levels and magic, battles and Guilds to join it is by far one of the best PC Games around. O yea one more thing it is FREE. Thats right the whole damn online play is free. Not the game. It is to good to miss if you have a PC. I give it 5 stars.
