I like all kinds of games: adventure, RTS, RPG, FPS, platformer, and a variety of cross-genre games. For example, I thoroughly enjoyed Rogue Squadron, Red Alert, Age of Empires, Zelda games, Metal Gear Solid and so on. However, one thing that I consistently like is the feeling of freedom in a game. Game developers have to think about the limits of the console and the goal of the game, but...
I played about 4 hours of it and thought this game [...stunk]. Boring gameplay, virtually no feeling of freedom (2-D), and that irritating nonsensical language. I do have the odd feeling, though, that if you like anime, that you might like this game. I don't personally like anime, but the bosses and characters sure gave me the feeling that those types of folks might get a kick out of this game.
Too Short,Too Easy,Not fun at all!

Poeple are saying that this game is too easy and too short. But they also say it's fun! What type of game is easy and short yet fun?I don't quite understand.I would much rather have a game that made me want more.A game that takes more than just one day to play.I don't see how this simple childish game can appeal to anyone.Although I might be wrong,[not!]

If you want a game that is frustrating, annoying, tiring, childish and plain boring buy this game ! The only time i liked to play it is when I was on the verge of dying from being bored. There is a stage ( I think it's called mirror something ) is really confusing . But if you do want a pointless no plot story go for Klonoa , but if you want a story worth your time get one of these titles. Any Final Fantasy game , any Fatal Frame game. I hope this was helpful to you .
Not Really Good.

I have to be honest I hate childish games, they are so annoying and sometimes too cute for me. But this game is some what fun there is nothing really to unlock just to play the game and finish it.I only play it because I am just so damn bored. This game is only good for girls or boys that are below the age of 11, well that is what I think I really don't care if you buy it or not I am just saying think twice before u waste your money you might regret it later on. It's an alright game.
Good for kids, but too easy....

This game would be fine for kids age 5-12, but I was dissapointed by how easy the game is. Also, I don't understand why everyone is saying the graphics are wonderful. They seem pretty mediocre to me. They are very jagged and very simplistic. I've seen better graphics on some PS One games. Again, great for young kids, but not for anyone with gaming skill.
great rental, decent buy

First let me say this is a solid game. I think I had my hopes up pretty high since all the reviews I read were really strong. To be fair, it is a good game but people made it sound really original. "The best title no one bought" I figured. Well, let me tell you there is a reason to rent before you buy. The tone of the game is sickly sweet. Beyond anything I had ever seen -- although a solid rental Id probably hold back on a purchase unless you are a BIG platform fan. Play it first to test you intestinal fortitude. It is that sweet. I felt like a 6 year old.
Gameplay: Pretty solid, a lot like the recent gameboy advance mario (or the super nes title it was based on). Essentially you jump and pick up baddies to either use them or throw them. Not especially breakthrough but classic. There is also a little variety in some levels where you sort of ride a variety of things (those of you who played crash bandicoot have seen it done better).
graphics: No faulting the title graphically. It is spectacular. you will love the graphics. for my money it is a step ahead of rayman. I really liked the graphics - just superb.
sound: oh god. Think of the most sappy crappy aweful thing you can eat, now eat it. Now vomit it up. This is a close approximate to the music here. It is REALLY bad. frankly it destroys the game. It is BAD. which brings us to the next part...
Story: Equal to the music. I know it is a game and really who cares but it is notably bad. Few games have done such a bad job of making gameplay worthwhile. It is like the worst pokemon reject script ever (not in content but in quality). It would not be entertaining for a 4 yr old.
Control: I have to say this is another bright spot. They did a good job. The game is on rails which makes the camera work easier for a programer, but still overall quite good. Job really well done.
Overall the game is good but not any kind of breakthrough. People really seem to want to build this up as a hardcore platform game for those who want to avoid the rush to bigger name characters. Id have to say the game is more like a really solid platform game that will appeal to fans of this type of game. Those that can wait should definitely rent it first. It is not the next sonic or mario or crash.

When i first threw this game into the old ps2, i was like "what ever." but after i got my first glimpse of klonoa 2's decent graphics and mediocre gameplay, i was like "ok." Don't be frightened off by klonoa 2's colorful cover or it's friendly little main character, this game is totally average. call in to work and send the kids out for dinner, cause can't no one pry da boys away from this modern version of donkey kong with a twist of 007. rent this game!!!!!

Why the heck did I buy this game?

No, I'm quite serious. Why the heck did I buy this thing? The collection of titles (as of this writing) is really slim pickings. Especially for someone who's been playing games since Atari was at their height of power. So I saw the previews and figured "What the heck?" I'll pre-order the thing from Amazon.
So the big day arrives and I get a small package from Amazon. Tear open the package and popped in the DVD. Hhhmm cute graphics and smooth animation. Well, I wasn't two minutes into the game when I hear a squeal from behind me. It's my girlfriend who wants to play the game. So I figured, "Hey, why not?" and handed over the controls. Well, that was a big mistake. I haven't been able to play my PS2 since.
So looking over her shoulders, the game is a sort of 3D'ish side scroller. Navigation is limited to left or right motion (There are spots where this deviates from that, but it's a moot point) reminiscent of some of the later Mario or Sonic games. The game's graphics are incredibly clean and are a clue to the future power of the PS2 and it's ilk.
In short this game is perfect to keep the little brat or girlfriend off of your back for a while. However, I do have some gripes about the game. The game gives the illusion that it supports two player control however, this is not true. The "second" player is nothing more than a helper for the first when the first player is in trouble. Useful for very young players but extremely boring for any one else. What I don't understand is if the developers felt that this was a necessity why is this option only available on the second controller? It should have either been all or nothing. Full control of the second character for the second player or the ability to map the control of the second character to the first controller. Not this half planned junk that Namco attempted. The story is also pretty decent but never really answers the question, "What the heck is Klonoa?" I suppose this question is actually answered in the original. Too bad Namco didn't notice that the original game is going for insane amounts of money. They could've made a quick buck by re-releasing the game.
Oh well, life bites. But hey, that's what I get for buying this game. I suppose I should be able to play my PS2 as soon as my girlfriend quits playing Klonoa 2, that is of course if she doesn't discover my copy of Dark Cloud.
