waste of money...

I haven't gotten too far into this game and I don't think I really have to. Everything about this game so far is annoying. The characters, the constant tutorials, the voices of the characters... I think the most annoying character is the transvestite. I'm annoyed that they even had characters in there like that without advertising it on the box. I hate this game and as soon as I have the time I will be trading it in towards a new game at gamestop or selling it on craigslist... i wouldn't even give it one star if that was an option...ugh...

Without wasting my breath on something so not worth it's time... let me say this game stinks to high heaven and warn you DO NOT BUY IT! It is god awful need I say more.

It takes on a Final Fantasy feeling but is full of transvestite under tones, also one of your characters is a full out flamer. It feels like a cheesy and i mean CHEESY anime full of senseless head smacking jokes that leave you with a headache and a dullness that I cannot even grab at the words at this time.

Please for your own sake rent this or something before you lay down 50 bucks on it. I bought it before any comments were on the site because the graphics looked good and boy did I waste my money on this.

Terrible game

This game has bad graphics, bad music, and bad gameplay. The voice acting is horrible! The characters are horrible! Additionally, the font they use in this game is too thin and blurry to be seen clearly on a medium sized television.

The only positive feature that this game does have is smooth controls. Beyond that, I can only say that the graphics are better in game, such as when you are walking around the city or in combat than in the stills and conversations, though not up to the level where I could identify it as a next gen game. The graphics for the conversations, some of the cutscenes, stills, ect. are much worse. They are extremely bad looking.

Avoid this game at all costs.

This game blows!

I rented this game - thank G! The dialog is never-ending. It seems most of the game consists of your character and two others yapping at each other. And I have no problem with one of them being gay but does he have to mention it every other word, it gets old? Durring this dialog, You have to press "x" about 4,000 times to get them to shut up and to find anything to do. You finally look forward to the idea of fighting to find it the same darn fight all the time. They don't even have the decency to show you the evil characters as you come upon them you just start walking and whoosh it is is time to fight something. I made it through about 13% and was so bored I had to stop. It is sad the the PS3 FINALLY has a game or two and this one stinks. Don't buy it, don't even rent it.

I hadn't heard very good things about Enchanted Arms, but I was still amazed when I saw the game. I'm doubtless I'll get killed on "was this review helpful for you", but I wasted my time and money on this game, and hopefully I can help someone avoid the same mistake.

The opening cinematic was impressive. Throughout the game the graphics were par-level for other current games. Overall, it's a unabashed Final Fantasy rip-off. The character dialogue was ridiculous and the translations were not quite right. The game broke no new ground in gameplay.

Other reviewers have noted that the game became more fun after an hour or two of play. Suffering through 15 minutes of the character deciding what he wanted for lunch, although I continued to play, I'm afraid I reached the point of no return on this game. The plot is directionless and rittled with cliche. The most incriminating part of the game is wading through the "story" by watching two characters speak to each other. They aren't even animated. They move their arms and their mouths making generic motions that are supposed to simulate them speaking, I guess. Story elements like character development were skillfully hidden amidst all the lame dialogue. I didn't know they made games this bad still (that weren't a movie-to-game scenerio). I'm a big RPG fan, but I felt like my time might be better spent on nearly anything else. There are other excellent games as alternatives to this one.

As a side note: My 10 year old nephew loves the game as it's a big step up from Pokemon. I'm not so sure.

Not worth buying, and you can't get higher than 5 dollars when you trade it in, because no one likes this game. The dialog goes on forever, and not much happens. When you do get into a fight ant's always the same. Very boring game.

Complicated fight system

The story line seems to be good, but the fighting system its too tactical and complicated, about graphics, they are good but not for what a PS3 it is capable of.

Good value for $20. Game improves after first hour.

The main thing that Enchanted Arms is guilty of is having a slow intro and an obnoxious character. I found myself frowning for the first 1-2 hours of this game, but then enjoyed it greatly after that. The majority of the poor ratings this game has gotten come from people who played it 15-30 minutes. Don't trust those reviews.
Graphics - Graphics are mediocre for next-gen, but look good if you are coming from a PS2.
Sound - Decent voice acting for the most part, typical RPG music fare.
Gameplay - Deep battle system requires much thought and planning, each individual battle feels like a fast paced Tactics battle. I recommend this game based on gameplay and battle systme alone.

Is this game great? Probably not. But for 20$ it fills the gap of RPG's that the next-gen systems are currently feeling.

Middle of the road quirky RPG w/inane redundant dialogue

Wow it isn't just the first 1 or 2 hrs that can be really hard to take in the world of ENCHANTED ARMS. An affordable PS3 game is always welcome and this one can be had cheaply but there are reasons. The voice acting as others have stated is truly unlistenable, in no small part because of the vampy Makoto character but it isn't the voices that make it so bad no that honor goes to the amazingly stiff, repetitive and awfully written dialogue. Toya will take you through little hold your hand tutorials that are 99% of the time a lesson in pressing X. There is some good here the graphics are decent and clean if a little linear and symetrical. Collecting the pokemonesque golems can be addictive and the grid battle turn based system can be fun in a lightly strategic way. It just feels like the game is always stopping to talk when Atsuma wants action, and throwing you into repetitive battles when you are craving a little depth to the storyline. Both of which would be fine if the storyline or battle system weren't so repetitive, and no pressing X to climb a ladder or move a platform doesn't really spruce up the gameplay. For some reason though (masochist?)I enjoyed myself but I had to switch to the japanese language voices just to avoid the mind crushingly dull dialogue and voice work. How a game manages to be weird and offbeat and drab at the same time is baffling but EArms pulls it off. In the end despite some occasionally nice looking graphics and a mildly intriguing golem (monster) capturing system Enchanted Arms is going to be harder to go back to as some really FINE RPGs hit the PS3 in coming months.

When I first saw this game I thought it looked cool. Over 130 playable characters, RPG, PS3...It should have been good, but meh...Turn based, less than appealing gameplay, special effects are cheap...

It is an OK game if you like turn based games and whatnot, but for the average gamer, just pass on this. This is strictly for the Hardcore RPGer!
