Based on the cartoon of the same name, archaeologist Jackie Chan embarks on a race against time to recover the eight Magical Scrolls of Kung Fu before they fall into the evil clutches of the Dark Hand. The game perfectly matches the cartoon's look and feel; the graphics are sharp and the music catchy. Uncle, Jade, and Captain Black are present, as are the various henchmen of the Dark Hand, including Hak Foo, Valmont, and the demon Shendu. Jackie Chan Adventures: Legend of the Dark Hand is a side-scrolling fighting game, similar in some ways to Final Fight. Players have a huge array of kung fu moves, and you'll learn extra moves with each magic scroll you collect. Fighting is really fun--you can pick up items with your feet or hands, throw objects or enemies, and punch or kick just about anything on the screen. If you are a little rusty with your kung fu, the game offers a great training option that schools you on all the moves before you actually play. And with three difficulty levels, this game can be geared to just about any player.
If you're looking for a fun--and funny--game with huge levels and great kung fu action, look no further. Jackie Chan Adventures definitely delivers. --Bryan Karsh
Pros:
- Animation and fluid kung fu moves nicely capture feel of the cartoon
