Make a PC version and I'll think about it...

Call of Duty started on the PC and there's no PC version of CoD3? What's up with that, Activision? I know it's common to put out an FPS game on consoles, but let's face it, FPS games suck with those teeny controller joysticks.

Put it out on the PC where you can REALLY play it and I'll considering coughing up the cash for it.

Intense, but not incredible

Well, to start out, the game is full of fun action, next to you there might be a German ready to take you down with his rifle in hand to hand combat, one behind a door waiting to shoot you, or a Panzer tank that will blow you to pieces. You get to play as the Americans(favorite), which just completely invade the Germans. The Polish who bring in their armor and blow up the Germans. The Canadians, I can't really say, they just come in with nice supply of troops. But I was upset with the gameplay of the "British" you play more like a special soldier, because you mainly fight with the French guys who die really easily and speak to much French, while your hardcore British ally is arguing with them. You only get to fight as a soldier or command a tank, no boats, no planes, but it is still fun because there is so much chaos, and explosions, tanks, soldiers, air raids, and artillery (this amount of chaos is only put in some levels). The graphics are nice and the details are put in well but they are NOT perfect. However, the movie graphics are amazing and I enjoy watching them, with the option to view movies, guns, vehicles, and characters - which is very nice. Overall the game is fun and historically accurate, even with a few interviews of real soldiers added in. But also the game is short and limited with only 14 levels of playing as 4 different allied soldiers, only in the Battle of Normandy/France... it goes no further. I would recommend buying this game for a cheap price if you can find it.

An Incredible Game

This game is a must have for those of you who still are clinging to their Xbox at the twilight of it's life cycle. Treyarch and Activision have demonstrated their ability to create engaging gameplay, and show their technical know-how with amazing graphics. However, the single-player game is very easy on normal. It takes more than you would think to die, and your health automatically replenishes. Actually, there isn't even a health meter. Nazis die easily, and you can plow through a level in know time. The levels, on a sidenote, are very linear, however very amazing.

Oh, and Xbox Live is incredible as well...when it works. For some reason, it's very hard to connect to a server, because it says "game no longer available" for 9 of the 10 times i try to connect (this is on servers with player slots leftover). However, once you get connected (it takes patience, but eventually it works) it's usually worth the pain. There are several different modes of play that are all fun and easy to learn. Dying doesn't take much, which is a mixed bag for some people (i think it's good, its more realistic and the upper hand player should win the battle) and the vehicles...man, their fun. And the framerate online remains very steady, i have a 384 kbps in/out connection and runs very smoothly.

thats what i have to say for this game. Although getting into an online match is tough, it's still worth 50 dollars because the game is SO DARN FUN.

The campaign details are very good. The game is very enjoyable, but it does not have the multi-player option. I wish I knew that before I bought it.

As a casual gamer that plays perhaps 1-2 hours per day then this is a great game. I would say that I would love to pick this game if I wanted something to destress my day after work or after playing a hardcore game for 8 hours. This is your simple mindless shooting game where you can run around and shoot your enemies. The cuts scenes are nice but I play at night and hardly have the volume up since others are sleeping. So far I haven't found anything that the cut scene has that was crucial so your basic "find enemy and shoot" is your goal. Map design is a bit boring and like the other reviewer has said the textures tend to repeat a lot. You'll often wonder where to go because the trees are blocking your view but your team mates sort of prompts you on where to go which is good because it gives a realistic feel. Even though you'll often go gun crazy in this game you wont feel as if you're rambo because there are always team members folowing or leading. The bad part is that sometimes it is very hard to know who the enemy is if you plan on taking an alternate path.

The battles: They are very gripping and fun to play through. Levels are mostly lineer with nav points on the radar prompting you where to go. Nothing too complicated. The melee punches are fun to use but the grenade seems to be rather useless at times. Can't shoot and throw a granade at the same time. Players stand there winding up a granade and hope that the soldier's A.I. isn't smart enough to see you. Often times I would empty several more rounds into an enemy that is already dead but I could not tell because his death animation ended above the ground making him look as if he was standing.

Finaly thoughts: Its a fun game to rent or just pick up for cheap. Short and gets to the point. I'm sure you'll know exacty what you will get.

The player has less control over the health of the soldier. Health restores after a few seconds of avoiding fire rather than picking up first aid packets. This is not a bad thing but needs to be gotten used to. The computer appears to do more for you than in call of duty 2 which makes it an easier game to just pick up and play but also negates the skills learned in playing the other call of duty releases. Overall it has excellent graphics and is an enjoyable experience.

Big improvement over other COD games

I bought COD3 for my long-in-the-tooth-but-still-kicking XBOX before I got any other COD games and was quite impressed with the graphics, gameplay etc. as other reviewers have noted.

Now that I just finished COD2 Big Red ONE, I can say there is a HUGE difference in COD3 - it's much better

What I was particularly impressed with is the game AI. In Big Red One, it seems every German took 2-3 shots to kill - reminded me of the old Wolfenstein or Doom days. They just kept popping up again like punching bags.

This is MUCH better in COD3, as is the interaction w/ your squad mates.

Unlike other people, I found it tough to plays this 1-2 hours at a time. I'm afraid I rand through it in about 3 sessions including a few late nights early into the morning. I guess that is a test of how good a game is.

I got this game for my boyfriend. He really likes the graphics and how realistic it looks. The only thing about it is that sometimes its way to hard and there's to many guys coming at you at once you almost need a second player to help you. Overall its a good game.
