Ok, this game is just pure fun. Yes, that is what I said, pure fun. You start off by making your own team (for the cats at start), and after you win a mission you get to be the pigs and make your own team for them, all too good. This game has different gameplay modes also, some are: single player, single player co-op, multiplayer vs., plus tests in the single player, and I can't forget to say that you can buy different (usually better) equipment for your team. Also, the multiplayer is great. Because you can upgrade your team in the multiplayer between matches. It's just pure fun. If I were you, I would leave your house right this instant and go buy this game at the nearest store. I hope that this review helped you! (I really do!)
Nothing compared to the original.

I'll be blunt about my feelings for the first Blinx game- it's my absolute favorite Xbox game, even beating the likes of Panzer Dragoon Orta, Knights of the Old Republic, Metal Slug 3 and Guilty Gear X2 #Reload. It had so much charm while being fun and challenging at the same time. Exploring the worlds with *gasp* a time limit, upgrading Sweepers, and trying to take out that damn final boss (seriously, that's the single toughest final boss I've ever encountered since I started playing games in '88). Whatever Blinx had to offer, I took it, and ended up mastering the game, getting S+ ranks in every single level, all the Secret Cat Medals, and making it a fact that there isn't a "hidden fourth dimension level". Now that you understand that, I can say this- Blinx 2 just isn't very fun. I could tell that just from the demo videos I saw. Everything was changed. Targeting systems for sissies that can't aim on their own, a first person mode, rank up exams and more, what did they do to my poor Blinx? A lot. That's what.
The story of the game is much deeper than the first game's, I'll give it that. The Tom Tom Gang's leader Benito had a dream about a beautiful girl, Mina. She wants him to recover a big crystal. Why, we never find out. It's this girl that drives Benito to making his gang attack the Time Factory and looking for the big crystal. Meanwhile, the Sweepers are fending off attacks by invincible green Tom Toms (think Recorded Blinx, only in Tom Tom form, and that's what you get). They evacuate, and learn about the big crystal's power. They too, now go for all the shards. The story, while deep, is boring. What I'll never understand is the Mina-Benito relationship. She tells him to find the crystal every other cutscene, and that's all. No logic behind why she's talking to him of all people, just a simple "please do this for me" and that's that. But this is how the game starts, and we see that everything's changed since the first game. Now, you have to earn the ability to use certain time controls, and even do rank up exams before getting to use them/go into the next world. There's even a shop that you can spend your cash on, but it's more complex than the first game's shop. Now you can stock items to recover health, add health, upgrade the Sweeper with new parts, reserve ammo and more. It gets confusing, and this feature is unnecessary. I went through the whole game without once upgrading my Sweeper, but instead, bought better models without adding things to it. But if you played the first Blinx, most of the Sweepers' levels are the same as they were there. Though the 10 minute time limit is gone, and you now have health instead of retries each time you get hit. There are usually 2 options on how to complete the level with them, both equally benal. Having the use of only 2 Time Controls in the first world wasn't challenging, but it didn't make sense. The Sweepers are masters of time control, so why are they limited on what they can use? I'll admit though, combining time controls was pretty cool. Using fast forward and slow motion at the same time to do super jumps was cool.
At least with the Tom Tom Gang, they can use their items without needing to do certain tasks beforehand. That's not saying their portion of the game is better. In fact, I quit playing the game for about 3 weeks before coming back to their first level. It's not really about "stealth" as much as it's about trying to figure out where the hell to go thanks to the poor level design. I'm serious, in the third level of the first world for them, you rely on sheer luck to make it through that area. I ended up blindly throwing a teleportation grenade to make it where I needed to go. At the end of most of their levels, you bag some treasure, and make it all the way back to the beginning without being spotted by Sweepers. This, did end up being challenging, as you walk very slowly while moving with the treasure. Plus your weapons are limited, and you always seem to run out of the best one when you need it. Particularily the Black Hole Grenade and the Containment Grenade. These suckers worked wonders when used, but you only have so many before running out. Then it was up to the almost worthless guns to do the job. And the thing is, once you shoot a Sweeper, they automatically damage you with a counter attack. Pray that you have more health than they do. Something I want to ask though, is why are the Tom Toms the "masters of space"? They only have 2 real space-related weapons (the ones I just mentioned), and everything else is more of a mechanical gadget. Decoy pigs, cloaking devices, etc. Both sides though, get one slightly cool feature: usually in the final stage of each world, there are team free for all battles. A group of Sweepers vs a group of Tom Toms. These are usually chaotic and fun. This is where the mutliplayer feature really kicks in. Though, you can up the stats on your team by going to the locker room in between stages, it isn't necessary. Again, I never once did this, and it didn't drag me down once.
The graphics are both better and worse than the first game's. Everything runs much smoother, I almost want to say at 60fps. But, a lot of the finer detail that Blinx had is missing. You can't see the fur on the Sweepers as much, and everything's more cartoony. And the excellent water effects in the original are gone. Shame. As for the music, while it's missing the charm of the original's soundtrack, it has its memorable bits. Actually, a lot of the music here reminds me of the earlier Sonic games, which is a good thing. Especially the last few Sweeper levels. Sound effects are retained, and newer ones fit in with the game's atmosphere well. The voices though, could've been better. A lot of the Sweeper voices don't match the part, and the Tom Toms are a pain to listen to. Check out the wonderful matching for mouth movements too.
Blinx 2 has a lot of problems, and is a big step down (from a big fan of the first game's point of view anyway. Tons of other people seem to like this game more) in every aspect. Why is this even called "Blinx 2"? Blinx has a cameo more than anything. You never once get to play as him. And get this- they give him a big scar on his face to make him look like more of a tough leader in one of the opening cutscenes. Sad. Hopefully though, this one sells enough to warrant a third game, where everything goes back to how it used to be. Either way, I'll always be a big fan of the character of Blinx. He's a cool, underrated character.
Blinx 2 is better than the first!

Blinx 2 has overall better graphics and is harder to accomplish the levels, which makes it challenging. One thing i didn't really like is that lack of saving allowed like was in the first. After completing a stage, there is no save until you complete the whole level and for us older xBox players whom have other responsibilities in life, playing out a full level before saving is hard to do at times. Otherwise, it is wonderful!
Very disappointing

I loved the original Blinx and coulnd't wait until Blinx 2 came out. I think I can sum up Blinx 2 with the following statement:
Blinx 2 is the most confusing, incoherent pile of garbage ever foisted onto the gaming public.
The story mode features a choppy story line that has you playing as the good guys one minute, then forces you over to the bad guys side for the next level. Game play features near-constant interruptions from the "home base", giving what is usually obvious and unnecessary advice.
The views are hard to control and sometimes inadequate. Overall, this game was a huge disaapointment.
What the....?

O.K. I'm not the smartest when it comes to figuring out games, but I just can't get beyond the first level. I mean, I keep finishing the level but I can't figure out what to do to advance after that. It just keeps going back to the start. Nothing in the book tells me how to do it and I'm just really frustrated 'cause I would actually like to continue playing the game and I CAN'T!
