unbelievable.....this game i thought would be one of the greatest games that i would encounter...so i immaediately bought the game...i was so ashamed of the game i returned it within four days...the graphics are terrible and made me not even want to look at the game... i figured that i had better get rid of this game before one of my friends see it, play it and laugh at me...i was satisfied to get 25 dollars for this fifty or sixty dollar game...it was so boring...i don't even remember if it had sound effects...the story just makes me sigh and shake my head in pity...the nerve someone had to make such a mockery of a game...its bringing back bad memories to even think of the game....DEFINITELY RENT BEFORE PURCHASING.

This game stinks! I hate it! The olny level I liked was a snow one that had two parts to it, I couldent unlock any levels so I olny had 2. The stupit level I also had was this masion thing that was impossible! I hated to stick those things in the vents and of the vents I ALWAYS got caught. Yes, this game does have good video but thats it.

Worst N64 Game Ever

... In more ways then one, it trys to match the style and fun of Goldeneye, but fails miserably. Considering this game was made after Goldeneye, you would think it would at least have quality graphics, but no. Gameplay and control is horrible and frustrating, where it offers only one controller set up and one camera angle where you are stuck behind the character. The missions are vrey booring too. This game is very hard even on the "possible" setting and has glitches where you loose the missions at the end after doing everything your supposed to.
Do yourself a favor and never play this horrible game.

Why cant i put 0 stars?

This mission really is impossible

Wow, when I bought this game I thought it would be cool to be a secret agent in a video game. Boy was I wrong on this one. First of all, this game really is impossible. I luckily got to the second mission but I didn't get any further than that. And now this game is collecting dust on the shelf. This one is only for truly diehard fans of the series. And good luck!

What's worse? This game or Tom Cruise's ego?

One complaint people had about the movie was that it was almost nothing like the TV show (thanks to Tom Cruise's behind-the-scenes editing to make himself a bigger star). If those people were to play this game, they would probably have an anerism.

This game is some-what modeled after the movie. You're in Prague and trying to get secret files at a party. As you might expect, you have to accomplish tasks assigned to you - you know, pick up a sheet of paper, give it to a guy, walk into a bathroom, put some thing in a drink, really exciting stuff...

...oh wait, I'm sorry. There are two arctic levels beforehand. Never mind. You have to do those first before getting on to the actual film part.

OK, back to the game proper. You enter the KGB headquarters of Prague (didn't know the Czechs were still Communist) and help free a friend of yours before entering the...um...top secret sewer system that...um...happens to be in the KGB embassy because it...makes perfect sense...

There's a really stupid aspect of the game here. You lose your pistol for a dart gun. And guess what? It shoots sleep darts. That's right. That's your weapon for most of the game. A dart gun that puts people to sleep. Did the makers of this game have issues with violence?

The later missions get really annoying. They give you 20 things to do, and its easy to fail them all or get captured (which is a lot worse than getting killed). And then you have to start all over again. Some things are really hard, and they aren't about to hint at you want to do. The fact that quite often the guards wake up from those sleep darts they like to supply you doesn't help at all. I often played levels thinking, "Gee, it'd be great if I could kill some one..."

You may notice I said capturing was worse than getting killed. That's because of two things: 1) if a guard approaches you and points a gun then BAM you lose instantly (yet another sign of Pacifist game-makers) 2) they give you an AMAZING amount of HP, so it's often impossible to get killed. This one time I had the main character standing in the doorway of the KGB headquarters with guards shooting him nonstop. I left the room, got a drink and snack, talked to my sister for a bit, then walked back into my room...and the guy is STILL taking bullets! How is this humanly possible?! And this is on the hardest difficulty level!

This game was such a waste. If I didn't enjoy running and gunning inside the KGB headquarters I would give it one star.

this game has its moments, but dont expect 007 gameplay

This game was released after the mega-hit, Golden Eye 007. It fails to meet the standards that 007 set. The second level is fun, but the rest of the game feels like it belongs on the SNES. The graphics are good, and the sounds ok, but the makers of MI were trying too hard to make the game realistic, and they forgot that it is a game. If Rare was involved it would have been an instant classic. My advice; either go for GoldenEye or wait for Perfect Dark, they both put this game to shame.

Patience is a Virtue

If your looking for a Goldeneye clone, than this game is not for you. The graphics and sound effects are sub par, but the gameplay and missions are quite clever. I was slightly let down when I first started playing, but with a bit of patience and a few levels in, it started to grab me. I think the biggest mistake of the game is trying too hard to follow the plot of the movie rather than creating interesting levels.

There are two game selections; Possible and Impossible aka Easy and Hard. I found the Possible to be too easy and completed the game in about a day.

With no multiplayer functions, MI quickly loses it's interest and lifespan.

The little dialouge quips of Mr Hunt are quite funny, and he even provides some comic relief throughout the game.

I recommend you try before you buy...

P.S. The finish off the game/credit sequence is quite clever allowing Mr Hunt too intereact with the creators of the game.

More like an RPG game

I enjoyed playing M:I, but, if U R looking for a good old shoot 'em up gmae, U R barking up the wrong tree. This game has fair graphics, and good sound effects (except for one of the guns), and has an element of brainy-ness to it. U can't just walk in, shoot everybody, and get what U came for. If you blow UR cover, U'll get arrested, and your game is over. That's that. If Ur talking to one of your squadmates, and the 'bag guys' see, U, U'll get arrested. Also, in one level, you'll be given a drug, and it will be hard to move. The screen will go black at intervals, also. So, this game is fun, but if U R looking for a GoldenEye stlye game, wrong one.
