If you own the PS2 version of Spider Man 2, that may have scared you off from buying this one. Don't let it! This is really a good game all by itself, and it is completely different from the PS2 version that came out last year. The graphics in the cutscenes are amazing (much better than the PS2), and the real actor's voices are used again. Gameplay is relatively simple to catch onto (there's a tutorial, but no Bruce Campbell this time). It's a great introduction to the PSP, and I'd highly recommend it as a starter game. If this is how it's going to be, then the PSP is going to rule!
as good as ps2

when i got the psp i bought this game too. I was blown away, the graphics in the movies are just as god as ps2, the regular graphics are already amazing by themselves. If you have a choice between this and nintendo DS GET THIS!!!!!!! i watched the trailer for spiderman 2 on the DS and its a side scroller with jacked up GBA graphics, HELLO, THIS THING IS 3D!!!! the only problem i would have is that it doesnt take a long time to beat. I beat it the next day. BUT, it has an amazing replay value. I just play 'illusions of grandeur' and 'waxy residue' (two mysterio levels) and i never get bored. Also JJJ is really funny "mysterio??...... isnt that a breakfast cereal?" haha and "doctor octavius, ive got it. Doc Ock, its like he was askin for it" then peter says "thats stu-great"
Great Action Adventure Game

If you enjoy adventure games, be sure to give the PSP version of Spider-Man 2 a try. It's got a nice combination of puzzles, exploration, and fighting enemies.
You are of course Peter Parker, newspaper reporter by day and crime-fighting webslinger by night. There is a nice amount of plot here, with well done cut-scenes that help to move the story along. You get the sense that you are participating in a sequence of events, not simply bashing away at random enemies.
The grahpics are really quite impressive, from the buildings you move around and the people you encounter. The cut scenes in particular are quite well cone.
The sounds are reasonable, with the original actors coming on to reprise their roles. Again, this really helps with the immersion factor of the game, that you are really becoming part of the Spider-Man world.
I like the fact that gameplay is a mix of styles. Sometimes you are saving cars from falling. Sometimes you are pulling down enemies in helicopters. Sometimes you are kicking and punching with street punks. In addition to your main objectives, there are other things you can do, other places you can go explore. It's up to you how you handle your current list of objectives.
If you just focus on the main tasks, you can zip through the game pretty quickly. But that is true of most adventure games. The glory is that you can roam around at your leisure, exploring the nooks and crannies, looking to see what hidden secrets are waiting for you. That is what helps the game last a long time and adds to the replayability factor.
Well recommended!

If you enjoyed Spiderman 2 for the PS2 and your thinking "Cool I loved that game, and now I can take it anywhere" think again. Gone is the open environment where you can spend hours just swinging around Manhattan. Instead its one level right after another. Its like they to the first Spiderman game and updated the content to reflect the new movie. Its almost deceptive for fans of Spiderman 2 for the PS2. And the worst part is they didn't even get Bruce Campbell to do the voice for the tutorial.
Fun but gets boring over time. Not worth $50

Spiderman 2 is a big disapointment. I just bought a PSP and then got Spiderman 2. The game is defintly not worth 50 bucks. i beat the game in less thatn 2 hours on normal. The trainig is bad and the camera just sucks. The bosses are all the same. Break a shield or make him dizzy and then hit him. No big deal. The game had 19 levels but each level lasted like 5 minutes. Gets really boring . Don't buy it unless you really like spiderman. if u don't but still want the gaem rent. Not Worth 50 bucks.
Not the greatest

I was only able to play this game for a few minutes before getting bored. I'm not the hugest Spiderman fan, so maybe if I was I would have liked this game more.
Basically it's an adventure game where you play Spiderman and go around beating up the bad guys... supposedly it follows the movie spiderman 2 to a degree, but I didn't play the game long enough to know how closely it does follow the movie.
The graphics are good and it seems playable, but this game just wasn't as much fun as Untold Legends, Wipeout Pure, or Twisted Metal, which are all better games.

Where do I start? Then entire reason I got the PSP to begin with was for Spiderman 2. I played it on the PS2 and to this day I still pop it in just to swing around the city and kick the crap out of car jacker and bank robbers. I put in Spiderman 2 on PSP and "POW" I was upset 5 minutes into it. I should have listened to Evil Bob he warned us that this was just Spiderman 1 all over again. $49.95 I THINK NOT. My only hope is that I can take this game back and get a refund. Now dont get me wrong, the PSP is out of this world and I really hope BATMAN BEGINS is much better than Spiderman 2

This is so much better than the DS version! In this game you don't have to touch to make a special move work.
FUN... but really really short...

I bought this game for my PSP about a month ago (and I'm actually selling it tonight) and popped it into my PSP. I played through about 3/4 of it that night and the other small bit the next night... then it was over... I was kinda like, "So that's it?". There is absolutely nothing wrong with the game except that it is terribly short and has no redeaming value... this makes me sad... playing it a second time is just boring and not as fun as the first and there is no kind of multiplayer or really that many unlockables (just three galleries of stuff)... I would recomend this for hardcore Spidey fans (like myself) that have big bags of money that can be spent willy-nilly. Other than that... just rent/borrow it somewhere, you won't be dissapointed if you do that.
way too short

(spider man 2 is a very fun game so dont get me wrong when i say bad things about it)
this was the first game i bought for my psp and at first i loved it. after about 4 hours... i had beaten it. i say that if you are looking for a game and the only reason u want it is to show off your psp than dont hesitate to buy this game. it is full priced so if you want it for actual playing purposes than dont buy it unless you just happen to have 45.95 in your pocket and feel inclined to buy a very fun game that you shouldnt expect to enjoy for more than a day unless you are one of those people who like to play a game until you can beat it in under an hour.(it can be done)i would recomend this game but for 45.95 its a bit of a rip off considering you only get about 4-6 hours of gameplay before you beat it. if you play on the harder difficuly levels than it will take you considerably longer.
