This is a very good game. It is almost a carbon copy of GTA 3, but with all the goodies from vice city. If you are fond of the GTA 3 and Vice City games I highly recomend this. Some of the mini games are awesome. Like where you have to dress up like Jason and kill as many people as you can on this boat. The only thing was it was fairly easy. Once you beat it, thats that. There's really not much left to do once the main missions are complete. If your a big fan of GTA San Andreas, I would not recommend this because of the fact that it goes back to the roots of the series. All in all. Lots of fun!
GTA works great on PSP.

GTA:Liberty City Stories is the first GTA aperance on the PSP,Infact it is actually the first 3D GTA on a handheld.
This game is actually better than GTAIII since you get the same city, but motorbikes and clothes changing too.
You play Toni Cipriani, anyone whose beaten GTA3 will remember him as a boss where your guy has to do missions like blowing up fish factories and that Triad war thing, well he`s the guy you play about 3 years before that stuff happened.
You don`t get any planes/helicopters in this game as the PSP can`t handle that stuff-But you can still have portable fun.
You can jack cars, kill people, buy weapons and change clothes.
You get the motorbikes, that were saw in GTA:Vice City.
Remember that this is actually LESS than GTA:San Andreas so its not a killer-ap for the PSP,but if you have a PSP or happen to be getting one then GTA:LCS might be worth a purchase.
Anyways this game is getting ported to PS2,so you needn`t to bother,That game will also be less than San Andreas as its just a port.
There is a new GTA game coming to PSP soon, its called Vice City Stories hopefully that will have a handful of improvements and i hope they add some more places to Vice City(which means its going to be set some time after the one from PS2).
bye.
Same game.....

In short:
-if this game was rated solely on it's fighting system, it'd get crappy grades.
-if this game was rated solely on it's driving system, it'd get crappy ratings
-if this game was rated solely on it's shooting system, it'd get crappy ratings
-if this game was rated solely on it's user inputted character interactions, it'd be graded crappy
Why are you all rating this game so highly? It's not fun anymore, it's the same old crap. Controls are the same.
I don't get it.
Is it just because of the crime?
That's pretty messed up.
The problem is that the game play hasn't really changed since then.
There's really nothing left here now that this video game genre is OLD.
This gaming company should really consider changing a little more about this series if they want to continue with its popularity.
It's getting to be like the Madden Football series... each new game is basically a roster update.
I'm glad they're trying something different with that Bully game coming out. It sounds like it might be interesting although I'd rather if they let you pick the type of student you'd be using... it'd be cool to play as the class clown/prankster to mess with the teachers.
Maybe it will?
Godfather is also coming out that sounds like it'll be loosely like this series, maybe that will be fun.
Sounds like there's way more thinking required. You can choose different ways to handle situations unlike this series lately.
(Godfather supposedly lets you choose if you want to fight or negotiate in order to get stuff)
Awesome version for the portable playstation

Alright guy, I read that you say if that it doesn't say anything on the box about having Version 2.0 for the PSP, but when you stick the UMD on in the PSP and goto game on the main menu (before starting the game itself up) if you down one under that option there is a "Version 2.0 Update" option. Plus, if your GTA for some reason doesn't say that like mine. Then all you need in a cheap USB cable and download the update from playstations website for free. So I wouldn't blame that on the game.
Aside from that, the game is great graphics wise. At times, I'd say its even better than GTA III was. The cutscences are a bit shorter, but thats understandable seeing as though the size of the machine and the size of the disc being used. Its really nice to have a great addition to the GTA series thats able to fit in your pocket and able to be played whenever you want. All the great things that made GTA great are included. Just without some of the added things on San Andreas, but then again, they did amazing for what they had to work with. The PSP has really opened doors for what portable gaming is capable of. I'm just wanting for portable versions of other great games such as Resident Evils, Metal Gear Solids (Not Acid with the dumb card game crap), and even Silent Hills would be nice. If only Sony could work out a deal to get Knights of the Old Republic on the PSP. ^_^
Wow, this is slow

I'll stick with ridge racers, wipeout, and lumines at this point. I'm not a huge gta fan anyway to get that out of the way. This game looks to much like gta3, and if you thought it was sluggish on the ps2, you haven't seen anything yet. the frame rate is absolutly horrendous. The graphics would probably get a 7 or 8 though. I guess if you're a diehard gta fan. You should probably buy this game. I'll wait for socom though.

A mini crime opera, complete with pint-size bottles of blood, micro-chipped caches of street-smart lingo, fun-size dollops of violence and doggie-bag portability. A veritable miracle of compression, perhaps the best complement to LCS is that it is easily on a par with the first PS2 GTA game, brought out in 2001.
Yes, there are compromises, owing to the diddy size of UMDs and -of course- the PSP itself. The radio stations are cut down, there are less missions, and the lack of a right analogue stick means that operating the camera manually is a bit more of a hassle than on the PSPs bigger, older brother. And of course, as the game uses the same game environment fro GTAIII, there is always the feel that this games is abit like an expansion pack for the PS2 versions...But you can't expect three cities and hundreds of missions, apart from anything else because the PSP is a pick-up-and-play kind of device that is best suited to short-term kicks.
But, hey, when you expect a facsimile of a games on a home console, you know that expectations are high for the game and these minor quibbles and basically a distraction from how brilliantly the small unit handles the epic action.
