EXCELLENT arcade/adrenaline fun

Reviewers have been tepid about this title, but reveiwers do not play videogames the way many of us do. For reviewers, videogames are serious business. For me, and, I would imagine, many others, games are supposed to be simple fun.

Silent Scope provides oodles of it. Not much thinking, just fast, fast, tight, well designed action, with a cool scope-in, scope-out dynamic that actually maybe does require some strategy. A classic of the level of House of The Dead 1& 2. I play without a gun, and with just the controller, it's a blast.

It would be worth the money if all you got was one game, but you get THREE FULL ARCADE GAMES, PLUS BONUS GAMES. Most gun games suffer from low longevity, but it would be very hard to imagine anyone finishing this title in under 30 hours.

Very, very addictive and cool. Varied action, humour, branching paths...

Sure, the graphics are not at par with the best of XBOX, but they're glitch free, and designed with a wink and a chuckle, and some environments actually look pretty good and do contain OK polygon counts and that.

Bottom line, if you're tired of games that are so complicated they feel like jobs, so complicated they lack focus and direction, get this now.

- P.S. - I set difficulty at 6 which offers optimal "resistance"- I recommend doing that and leaving everything else at default values, except for turning on auto-save, and turning off branching paths in Silent Scope 1 (the surprise of which path you'll randomly get adds to re-play.) Each game has its own options set.

I played Silent Scope in the arcade. When it came out on PS2 I was dissapointed that it was not light gun compatiable. Now Konami has corrected it's mistake by making the X box version light gun compatiable. You get 3 great games in one package. I heard that the Silent Scope Light Rifle is horrible. If you are having problems calibrating it, go to your funcoland and get a pelican brand name extension. This solves the problem. As far as the light rifles performance, It is good. The kickback stinks,but who cares about kickback. It is fun to point the rifle at the tv and blast away at terrorists. I am so thrilled that Konami has brought all of the excitiment of 3 of its contemporary arcade games to x box. If you are a fan of arcade games but don't want to waste your money at the arcade, get this collection immeidatly!

The game it self has four games in it 1,2,3 and EX but if you really want to get the enjoyment out of the game pick up the light rifle. it not onle makes targeting and shooting easier but it also feels like your right in the situation.

Only buy this if you have the light gun

I played the arcade version of this as much as I could afford. The arcade version had a sniper rifle built in to the game that when looking through the scope you would see a tiny monitor that replicated the view of a zoom lens. It was AMAZING. So when I saw the first version of this for PS2 I bought it opening day. Well it was HORRIBLE. With no gun, all you could do is slowly move a cursor around the screen and hope you hit things. It was SUCH a let down. The fact that SS Complete is light gun compatible will make it a GREAT game. It's truly worth it if you can get the gun support for it. Otherwise, rent it but don't buy it. you won't like it.

this game is packed with all 3 silent scope games and has all of the extras and options you could ever want. The game makes the user turn up the brightness a lot o the gun can register, not a problem with the gun because it works fien for house of the dead 3.

While this game is great, the gun fails. I dont thinmk the gun can affect the score of the game because the game is anything one could ask for.

alright, you've probably played great games like halo, unreal tourney, and half life, you saw the title and said "hmm, silent scope, i'm taking on the role of a sniper" well suprise suprise, you are, but if you haven't played this game let me give you a backround

Basically your a sniper.........yeah........if you've ever played the game time crisis at your local arcade you can expect some similaraties. basically you have x amount of hits, and you kill things. the reason why i haven't spent my life savings in quaters on this arcade version is because you are timed to take out enemies, which REALLY takes out the meaning of being a sniper.

the mad catz gun, i HAVE NO IDEA IF IT'S REQUIRED, INCLUDED, OR OPTIONAL AND PREFERED, if mad catz does make/include a light gun, then they shall have a role of power when i rule the world. So i suggest you find some info on teh game and then buy it if it comes with a light gun because that's what makes it different from halo and all the other fpss

this game is awesome just for dabbling in and out of the game otherwise its not a good buy i beat 1 out of 4 of the games in 10mins!!!!! thats horrible
lol and it was on the hardest difficulty
althogh the fun factor was very high

although there are only 2 light gun games for the xbox - this and house of the dead, this game is lame. the graphics are so old and the light sensitivity of the game is horrible. i have the yobo boss blaster pistol and it works incredibly well with HOTD, but with this game, you have to have the brightness turned up so high that you can barely see the screen in order for the light gun to move smoothly across the screen. you cant have ANY background light to play the game. this game is not worth the money - thankfully i used a gift cert from my company to buy this, and not my own money.
