Finally an Xbox golf game!

Although the characters are a little corny, and their actions a little crude, the golf is awesome. With many different games to play, it will provide many hours of fun.

Golf Lover Delight

This is a great game for golf lovers. The only down fall the game has is that you can not play a tournament with multiple players. The best part is beating the heck out of your caddie. (wish I could do this on the golf course)

A Great Game From A Small Company, But It's Not For The Kids

Before I give you my opinion on Outlaw Golf, I want to tell you about this game's offensive content, because there's a lot of it. This game contains strong language, coarse sexual dialogue and content, and bloodless, but still brutal, violence. It's single-handedly takes video game content to the next level. The next level is showing how games can be as, or almost as bad as, R rated films. This game may have a Teen rating (ages 13 and up), but don't be fooled. There are so many reasons why this game should have gotten a Mature (ages 17 and up) rating. The ESRB certainly didn't do their job when they rated this game.

Despite being extremely lowbrow, though, Outlaw Golf is the best golf game I've played since Mario Golf (N64). The graphics shine brightly with well-detailed characters and courses, and the game moves at a good framerate. On the sound front, this game sizzles with authentic golf sounds, fitting music and hilarious voicework. The controls score high points with a nice analog swinging function and useful camera angles. Putting is presented in an innovative way here: you first aim your shot, and then press X and see a line of where the ball will go when you hit it with the specified amount of power. You want to aim so the line goes into the cup, but there's a catch: you can only see the path the ball will go three times for each putt, making you have to aim properly. Much like Mario Golf, this game is made for non golfers in mind, but is also fun for golf fans. The humor may be lowbrow, but it adds a new touch to games like this, and the nifty composure system works well. For example, if you make a good shot, your composure will go up, and you will do better playing, but if you make a bad shot, your composure will decrease and you'll do worse playing. To refill your meter, you must make good shots or use beating tokens. What are beating tokens, you ask? You earn these by making Birdies or multiple Pars. You can use these to beat up your caddie in a brutal fashion. Think fights on The Jerry Springer Show, and you've got the right idea (complete with the audience chanting "Fight!"). If you beat your caddie up well enough, you will fill up your composure meter. You have to press the A button at the right time to execute the beating, making skill involved. These fights are violent, but really funny and enjoyable. All in all, Outlaw Golf is a great golf game, and a great first showing (for me, at least) for developer Hypnotix. Even if you don't like golf, buy this game, as long as you're of the age (I'd recommend ages 17 and up or mature 16 year olds).

FYI: Many people have complained that the game crashes with first generation Xbox systems, or the game just crashes, but I had no problems with the game. And for all you parents out there, don't let your kids anywhere near this game. Let them get Mario Golf instead.

Outlaw Golf

There are three ways developers can approach a golf game. You either make a very realistic sim, a silly romp, or a mixture of both. Hypnotix' Outlaw Golf tries to be a mix of both, succeeding to an extent, but falling short of golf greatness. Featuring a cast of outrageously lewd characters, Outlaw Golf has humor in bunches, but doesn't manage enough solid golf gameplay to make it a true winner.

This is an all around fun game. Whether playing by myself or with friends, I found myself laughing and having a good time. I recommend Outlaw Golf... and I don't even play real golf.

A fun and challenging golf game

This game wouldn't be the same if it had been done any other way. As a golf game, it is challenging and fun, with a number of interesting holes and challenges (the mini-games which help you improve the skills of your golfer).

As an adult, this game also provides a second component of fun humor and the ability to beat the snot out of your caddie to improve your character's mood. Perhaps the only downside of the game is the few animations and catch phrases for each player. (Of course you'll notice this too, since you'll be playing this game a lot!) But, to it's credit, the announcer has quite a few catchy sayings, some of which might follow you out on the course, if you're a real golfer -they're that much fun to say.

If you really want your games to make a statement, this golf game says "Hey, I'm fun and I'm an excellent golf game too!" So try it. You'll be glad you did.

Good for the serious golfer and the duffer!

This is a great little game of golf and the graphics are amazing. I swear you can see the blades of grass on some of the flybyes. The swing control is great and innovative and the courses are rendered pretty well. Putting seems to be rather difficult to figure out at as sometimes the power-bar is rather mis-leading. In any event, just make sure your kids aren't around when you play this one.

Outlaw Golf mixes up one of the most entereasting things in the world. The game golf and the strangest people from the world. It's not your usualle game of golf.
From the announcer who will put you down every chance he get's. To the audiance who will laugh at every mistake you make on the green. But this game will keep you laughing for hours as you play.
Now to the game. You can play normel golf to get started. It's not that hard to lerne. Then from there your able to play in severle diferent stiles. Plus the more you play the more you will unlock. There's no end to this game.
