I've been a Mortal Kombat fan since MK 1, owned and mastered all the Kombats since and I can say this is the best MK yet. Awesome arenas, all the fighters from every Kombat game, finally a kreate a fighter which is amazing, kreate a fatality, multiple fatality's, motor kombat is loads of fun a kicks Mario karts behind, and Konquest mode. The new Konquest mode is way better than the Deception one, completely reinvented for MKA. So much stuff to do, so many fighters, endless possibilites. This game is also playable on Xbox 360 which I play it on and it's so much better to play it with a 360 controller. Get this now you'll never get tired of it! MORTAL KOMBAT FOREVER!

This game is really fun, but mostly when you're playing against your friends. Playing against the computer can get old pretty quick. I liked the option to create a fighter but I do wish there were more options for the costumes, bodies and weapons.
The Koolest Mortal Kombat ever!!!

This game to me is the runaway best ever Mortal Kombat game. This game starts out as a who's who in Mortal Kombat right out of the box. You get every character ever existed and there are still kool new characters like Meat!! Meat is awesome! He's the first character who will rip off his own head and roll it at you like a bowling ball. And now for the first time we can actually fight with Onaga and all the other monster mini-bosses.
Sindel is as beautiful as ever I might add.
The Konquest is really awesome and more challanging than even Deception's. The Motor Kombat is a lot of fun and light times better than Kombat chess too.
Perhaps the greatest thing of all is the chance to finally create your own fighter. I have created Miss Fit, a green skinned, large breasted, axe weilding, semi-nude hottie that not only produces puke puddles, but shhots missles from between her cleavage!!
The big boss at the top of the pyramid is a fire lava monster who really likes to throw you around and pick you up and throw you. I beat him first with my favorite charater Sindel, then Mileena, and my own character. He is difficult at first, but continously assaulting him with three hit combos eventually wears him out. I recently beat him with Noob Saibot and learned that his soul is split in half with Sub-Zero's!
This is an awesome game and I cannot see how the Mortal Kombat guys can improve on this, but I hope they prove me wrong! Happy fighting!
Very good

The game is great. I had some years without playing MK, the last one that I played was MK3 but everything is working fine. The only thing was that I had to make like 10 updates for it to work properly (Xbox 360) and the fatalities are pretty much the same for all the characters. Overall I give it a 7/10.
Iits not that good

I didn't buy this from here but my brother has it, and I've seen him play it, the CONQUEST's graphics are well done, but the arcade mode sucks!!! because its like buying a used game because all of the old characters are unlocked excepted the 2 characters from the conquest, you can't do the character's original fatality, you have to make up your own wich is a little hard, they should have had all the backgrounds from the old games to the new one, they should have also had a code to unlock some traps instead of killing the opponent to the same traps, and they should also let us unlock the old arcade games (Mortal kombat 1 through 4) instead of having the old games on the kollector's edition.
An Exercise in Nostalgia

This is one of the best Mortal Kombat games made. The Konquest mode is vastly improved over Deadly Alliance and the cast of characters certainly brings back memories. The Kreate-a-Fighter would be much cooler if you could create more than one, but other than that, this game is great for fans of the original Mortal Kombat.
All the Kombat characters finally available to fight with!

The biggest plus for this final MK for the X-Box is that you get to choose from all the characters from the previous games. You get to also create your own character after earning some points from the mini RPG game. BUT...It's not perfect. The fatality system is totally revamped into something that lacks the zap of the early games and now each character only has one fighting style to use instead of the two style system from Deception. Still, for a final outing it is a decent conclusion to the series.
A solid entry in the classic fighting game series

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
INTRODUCTION:
The Mortal Kombat series is, well, anything but mortal. Ever since its birth in 1992, the series has been loved and hated by many. With its unique take on the fighting game genre, as well as blood and gore galore, it's the series that has taken the world by storm and never let go. After a lengthy hiatus following 1998's Mortal Kombat 4, the series made a comeback in recent years with games like Deadly Alliance and Shaolin Monks. The most recent entry in the series in Armageddon.
OVERVIEW:
Mortal Kombat Armageddon was released in 2006. The game features numerous gameplay modes, including traditional arcade play, Motor Kombat, Endurance, Konquest, and a Kreate-A-Fighter mode. The fighting roster features every playable character from every traditional MK game so far.
REVIEW:
When the Mortal Kombat series went on an extended hiatus following the release of Mortal Kombat 4, a lot of people forgot about the series and lost interest. I was amongst them. New titles began to surface, but I paid them little attention. But as soon as a friend of mine introduced me to Armageddon, I was almost instantly back into the series. MK is back with a vengeance. And this is the finest installment to date.
-THE GOOD-
-HUGE CHARACTER ROSTER. Every character ever featured in a Mortal Kombat game as a normal, playable character or a boss, is playable here. From the well-known members of the cast like Sub-Zero and Scorpion, right down to the forgotten characters like Reiko and Kabal, they're all here. The characters from the most recent installments on modern systems appear too. Plus there are a few new characters. The total roster comes out to around SIXTY CHARACTERS!
-KREATE A FIGHTER MODE! I honestly doubted whether or not this sort of thing had a place in the Mortal Kombat universe, but after giving it a whirl, I forgot my doubts. This system works out great. You get to customize your character's appearance, moves, backstory, and plenty of other stuff. You start the game with limited options, but can unlock new moves and clothes in other gameplay modes, and with the currency you get in other modes.
-MOTOR KOMBAT. The real oddity here, but fun nonetheless. Imagine Mario Kart but with Mortal Kombat characters and gore. It's a fun, simplistic game, but definitely worth checking out.
-ENDURANCE MODE. Think you're the best MK player out there? Then take a fighter and pit them against opponent after opponent until you die. It's the ultimate test of skill.
-TONS OF UNLOCKABLES. Throughout various game modes, you'll earn currency you can trade for unlockables. These include pieces of music, alternate character outfits, new levels, concept art, videos - the list goes on! This aspect of the game definitely adds something the old pre-hiatus games lacked. The currency can be earned in nearly every mode of the game, as well.
-MULTIPLE FIGHTING STYLES AND WEAPONS FOR CHARACTERS. Weapon fighting, which was godawful in Mortal Kombat 4, is perfected in this game. The fighting styles appeared in other recent titles as well, and they definitely add something to the experience.
-KONQUEST MODE. This is essentially a story-oriented mode revolving around the new character Taven, and it mixes Shaolin Monks-style action/adventure play, as well as traditional MK one-on-one deathmatches. In this mode you can find plenty of unlockables, further adding to the mode's value.
-MAKE OUR OWN FATALITY. This is an innovative feature, and an interesting edition to an excellent series.
-THE BAD-
-REPETITIVE PLAY IN THE KONQUEST MODE. This mode is required to unlock stuff, so you'll find yourself playing it a lot. But you'll also get frustrated by the repeated scenarios and instant death traps. They could have done a lot more to keep things fresh.
-UNEVEN COMPUTER INTELLIGENCE. Sometimes the computer plays a smart game and/or cheeses you to death, other times it doesn't seem to know what the hell it's doing.
-MOTOR KOMBAT NEEDS WORK. I think this was an excellent idea, and I'm glad they put it in the game. But the gameplay is repetitive and the control needs work. More diversity in this mode would have been nice.
-ONLY TWO FIGHTING STYLES PER CHARACTER. Not a big deal to me, but it will be to gamers who played the last few MK games which had three of them per character.
-NO CHARACTER SPECIFIC FATALITIES. I was glad to hear about the Fatality creation mode, but had no idea it would take the place of the age-old, classic, character-specific Fatalities that have defined the series since the beginning. As such, Fatality customizing gets old fast, since every character does the same things.
-NO "SPECIALTY" FATALITIES. What happened to Babalities, Friendships, Brutalities, and Animalities? I miss all this stuff. When's it coming back to the series?
OVERALL:
Mortal Kombat is back with a vengeance. If you're one of those guys who lost interest after the fourth installment, this is the entry that's good enough to get you back on the series bandwagon. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up if you're fan of the series, old or new alike, or a fan of fighting games in general.
EDITION NOTES:
The game is a recent release and readily available at most major video game retailers.
Well its official, Ed Boon and the game desigenrs suffer from down syndrome.

Were these morons tripping on acid when they made this game?
This game is piss pore! And I'll give you a hole list of reasons not to buy this game. These are true FACTS!
First off.
Anyone with a brain stem knows that the game was rushed so Midway can plop out another game for Xbox before switching consoles, so that way they can screw you over just little bit further.
Second, the story itself didn't make any sense at all!It has nothing to do with its previous games, although you see "every character" in it.
And that brings me to my Third FACT. "Every character", well at least thats what they tell you. NOT like KIA, JAKAATA, TREMMOR, TALSA, and all the Elemental Gods. For those of you who don't know, those were characters in other MK games that turned out to be another flop.
And you see fighters doing all these cool moves in the opening trailer, like Shang Tsung's morphing moves that we all loved, is not in it. So its save to say that this game was sold to you under FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! In other words you've been had.
Forth, Half of the arenas are strait from MK Deception. Which goes to show you, just how lazy these Bastards really are.
[And did you notice that half of MKD arenas was off of MKDA?]
Fifth, The krypt is a joke, 80% of it filled with those crappy sketches that looks like a forth grader drew and photos of the retards that made this idiotic game. Thats like showing you the leftover crap that they didn't put in your a hot dog, "while your eating it".
And if thats not bad enough, in the krypt you get to unlock all the costumes that you've already seen before in their previous games! Well Whoopdeedo.
Sixth, Konquest is nothing like Deception, you can't freelance your way around a map like you used to or time meditate or anything cool like that.Instead they give you 4 lame powers and they are [time freeze] "that only last 5 sec" [fire ball] "yeah real original" [power punch] and [earth quake punch] thats it. You can finish this side game in about 3 hours maybe less.
Not only that but you'd think that Konquest will explain it all on how everyone survived in the previous games but it doesn't.
Seven, Oh and you can forget about those BIO'S to their not in in the game anymore. No if you want those you have to go online and download it. WTF!? And when you do, they still don't make any sense.
You can easily tell that the writers were making this s*** up as they go.
Eight, Kreate a Fatality was a good idea, but they should have given you the option to choose between that or new signature fatalities.
Nine, If there going to have weapons in the arenas, they should do away with character weapons. What good would it do if Shao Khan has a war hammer and then theres another one in the same arena?
And last is that ripoff Mario cart called Motor Kombat.
Who drunk the bong water when they came up with this?
I can't think of anything more dumber then to merge one of the most greatest, goriest games of all time to a preschool game thats just as entertaining as watching the attention spanned of George Bush. You know that little thing on the conner of the game cartridge? It says rated M for mature.
Thats like merging MTV to Sesame Street, hey lets watch Snoop Dog teach Big Bird on how to do crack. It just doesn't work.
The only thing I liked about the game was "and this was the ONLY thing" the idea of Kreate a Karacter, they should hold on to that one and improve it like making all kinds of players and have them installed into the profile memory and get to fight your own creations up the latter. But no, they managed to screw that up too. Like only giving you swords or axes. "Wow a lot to choose from there".
And MK is just not the same without "test your might/sight".
Bottom line, at least rent the game before you do something that your going to regret.
Best of the MK series

I'm not a huge video game fan, but when I do play, I turn to this game. I especially like the create your own fighter and create your own fatality options. It's worth a try if you haven't played it!
