This game is god awful. The controls stink while the game play is medicore. The worse thing about the controls is that it's too flaky and unpolished. The controls are extremely sensitive and at times very unresponsive. The camera angle is even worse. You can face looking into inside of a wall. Yup.. inside of a wall. The camera angel is right up there with the controls as making this game GOD AWFUL. I expect more from Lucas Arts to make a game unfinish and unenjoyable as this.

this seems like a good game overall except for all the bugs. there are serious programing errors. the game locks up periodically and does not let you continue. this is especially frustrating when you complete a level and have to start it over when the cut scene crashes. lucasarts probably should have playtested it more. without the bugs i would say 4 stars.
Pretty Graphics, Frustrating Game Play

I was excited by the prospects of a new Indy game. This one has dazzling graphics, very good sound, and a rich story line.
The game play, though, tarnishes the experience. Lacking a mid-level save fuction, you're doomed to repeat tedious sequences again and again. Also, Indy easily falls off of things and gets himself stuck in tight spaces while the bad guys are attacking. Underwater movement is especially frustrating because of the extra element of air supply.
Pay attention to the system requirements, as processor and graphics requirements are high.

This is one the best games yet! You don't have to worry about saving the game because it saves by itself. it's not like Halo where all you do is kill it's more of a game where you have to find your way through life threatning obsticals. If you don't buy this game or don't even rent it you are very stupid!!

It's a great game but no save points between levels so it does get hard but it does not get repeatitive. i give it a 4.5 out of 5 for graficks gameplay gets a 5 sound gets a 5 and lifespan gets a 4.5 so 4.8 for a final score. Pick it up if you love indiana jones!... Like me!
Good game with some flaws

Although a captivating, if not adventurous, a more exciting Indiana Jones. I was astounded by the brawls I had with many of the enemies I had to face; each fight made me impatient for the next fight because of its effectiveness and realism. Highly valued stuff!
This game is harder with the amount of almost mind-boggling puzzles you must solve, but with the frustration, the rest of Emperor's Tombs' values compensate this.
The sound is pretty much in place with nice, crisp sounds of one of Indiana Jones' special weapons you must attain in Emperor's Tomb, and many other sounds are very real, that's one of the entities that raised my hopes up for the game. Harrison Ford's voice is right on the money, no change here, makes this game even more valuable. The Indiana Jones theme music is so convincing, the way it sounds--makes you try harder in a battle!
A couple of flaws, though: Frame rate is bitter at times, sometimes altering the progress of infiltrating the level, which makes me angry at certain moments. The story isn't without its glitches; during Indiana Jones' cutscenes with Mei Ying are almost uncomprehendable, specifically pertaining to the plot.
But the best thing of this game is is that there is an array of levels. From the jungles, Hong Kong, to the Nazis chasing you in some amazing chase scenes, or blowing up Nazi airplanes from a gondola with the sunset with an unstoppable machine gun is one of those aspects of an excellent game you don't see too often.
Like I said, "highly valued"!
So not ready for release

This game is more annoying then challenging. The easy parts are so easy a six year old could do them. And the hard parts are only hard b/c the programmers have you fight an endless stream of Nazi's, Poachers, Martial Art Masters, without anywhere to gain your health back. So you do the same section over and over and over again, until by the luck of the Computer Gods, the one of the hundred baddie's that is shooting, kicking you, or slicing at you misses once so you can get to the next section. Until then, do the same section over and over, due to the lack of a save feature.
Another annoying feature is the fact that you often have to shoot the enemies three times at point blank range to kill them!! I can understand this at a distance, but if you are standing next to a Nazi and shoot him in the back of the head, he is going to die, not get up and kick your butt for shooting at him.
Yet another annoying feature is that in the beginning of every section, there is a cut scene that shows you exactly what you need to do!! Come on!!!! I started gaming on King's Quest I; I do not need a game to hold my hand so that I can play. This REALLY eliminates the fun out of this game and turns it in to a very poor first person shooter. Rent but do not buy!! And do not get me started on the Camera controls and the fact that Indy runs at Mach 5, which if you play the game will lead to many, many, many unwanted falls to your death.
A parting shot: Programmers, please have some consistency in the game. If I can fall a certain distance and get injured, but fall the same distance in another area and die, it's just not right. Also, make it so we can save it!!!
BUGS...WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE BUGS?

PROS:
1. GOOD FIGHT ANIMATIONS-really captures Indy's wild, drunken fighting style. I also loved how Indy's hat would fall off after he would get punched many times.
2. GOOD CHOICE OF WEAPONS-a nice touch is the ability to use weapons dropped from your enemies.
3. MUSIC-John Williams' classic score is integrated well during key points of action.
CONS:
1. MEDIOCRE GRAPHICS-the textures are muddy. So much so that I had to increase the sharpness level of my TV just to make sure it wasn't causing the problem. Again, XBox owners get leftovers from a PS2 ported game.
2. HORRID FRAME RATE-the game stutters all over the place when there are more than two enemies on the screen at once.
3. HORRID COLLISION DETECTION-Indy and enemies will magically teleport through walls and floors
4. BLOCKY PLAYER MOVEMENT-despite the good fighting animations, Indy's movements tend to skip a few frames.
5. UNINSPIRED CUT SCENES USING IN-GAME GRAPHICS-the cut scenes would have been negligible had the graphics engine been more than decent. Whatever happened to CGI, movie-quality cut scenes?
6. RIGID VOICE ACTING-the actor playing Indy sounds exactly like Harrison Ford's tired drawl. However, he also sounds like he's reading the script rather than acting it out. The same goes for the other voice actors.
7. REPETITIOUS LEVEL DESIGN-there's too much emphasis on jumping from ledge to ledge and swimming.
8. BUGS, BUGS, BUGS, I HATE BUGS!-the game tends to freeze every once in awhile which is inexcusable. Lucasarts' quality assurance department should be fired.
