Fun but short

I got this game and finished it within 3 days. It is sad to see a game ending so quicky. I am still playing Golden Sun for GBA for about 7 months now. Everything else about this game is good. Gaphics, Gameplay, Multiplayer experiance (without split screen), It was really too short that was the problem. And I also notice the world is not excatly so origional.. there were 3 worlds all 3 of them were sort of familiar to the ones in diablo's 3 acts, for world one it was basicly like the monistary from diablo, world 2 was like a desert and snowy planes of act 2 and 5(exp), and world 3 was like a marshy lands of diablo's act 3's terrain

Not enough campaign time for the money

I feel sorry for anyone who has spent more than ten dollars on this game. I purchased it for [...] at Toys 'R' Us. Basically a dollar for every hour of campaign time I got out of it.

I'm a huge rpg, particularly forgotten realms fantasy fan, and I was sorely dissapointed in this game. While, the story is missing in detail, the adventuring is fun, heavy hack n slash type, very little to no RP at all. The ending was just that, an ending, a real let down. We went through this game tooth and nail, making sure to uncover every stone, secret and bad guy and it still only took me 8 and a half hours to beat. I was really dissapointed. Just when we thought there was going to be a spectacular plot twist and the game was really going to start kicking, it just ended, promising yet 'another installment' in the Baldurs Gate series. Honestly, instead of purchasing the next game, I'll just pass. I just can't justify paying new game prices for what amounts to the time you would get out of a free community expansion.

If you want to purchase an RPG, save your money and put it towards the NWN platinum pack for the PC. Now there you can waste the hours away!!!

AWSOME

I am not a fan of role-playing games. I typically prefer something with a faster pace. A friend picked this out at the rental store, and it really won me over. I can't stop playing and will definitely buy it.

Pacing: This game has a very nice blend of action, plot, and puzzle-solving. It's well paced and intelligently designed so that even if you die you don't end up playing the same parts over and over.

Graphics: top-notch. I was impressed from the moment I started. The water graphics are stunning.

Length: This is NOT a short game. I've put 30-40 hours into it so far and have yet to fully complete it. Those who think it is short are playing on the easiest level.

One of the best parts is that you can play cooperatively. Few games allow you to do this, and this is one of them. Again, it is intelligently designed so that it is easy for your friend to rejoin you if he is killed. Also, your character can be exported and, with a memory card, added to a game on your friend's console.

There are quite a number of weapons and skills that can be acquired, but it's not so many as to make the game too complicated.

Hard-core RPG fans may find that there are too few items and too simplistic of a plot. For the non-RPG fan, this game turned out to be an excellent choice. I look forward to playing it through again with a friend or with a different character.

Fun 2-player cooperative game

There aren't that many two player cooperative games out there for the X-box, so this game was very welcome.

I think the biggest suprise to this game is just how linear it is. There seems to be an absolutely fixed number of bad guys out there, meaning a fixed number of experience points you are going to get. Unlike many other RPG games, there's no randomness involed in what monsters you encounter, and you never have the option to go out killing monsters to gain experience/money.

The graphics are quite nice. The only complaint I have is that it's clear that it's designed on a grid and rather than diagonal/irregular walls, you get stair-stepping on a grid.

Although everyone else seems to have finished this game in a matter of hours, it entertained my wife and I for several weeks. Maybe we are just less compentant than everyone else :-)

Great Game

All right call it 4.5 stars out of 5. It is a very fun very engrossing game. It brings you many combat challenges and a few others as well. One or two players can play always fun to play with someone (suggestion to makers use split screen for 2 players as in Halo) sometimes a person can get trapped in 2 player...try it you'll see what I mean in the heat of action. It will last you awhile 20 hours to 55 hours plus of original play time. Once you've been through it, the replay value goes down even with a different character, but that is the nature of the beast. Once you've finished it you can still keep playing the same character from the beginning and increase levels, spells, etc. It is fun to do some butt kicking to those so and so's that gave you such a rough time when you were just learning the game. My only complaint is that I was told I could get another character choice to play if I finished the game in extreme mode. I finished it and I didn't get fourth character. Still worth the money all in all.

Awesome must have

This is a great game me and my wife played it for hours until we beat it. It was alot of fun, controls were easy to learn and the missions are easy to understand(there isn't alot of raoming around wondering what to do or where to go) Single player is good, but two player is so much more fun. This game has a two player maximum. Me and my wife have no complaints.

Great - SHORT game

The game was awesome if you like the Baldurs Gate D'n'D games.
Its a 3/4 perspective action RPG (similar play style to Diablo).
I loved that you can play 2 players on the same console (though there is no link option for extending the MP functions). The graphics were fantastice and the game play was fast paced and a lot of fun. So why not 5 stars? I beat the game in less than 2 days... for 50$ thats a pretty quick game...
They should have extended the world/quests much further than they did. Other than that, its an excellent game.

Entertaining for bit. But way to short.

This game has some nice visual affects, wonderfull control and the hack n slash style battle system is refreashing. I didnt like the battle system on the PC baldurs gate, and in fact that was the only thing that kept me from really getting into it. However I gave this game only 3 starts for various reasons. First it was just way to easy. I bought this game on a thursday and passed it on saturday. It wouldnt have been to bad if it was atleast a little longer too. I couldnt beleive how short this game was compared to the rest of the series. Lastly there was a lack of depth. There was just nothing that really grabed me and took me in; Nothing at all. If your looking for something to tide you over for the weekend this game is for you. But rent it, pass it and be done with it.

One of the best multi-player games I've played

Like another reviewer already said this game rental turned into a purchase. We rented this game for two consecutive weeks before we purchased it.

I was not a big fan of Boulder Gate, but I am a hugh of D&D and RPG's. We had so much fun in this game the graphics a incredibly realistic and the sound is unbelieveable. The controler are very easy to manuver. We purchased the original Boulder Gate for PC and was quite dissappointed. Nothing in compairson to X-BOX version.

Even after finishing the game I started my single player game and am almost done with it. The option of importing characters from previous games make this game more diversified.

I would difenatly recommed this game to anyone who likes RPG's
