So I bought this game on a lark, after trying it out for a few minutes. Not too bad. I think that this game is similar to Splinter Cell in that you hug walls, are stealthy, etc. but it's not to that extent. And there is more action, like punching, etc. In terms of gameplay it's a little easy (much easier than Splinter Cell) though your character controls are a little awkward sometimes. The puzzles are not all that challenging. Sydney relies more on using random weapons (i.e. brooms) she finds in the room more than firearms -- you start off unarmed, actually, and you run out of ammo on the rifles you take off of people you beat up. So in terms of character motion control, weapons, stealth moves, it's pretty good, but somewhat limited.
That being said, I think that the reasons why you might buy and like this game are different from why you might like Splinter Cell, etc. This game feels TOTALLY like the TV show. In gameplay mode your character actually looks and moves like Sydney Bristow. Plus they have all the main characters complete with voices, even the tech guy Marshall. The soundtrack is great -- the techno sound makes each mission feel like a real episode of the TV show. Some of the situations are a little fantastic (you beat up a guy and 10 feet away is another guy who doesn't hear the pounding) but you have to let that go.
So I think if you're a die-hard fan of Alias, you'll have a good time with this game. If you're more into action, intellectual challenge or even games that require tactical abilities then Max Payne, Splinter Cell, or the Jedi Knight series might be better. This game is not inferior per se, it's just different. I like it because it feels so much like you're actually in the show.
Amazing...

Ok, I am a hardcore "Buffy" fan, and I have both of the video games. I have always watched "Alias" and once "Buffy" ended, I fell back onto it and it is now my favorite show. I was very excited about the "Alias" game and I checked the site almost everyday, and even preordered it. I got it the day it came out and started to play it that night. I was very surprised at how good it was. This came as a shock to my parents, but I even said it was better than the "Buffy" games! The character graphics are great, they look just like the real people. (Except Sark... he could look a little better.) The game draws you in just like the show. I am on the second to last mission and I am enjoying every minute. It is pretty easy, but there are some tricky parts. The combat is good, and there are a lot of weapons and attacks to utilize against your attackers. All in all the game is great and I recommend it to any gamer, "Alias" fan or not.
fun...a little lacking

If you are a fan of Alias you will love this game. It is a lot of fun, and plays as if you are in the show. Graphics are fantastic. With the exception of two characters, they all look like their tv counterpart.
A few problems:
When the characters talk it looks a bit strange. Would have looked better if the lips stayed still.
The controls/movement are a bit awkward. Especially when fighting, and the controls don't seem logical at times.
Still a lot of fun to play. I am on the second mission. Not to hard and not too easy so far.
OK at first but it gets annoying.

I had played some of this game in a store as a demo and thought it seemed pretty cool. Now that I got to playing it there's some things that are really annoying about it. Like for example breaking down a camera doesn't stay broken down for long, if you come back to the place it's working again. Another is, it's not very stealthy, there's no definate shadows where people can't see you. You can't fill up on ammo either, you use one gun and whatevers left of it after the guy before you used it that's all you got. Also, when you fight you cant direct her where to fight if there's multiple enemys you just got to let her do her thing or it'll throw her all off. The gun is not so fun to use cause you can't really aim it, it'll just shoot and hopefully aim at the bad guy. The health comes back with time so you have nothing to think 'oh I coulda done that better' before you save the game. The people also dissapear after you kill them. All in all I think this is an OK game but small things make it very annoying at points.
disappointing

I bought this game because I'm a huge fan of the show and I usually like games in this genre (007, Buffy). However, I found this game to be very annoying (and not because it was too hard). The controls are a joke. Instead of having one button be punch and another be kick, they are divided into special attacks and quick attacks. I found that I could press the buttons a certain way when fighting and get killed, then I could do the exact same sequence and barely get hit. The moves are totally random! I'm usually the kind of person who has to finish the game before selling it back, but this one irritated me so much that I couldn't wait to get rid of it! As for the look of the game, it's alright. Nothing spectacular. They do a good job of making the characters look like the actors (except for Jennifer Garner!) Another plus is that the real actors do the voices, instead of having someone else impersonate them badly (I'm talking to you Buffy!). I wouldn't recommend this game at all.
Changed my life...

Wow. And I thought immersing myself in the world of SD-6, Credit Dauphine and the CIA was a weekly TV adventure. The ALIAS game lets you LIVE the adventure. Whether you're Sydney on a pulse-pounding, techno-supported mission... or you're Sydney discovering a new piece of the puzzle, the ALIAS game never stops the action. That collection of pixels IS Jennifer Garner, and you won't be the same once you pretend to be her in a 3D universe. Get the game, pop it in your Xbox and prepare to turn down social invitations... it will be your life!
Kind of Blah...

One of the first games I've tried with my new XBox. Not that impressive. Haven't made it all that far, but mostly it seems like you kind of wander around - walking like you've been on a horse too long - and pick up frying pans and hit people with them. Graphics are very disappointing compared to what they could be. OK game, but feels like it was rushed out the door.
NO DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!

I found the graphics and storyline of this game to be great!
It is wonderful that the all of the actors from the show loaned their voices for this game. Definitely worth checking out!
Absolutely Amazing!

I thought this game was an excellent portrayal of the show. I absolutely love Jennifer Garner and Alias so when I heard about this game's release, I was exstatic! The missions are realistic and the characters look pretty darn close to the real thing, Anna and Sark are a little off but other than that, it's great! It's got the real actor's voices and Sydney even walks and runs like the real thing. It's perfect for the die-hard Alias fans out there.
Alias took me by Surprise.

Alias was awsome! The environments and character designs were great. The combonation of stealth and action was a relief of having just stealth or action. This game is worth getting! Anyone who knows what Alias is or has heard about it will love it. The cast of the show lends their voices to this game and is pretty itchen!!!
