This game was more then I expected & very good. The story keeps your interest from the start to finish, there is no guessing where to go or who to talk to next, it is captivating & has unexpected twists, even surprising humor. This adventure does not have a boring moment.

Impressive and fun gameplay because it has easy navigation & an intelligent story that keeps you wondering what is next. The cutscenes, graphics, design, lighting, characters, voice acting, music, all is fantastic in my opinion. A couple of puzzles were difficult but the rest were not. A good walkthrough is available online for anyone that doesn't want to be stuck on a time consuming puzzle.

This game is available for Windows Vista. I highly recommend it if a gruesome story & violent scenes are not too disturbing to you. The profanity in this game is rare, however, the nudity, violent acts to women, & gruesome scenes are not, but is all part of the story.

I really enjoyed this game. It was easy to follow the story line. All you had to do was listen. They didn't delibrately hide things from you and you didn't have to deal with choosing what to say next. I wish all the games were this good.

I expected great things from the team that made Syberia I and II and i was right. Beautiful images, great story and most of all, puzzles that make sense ! Buy this one you wont regret it !

I loved this game! It is one of the best adventure games that I have played in awhile.

This storyline was interesting and keeps getting better as the game moves along. It is also disturbing and creepy with some bad language...kids should definitely not play this one! The main character is feisty and independent which made me like her.

It was very easy to play this game and to move around. The graphics are amazing and the scenes are breathtaking. The murder scenes are very real looking and chilling. Overall I found this to be one of the best looking games that I have played.

The puzzles in this game were hard to solve, but not over the top. One of the puzzles (robot) was hard to conquer based on action sequence and movement, not because it was a brain teaser. I liked that they threw in that type of puzzle to spice things up a bit even if it took me 7 tries to get past it!

This game was so entertaining. I was disappointed that it ended so quickly. I am not sure how many hours it took me to play it, but I know that it was shorter game. I guess that says a lot about how much I liked it, I wanted to keep on playing! It is so hard to find great adventure games and this is one of them. I am now looking for the prequel (Post Mortem) to buy because I enjoyed this one so much.

Today I find that there are many more adventure games out there, but the quality of them has gone down. Many games seem to mirror other adventure games and lack originality or just plain suck with a weak plot and bad gameplay. I picked up Still Life looking for a unique police themed adventure game...but what I got was much more. The plot is very original and the game always keep you guessing as you go deeper into the murder mystery. Switching from Victoria and Gus in the Present to the Past keeps the game is extremely effective. Still Life is a quality adventure game that will please any adventure game fanatic.

(I only discovered today that "Post Mortem" was the prequel and I bought it right as soon as I found out.)

I concur with Derek. There's really nothing standout about this game. You've seen almost all of the puzzles before, some of which are particularly irrelevant to the plot. The voice acting is pretty good and the dialogue is just so-so...and both are downright poor with respect to the parts of the game that take place in 1920's Prague. (Neither the characters' vocabulary or dialect suggest they're from anywhere but present-day America.) And the story of hunting down a serial killer has been done to death. But the graphics are beautiful, especially the in-game paintings (which are central to the game), and the decked-out killer himself.

If you want an innovative adventure game that broadens your horizons, check out The Indigo Prophecy (aka Fahrenheit)--which actually is another serial killer story, but much more interesting in every way--or, even better, get Grim Fandango.

I loved most everything about this game.

The Crime: A+

This game is NOT for young children or the faint of heart as it does feature some fairly graphic, close-up renderings of the serial killer's victims.

Victoria McPherson is the tough, unstoppable FBI agent who is working on solving a number of prostitute killings. The game opens with Vic arriving at the murder scene of victim #5.

Frustrated and told to back off by her boss, Victoria goes home to relax during her off hours and digs up her grandfather's journals. Gustav "Gus" McPherson was a P.I. who worked in the States and in Europe. In the 1930s, he came across a similar serial killer. Could the two cases possibly be linked?

Puzzles: A+

This game brings everything to the table except the kitchen sink. Victoria helps with collection of forensic evidence, takes fingerprints, opens safes, breaks into the FBI archives with the help of bomb sqad robots, and even bakes holiday cookies for her father.

Gus also collects evidence, but without the help of flashy modern forensics. You'll be asked to compare photographs of crime scenes and use a good bit of plain ol' logic to solve his puzzles. Watch out for the lock picking puzzle. That one will give you a headache. This game forces you to use every last brain cell in the search for a killer.

Gameplay: A+

Using items in your inventory took a bit of getting used to, but once you do, it's easy as pie. Both characters have identical inventories and controls.

Time Changes: You switch between two characters, Victoria McPherson, working in the present day, and Gus McPherson, Victoria's grandfather, working an eerily similar crime in Prague in the 1930s.

Voice Acting: A+

Victoria is confident and womanly, Gus is charmingly sarcastic and straight-forward, a "stand-up guy." Minor character's roles are fleshed out by their voice actors very well. The whole game is a treat to the ears.

Music: A

The music compliments several animated action sequences very well and heightens the sense of being there in Victoria's world. It also changes to a charming background patter perfect for a quiet European city in the 1930s. Yummy.

Graphics/Video: A

The game is a treat for the eyes as well as the ears. At first I couldn't get over the angular meanness of Victoria's face, she grew on me as the game progressed. The twisted mask of rage as the killer commits his vicious crime was well animated. The light and shadows also play a big part in this game, adding depth and detail to lonely streets, dark alleys and big-city building fronts.

Technical: A

Perfectly perfect. No install problems or bugs for me.

Overall, this game is a MUST have and one of the best adventure games EVER. It's a thrill-a-minute action ride that will have you biting your nails until the very last second.

While venturing off into psycopathland, still life does provide a few intruiging concepts, peering into the mind of a madman, but alltogether comes accross as just another adventure game, a sad reality, when no advenutre game should ever be called "just another advenuter game"..For all my praising the genre for it's unique ways of presenting it's material, the mechanics of these games are always never unique, and often severly bring down the originallity of them..Still I will take a by the numbers adventure over the latest super powered generic run and gun almost any day..

Its fun, its bloody, and sometimes thrilling. Is it bloody thrilling? Well, no. Still Life is a great game to play while waiting for something more epic to be produced. I liked the challenge of the past and present storylines that intertwined throughout this adventure. What Still Life lacks is engaging characters and a decent ending. I get the feeling this was a game with an intended sequel that was never made...The player is left completely hanging and with no closure. Not exactly a nice reward for spending hours of time devoted to problem solving and some annoying pixel-hunting. If you are bored, in need of adventure, try the Longest Journey, or Syberia first-you'll find much more depth and satisfaction from either of these choices.

This game had the best puzzles and plot. Couldn't stop playing. Part here and part in the past. Cannot wait for more.
