A fantastic game

THis is a great adventure game. THe scenario is perfect, the decors are awesome and the atmosphere is really good. It is playing a good thriller movie scenario. The characters are not so well down but the voices, language are terrific.
THe game is rated Mature and it makes sense for the blood and the killing scenes that you actually see. If you had played Syberia 1 and 2 and loved them dont think, buy it.
The inventory is a downside but hey that is a great game anyway.

woke up my imagination

I really enjoyed the character and different locations. Difficulty was a four star.

Riveting Game!

Victoria McPherson is not someone you'd want on your tail. She seems undaunted in her objective: to hunt down and put away one very sick, twisted serial killer. She's cute, witty and not afraid to confront her tyrannical boss both in attitude and a good dose of profanity.....not sure what it was about her that reminded me of my youngest sister......

Well, we need someone like her, because this killer is a sicko of mammoth proportions. The storyline was addicting as it kept me playing the game just to see what would happen next. Great game to play in the dark, if you want to be creeped out.

Enjoyed the graphics (esp. the scene outside of Pat's house), cut scenes, puzzles, musical score and, of course, Victoria.

The only suggestion would be to cut down on the cursing or replace them with something less offensive.

I look forward with great anticipation the sequel to this game...if you play it, wait for the scenes at the end of the credits!

Still Life is one of the best adventure games I've played in awhile in terms of gameplay and storylines. The game is richly atmospheric, with ambient noise and beautiful backgrounds. The game designers seemed to have embraced their Mature rating with graphic violence and plenty of profanity, which in my opinion adds something to the game.

I found myself getting very involved with this game, to the point where I dreaded entering scenes where I knew something upsetting to the character would happen. The linkage of Gus and Victoria's was very well-done, though it would have been nice to see a bit more of Gus. There were definite improvements in gameplay over Post Mortem, especially the run function and the ability to skip lines of dialouge. I did find the inventory system a bit frustrating, as you often cannot pick up an item until the character knows he or she needs it (even if you as a player know that a knife has GOT to be useful at some point down the road!) These are minor annoyances in a largely entertaining gameplay environment.

Many people have commented on the puzzles; many are typical to the adventure game genre, some are refreshingly creative, and one will have you pulling your hair out and searching the internet for a savegame to get around it.

As everyone else has commented, the ending is disappointment, especially given the fact that Microids no longer exists. If a sequel were indeed planned, though, the ending would serve as a very good cliffhanger for the next. One can only hope that Ubisoft will decide to make that sequel and answer all our questions.

This one is awesome. I recommend it.
It makes more sense to have played Post Mortem before this, but I doubt that it would make a difference if you haven't. Besides, Post Mortem is not the most fun I thought (but it's not too bad).
Still Life was REALLY good & I can't wait for the sequel.

Great Story

My dad gave me this game after he had played it. It's very challenging, and I loved the story line right from the start.
The voice acting is a little strange at times, but overall it's a good script.
The only thing that bothers me is a few of the challenges/activities within the game can't be solved by logic, or information found at the scene. The one I can think of in particularly is picking a lock. Other than that the game is fun and I would recommend it to other people.

So Much Fun.....A Great Game!

This game was so much fun to play! It was creepy enough that it kept me intrested for hours! I didn't want this game to be over, puzzles are easy to solve and there is so much mystery!

Worth it for the Art

I love it even though I've usually played action games, and really don't like puzzles (lots of em - but you can use a walkthrough on tough ones, copy the "solution", no sweat). Now Still Life is one of my top favs, with HL2 and Doom3, because of the game art (not the in-game "art", that's pretty lame, which fits with the story) - this game is absolutely gorgeous, not what we see often in games! The cinematic ambience is laid back and comfy, and the scenes are worth playing just to see them.
I got this after trying CSI Dark Motives (and getting my money back *whew*) which just reminded me how much I don't like Ubisoft - so I'm totally disgusted that they bought Microids. The characters and pacing are excellent too, mostly I just found it too short. The main flaw in my view, which wasn't enough to distract, was the ghastly way the Canadian actors did American dialects (if the non-white characters had a bigger role, then it would have been distracting). You don't have to be a mystery fan to love this ride.

ONE OF THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has to be one of the best games I have played. I would pay this money over and over, and people who design computer games can learn alot from the ones who made this one. Exciting, thrilling, keeps you wanting more. I could not leave my seat I was into this game so much. The graphics are good, and everything about this game is awsome. Very hard to find one that you can't stop talking about, but FINALLY, I found one. This is a must buy!!!
