Amazon should not allow ratings on unreleased products

It's all Amazon's fault for providing the means to rate products that haven't even been released yet. It opens the door to people like that "gamer" guy who go crazy with just a demo.

Infriltrate-annihilate

This game can be described in one word: awesome.Gameplay is awesome, and very laid out, including setting bombs, breaching doors, and setting snipers. The amo clips run out fairly easily, so I found my self often referring to a cheat code website for more ammo. There is only one bad part about this game-and that would be graphics. Don't get me wrong, the visuals are awesome! Yet, the models of the characters would often become disorentated or detail-free. That's only if you can even get it to work... My friend bought this game, but his pc wasn't capiable to handle all the RAM, so he tried to return it, gamespot wouldn't take it back, so I got it. My computers (BOTH!) didn't have graphic cards high enough to even load the game! Plus, my computer is a brand spankin new dell! Very mad, I turned to a friend's house and played it there. Best squad-based game so far, but still the graphics make it nearly unbearable. Almost...4/5 Stars

Return of the 1st person shooter

I had given up on first person shooter games as being boring and requiring little thought. My mind has been changed by this game. Technically, it's first person plural, because in addition to your own character you have a squad of 3 other commandos that you control.

The AI for the squad is great. I was concerned that trying to control them all would be unwieldy, but I've quickly figured out how to manage them and only rarely do they wander off. They often take the logical action in different situations instead of just running around and shooting. As I've progressed further, there have been several situations that require you to place your squad in strategic spots so that overwhelming enemies can be eliminated. And they have some pretty funny things to say at times.

The game play itself is just plain fun. It is very directed, at times I'd like to wander off to explore other areas with my squad, but the direction is intentional and true to life of combat operations. You can't have soldiers running off wherever they please.

The HUD in the trooper's helmet is great. I bet the DoD is working on something just like that right now.

The only drawbacks to the game are the lack of freedom when accomplishing missions, and the lack of a picture guide concerning what the different grenades look like. After collecting several types, I had to use trial and error to figure out which grenades were which. That was painful. Also, make sure your graphics card can play the game. I spent an afternoon trying to find the right card that would work with it(NVidia GeForce 5500, in case you're curious)

Overall, it's a great game. I've had a lot of fun with it and am looking forward to playing through the rest of the levels than trying it online.

Good Graphics, Good Sound

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

This may come as a shocker, but this game is good. There, I said it, good. I have to say that there is a slight scripting, but other than that, good.

1st off is the graphics. Good, but I have seen better. Then again, you cant simply look at a game and say it has good graphics. It does not have many, if any graphics glitches.

Secondly, the sound is incredibly immersive. You hear enemies coming before you see them, and you hear your squadmates walking beside you. Also, the voice acting is nearly unmatched. Also, the squad mates are not just drones, they have witty commentary that can add humor to a situation and offset the serious mood. The weapons have good sound as well, though sometimes they sound strange. Then again, this is Star Wars, they arent real weapons.

Then there is the Gameplay. Absolutely astonishing, though short, the game manages to pull everything off. Your squad mates are intelligent. By that, i mean they will turn around if there are enemies behind them, and they will find cover from the enemies. Also, your weapon can change into an automatic, a sniper rifle, or an anti-armor grenade launcher. This means that your squad mates can snipe, and launch grenades without missing a beat. This also mean you can only pick up one other weapon. My personal favorite is the APC heavy repeater. One thing other people dont mention as much about this game is that your squadmates are unique and different from one another. For example, if an enemy gets close they will use a special manuever to kill them, like slittingf their throats or taking the enemies weapon and shooting them in the back. I havent even mentioned the enemy AI yet. Some of the enemies are smart enough to take cover from you, but some are not. UNfortunately, sometimes, if you get to close to a box, you can get stuck inside it and be forced to exit the game to be free. Also, this can happen to the other commandos as well, but you can kill them and they will be free. Speaking of killing, your squadmates dont die, though they become "incapacitated". You can revive them using an AED. Overall, the game is good. Real good. So what are you waiting for, just buy it.

Great game

This game was a lot of fun to play. The action was interesting and fairly fast paced. The two downsides were that it got a bit repetitious and little strategy was needed to succeed. Overall, however, this game was a great action game with good fight scenes.

Tired of people putting 5 stars on games they haven't played

Haven't played it. Unless you are the designer you have only seen what they are trying to show you to get you to buy it. Don't rate a game until its been released and you have played it. "A gamer" - this kind of false rating boosting is unnecessary unless you are going to make money from the sales. In which case you rating is not to be valuable the those who are actually going to buy the game.

Adrenaline rush!!

Excellent game with an awsome story. Best FPS I have played in a while. The action is intense and non-stop and you have to think about strategy for your team as well as yourself. An easy way to kill a great deal of time - albeit enjoyably.

Playing a role in the Hegalian Dialectic....With a few bugs

Now you too can play a role in the Galactic crisis!

In this game, you are the Solution: a specially created and trained elite clone trooper - A Republic Commando. This 1st person shooter game starts off in a creepy fashion with you floating in a clone vat, an alien voice telling you how "special" you are. Rendered in an enticing manner by the game engine, it cuts to scenes out of the tank where you are being trained by machines then the real game starts.

Aside from the ominous "Police State" overtones, Republic Commando was fun to play. I liked the simple squad controls and the variety of weapons. The game's most unique feature is the "revive" ability of you and your squad-mates. Re-loading a level is rarely necessary if another squad-mate is alive.

The enemy AI was adequate (I really liked the exploding Trandosians - hit them in their back packs and they "take off") but I ran into 3 game-stopping bugs.

These bugs were all the same = reaching a door that cannot be breached/hacked even though it should. I had to use the "level skip" cheat to get around this problem. The single player game is also a little to short.

All in all, the game is fun despite the "Brave New World" overtones.

Lots of fun, where's part 2?

This is an immensely satisfying journey through the life of a Clone Commando, the elite units in the Clone Wars. Featuring fantastic squad-level action, the game shows you parts of Star Wars that you've been wanting to see for years. Your three squadmates are realized expertly, with convincing AI and squad tactics, as well as engaging animation and voice work. However, be aware that this game is reasonably short, rather easy, and ends with a Halo 2 style "Part I" cliffhanger that leaves you wondering when the next one came out, and why they didn't just print "Part I" right there on the box.
