Extreme G3 is the best racing game ever!!!

I was spending the night at a friends house. When we went to go rent a game he rented Extreme G3 racing. I thought that the game would suck. But i was wrong. When we started playing i was immediately hooked.

The levels are gorgeously designed and the colors are vibrant and beautiful. You never get the feeling that your doing the same thing again. The courses are so unique. Some provide challengs such as many turns and loops, while other require you to use your weaponry more.

The co-op mode is a great twist. In most racing games, you only race against your friend. In this mode, not only do you and your friend get to work together, but you get to actually play the game. Race against other racers instead of just each other. The power-ups provide a twist in the gameplay. But as you get the power-ups, so do your opponents, making you have to think about what you get.

This game is one of those games that highlights the excellence of the racing genre. It is perfection, in video game form.

The best game I ever found--by accident!!!

I got this game because it had a picture of a girl on the cover, and I figured my daughter would like it. Well, I of course had to try it out, and lo and behold, I found the best game I have ever owned. I play tons of PC games, and I have every game worth getting, as well as owning about 26 GameCube games. This is a game that tests more than your ability to manipulate a controller, as it requires some intelligent decision making. I am not really that good at most games, and usually plod along on the easy levels, but this game, although it does not have easy normal and hard levels, is almost intuitive. Despite the fact that there is a bit of a learning curve, it is fun all the way.

The scenery is splendid, and I don't just mean graphically, either, as the futuristic settings are compelling.

I am 39 years old, and reach for this game daily. Of all the games I own this is by far the most fun to play, with a real draw to play it again. Best of all, you don't have to trudge through levels with all sorts of hidden stuff to discover. If this is your first game, or if you everyone except this one, get it.

By the way, forget getting it fot the kids. Once an adult tries it out, the kids will be sitting around watching you play.

This game rates an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Extremely Fun, but Gets a Bit Old

This game is pretty good, but rent it before you buy it. The graphics are very good, but some of the courses are easy. Also, to people that don't often buy racing games, I don't recomend it for it might turn you off from that genre. As for racing games, get Mario Kart Double Dash when it comes out, THAT is a good example of a racing game.

I loved it!!!

I'm a huge XG fan and of course I HAD to get this latest version of the game. Although I will admit that it cannot beat XG2 for N64, this game is awesome. It has the feel of extreme speed and the music helps to add to the atmosphere. The graphics are better than ever for any XG game -- as is expected. All of the race tracks are good too. This game has a great replay value because once you beat it on single player you can always play the multiplayer version against friends or team up to race together. I loved the new aspect of being able to race on the same team as a friend! The only improvements to this game would be the addition of a few more tracks, or maybe different variations of the existing ones as in previous versions of XG. Overall, I would reccommend this game to anyone, and it is a must-have if you are a big fan of racing games!!!

The N64 games were better

The Extreme G games have always been about conveying a sense of intense speed and this one falls somewhat short. Riding on souped up motorcycles complimented with machine guns, energy shields, and weapons you can pick up, you race against a field of other drivers on long courses over scenic landscapes. The graphics are very good on this game with a frame rate to match. The action is seemless despite the speeds being traveled. The game falters though in that all the motorcycles are modeled with the same tech specs. Another problem is that you aren't travelling fast enough. In the games for the N64, I was breaking the sound barrier on a frequent basis. I didn't break it once on this game because my bike's not fast enough! With a somewhat awkward game setup, Extreme G3 fails on several aspects but is still not a bad racing game. The bike's handle beautifully, even though the controls could be simplified slightly. Overall it's a decent racing game that fails to live up to the previous titles.

It's o.k., but much cheaper now...

...I've rented it...and played it. I wouldn't spend 50 bucks on it. .... One of the most annoying things that kept me from rushing to get it was the fact that only one track is open to you when you begin, and it takes a lot of practice to get good enough to finish in time to open the next track. Gran Turismo gave players a few different track options, at least. The tracks I've seen on Acclaim's website for Extreme G3 look great...if only they were easier to get to...

Don't believe the hype

Just rented G3 and it's about the most boring game I ever played. The cycles are lame, the weapons are lame, and the enviroment is anything but interesting. Save your money, rent first buy later...

A fast and fun ride...

This game is pretty good. It's not as good as Mario Kart, but it's reeeaaalllyyy fast. If you enter the unlimited boost code, which is L+R, Z, L+R, Z at the title screen, it goes blindingly fast. If you like racing games and you want a great sense of speed, buy it. There are a few b***** parts of the game, however. The races are over too fast, and the sound is a bit muffled. On the other hand, the tracks are beautiful, and the game runs silky smooth.

It's Great!!!!

As it's name suggests, Acclaims supersonic racer pulls some "Extreme G's" with garavity-defying courses and insanely fast driving. When it comes to racing games that convey a sense of speed, EG3 is the leader of the pack, and gamers will feel like they're practically pinned against the chair when they fire up a turbo boost aboard one of the bikes of the future. Excellent track design guarantees that every race is like a roller coaster ride, complete with topsy-turvy roadways that twist upside down and climb or drop at 90 degree angles. The responsive controlls are vice tight, you can press R and L as hard as you need to lean onto a turn. The third installment of XG brings back the heavy artillery, so you can blast rivals while the addition of changing weather will keep you on your toes. The white-knuckle action blurs by at avery smooth 60fps, and the tempo is matched only by the grooves of the games techno music, which thumps in Dolby Surround. The ultracoolsci-fi chic of the high-gloss graphics complements the tunes, but Acclaim goes a little overboard with the games hipper-that-thou aesthetic since the futuristic gauges and tunes are so styliezed that it's hard to figure out what they mean. But who has time to stare? EG3 is unbelievably fast, and it's a ride highly recommended for racing fans.

I got the game but....

I have this game. And i fell in love with the other 2 XG racing games. I dont see what 1 guy has with it going too fast.. geez the game takes place in the future! Like 300yrs from now! The graphics are too beautiful! Well, the game is GREAT! except for... it ends too fast. The missions only get tougher and tougher, in less than 3days i beat the whole thing =( Just rent it, beat it, and youll get the full experience. If your a newbie to videogames, just go to gamewinners.com and get the cheats for it. Hmmm, well the graphics are great, and so is the music! However even though they say who made the music. You do a search for the bands, or the songs, and youll find absolutly nothing. At best youll find C90 as a joke on C-3po from star wars ;) Well just rent it, enjoy, then buy something else thats nice.

Dannyboy =)
