Very good but...

I love this game!! The racing is challenging yet rewarding at the same time. You complete grand prix's to get new tracks and chances at new cars. I also like the crashes...its a lot of fun to crash as much as you can but still finish the race. I would have given the game a ten except for one thing. The tracks are repetative. You open up a new track and it is just bits of old tracks pieced together and done backwards. Nevertheless, the game is still very challenging and fun. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a good, fun racing game.

Excellent Game with one major flaw

The controls are good and the crash scenes are superb. The flaw is what almost all racing games have you have to earn money to unlock extremely good cars or radical race tracks. Get this game if you plan on just racing and HAVING FUN!

This game is going to be great

I have recently Play this game for about one hour and I am hooked. This game is one of the best racers for The G-Cube. I would have given this game five stars but it did not have all the multiplayer options that you would expect from a racer.

Give this one a miss

I really regret purchasing this game. Good idea, poor implementation.

The back cover leads you to believe that the game is all about terrific crashes. In the game itself, the crashes are far from spectacular, and after a few crashes you're tired of seeing the tri angle view. The car models themselves are only marginally destructable, and the environment is not destructable at all, leaving you wishing you could skip the instant replay of the boring crash scenes.

I spent the first few minutes of the game going through menus to turn off the terrible music. Graphically, the game is anything but impressive.

I wouldn't reccomend this title to anyone, it seems as though little to no effort went into the development of this game.

Race Race!

One of the best games ever to be on face of this planet. No racing game is as good as this with the exception of Need for speed hot pursuit 2. If you don't like cars you might even like it anyway. I really reccomend it. Don't listen to any bad reviews.

totally awesome!

What can I say about this game? It`s plain awesome!Cars are cool, levels are cool, everything about this game is cool!Graphics are excellant, gameplay is on,crashes are sweet, but it`s the boost that gets you.In my opinion,it`s called NOS.NOS is right on when you get it fully charged up.I don`t recommend getting this on the PS2,considering you might brake your controller, you`ll get so mad at it.But get this game on the GC.If I gave it a rating on a scale of 1 to 10,I`d give it a 15. :)

I lucky I rented this before I purchased it because the game is really boring and there is only a couple of vehicles to use.I almost blew....alot of money but, instead I got Super Smash Bros...The crashes are stupid, the hood gets a LITTLE DENT and the windows crack.I don't like games that time you either.I would recomend you to get Super Smash Bros. Melee or Starwars Rogue Leader or SSX Tricky, because those are the best games on Gamecube so far....there are lot's of new games coming out so just wait. When I rented Burnout...I thought that the crashes would be better, the graphics would be better, the sound would be better, the gameplay would be better, but all of it was WORSE!

Excellent driving game!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 4

This is probably the best driving game I've played in a LONG time. Burnout is not a driving simulation (like F1, Driven, etc..) it is very much a game (Ridge Racer, Demolition Racer, etc...)- and a fun one at that. The tracks are very well designed, the car control is fantastic, and the extra features are neat (you can replay and save crashes to the MC.) One really cool feature of the game is that crashes are assigned 'points' by the dollar amount of damage.

Pros: Fun. Good control. Execllent AI. A zillion well designed tracks. 16x9 mode. Crashes are fun to watch. Good feeling physics model.

There are very few cons and are they are pretty minor. The graphics are very good, but you can tell this was made for 3 different systems. It doesn't seem to take good advantage of the extra horsepower the GC/Xbox have over the PS2. Still, it has better graphics than many other GC/Xbox titles. Also there's no track progress icon anywhere on the screen. There's no way to know how far behind or ahead you are and with the scope of the tracks they can feel a bit long- not knowing where the start/finish line is. It also doesn't allow for the added racing gameplay element when you're just barely ahead and trying to stay there.

(very minor) Cons: No apparent extra zing for CG vs. PS2, No 16x9 progressive. No track progress graphic.

Overall it's right up there with Rogue Leader as far as great gameplay. Well worth the $[money]!

It's "ok"...

This game is good and fun and everything like that... but "Burnout 2: Point of Impact" is way, WAY better!!
