The colorful graphics, catchy background music, and funny theme of this game make it thoroughly enjoyable for everyone. You basically maneuver Billy around a beautiful and lush 3D world, looking for and pushing/rolling giant eggs. It is hysterical when you jump on the egg and start rolling with it like a downhill "snowball". As you are either rolling or pushing the giant egg, you can destroy you enemy (sharks), jump over abysses, and crash through baracades. My 3 year old was laughing the the whole time at the funny visuals this game provided. As you roll over your enemies, this "feeds" the egg (or at least it's inhabitant), and the egg gets bigger. The egg contains an "elder" that must be fed and ultimately hatched. OK, its not "Grand Theft Auto" or "Splinter Cell", but its a great arcade game that is challenging and won't give your kids nightmares!

Ah, a new Sonic Team game. After a year in the multiplatform business, gaming mastermind Yuji Naka of Sonic the Hedgehog fame decides to create a new game. Since Sonic Adventure 2 Battle a year ago was a success, why not? So he made an original game after 7 years, and I must say, he did a fine job. Sonic Team fans who don't own it, slap yourselves; this one's for you! Here's the review
This game's got a dang freaky story. The evil Dark Raven has turned the Chicken Elders into eggs, so the chicken god Menie-Funie calls Billy Hatcher to bring morning to the land. To hatch the elders you are given a rooster suit. And there's the story.
The game play is unique- using that rooster suit of yours, you get an egg, roll it around. Find some enemies, and then use the egg to beat them up. They drop fruit, and that's how they hatch and stuff. Hatch them- you could get a monster or an item. These things can seriously help you out on Billy's quest.
Graphics are pretty nice. They support a cartoony feel for younger gamers, and the characters show comical expressions on their faces to light up the face of a little kid. It's a nice touch to such a great game.
Sound is neat- it has simple guitar tunes, and then some odd little jingles. It's not a butt-rock collection, just a kid-friendly soundtrack.
Extras are basically if you collect enough chick coins you can unlock Sonic Team character eggs, like Sonic, Nights, the works. And if you hatch the right eggs, you can unlock GBA downloadable mini-games.
The bottom line is that Sonic Team made a good game when the last original game they made was 7 years ago. I'm just glad it made me SOO happy to own. I recommend it to platformer fans or Sonic Team fans or just some gamer that needs an original game.
Sonicteam and SEGA have done it again.

I think the thing that attracted me the most was the creativity of the story. I mean, how many kids in chicken suits rolling eggs to save the world from evil crows have you seen lately?? SEGA and Sonicteam have been noted for this kind of creativity with Sonic. Before Sonic I had no clue what the heck an echidna was. And how many blue, loved by a pink hedgehog, high speed, save the world from an egg shaped man, hedgehogs have you seen?? Definately awesome and more for the puzzle fans then the fans of high-speed games like Sonic 2 and Sonic 1. How fast can you go rolling an egg twice you size?? But as always, for the Sonic fans enjoyment, they've put in some cameos ^^ Why don't you buy the game and find out where those cameos are? Go forth young or old game lover and buy this egg rolling disk of happiness ^^
:) n.n I loved it!

I loved it. However, I do not usually like to play too hard or violent a game. When ever I get tired of rolling baddies over, I just play multimode and hatch eggs. It's not just that though. For you blood-thirsty types, you can destroy baddies or play survival with your friends.

Get ready for some scrambled eggs because the world has just got chickened out. Billy Hatcher is a game made by sonic team and sega. If you are a sonic the hedgehog fan (like me) then I highly recommend Billy Hatcher, even if you have never heard of sonic or sega I still recommend it. I absolutly loved this game, it was just hard enough and had an interesting plot. The plot was about how evil crows led by the sinister Dark Raven try to take over Morning Land a sunny tropical world that has chickens inhabitants. You are Billy Hatcher a young boy who shows his courage when a chick is about to be hurt by a crow. The grateful chick sends Billy and his friends to Morning Land where they use a ledgendary chicken suit to roll eggs around and squash those annoying crows back to where they came from. Keep up in fast paced rolling, slaming, jumping, squashing, pushing and just plain fun! Some features: multiplayer, story mode, multiple characters, great graphics and cute creatures.
This game is awsome!

This game is one of the best games for Game Cube. You play as a kid named Billy who goes on an exciting adventure to save a happy world from evil crows who are led by The Dark Raven who is led by The KING CROW. And if that doesn't sound fun enough this game also comes with a really fun two player battle mode where you hatch cute animals from eggs! This fun game is for all ages!
Gotta love it!!!

Sega(the masters of video games) are back again with this action/adventure title from Sonic Team. The game plays exclusivly on Gamecube. It stars (as described in title) Billy Hatcher. A normal kid who was summoned to Morning land to bring day light back to their world and ours. With the bright worlds and childish humor it is no wonder they picked the GC for such a game. The levels are rather large. Taking place in five or more different sections per level. Each split into a kind of mini adventure. The controls can be frustraiting in the begining, but once you have gotten use to that it is clear sailing. The game is a kinda mixture of Mario Sunshine, and Nights. Night's influence into the game is obvious by the grading system at the end of each level, loops that hurl you through the air in some levels, the controls while dealing with an egg,the soundtrack, the character design, and the story. Mario's is obvious by having more than one objective to each level, and having to collect chicken coins, and emblems. (Instead of blue coins and stars)The real genius in the game however is the egg system. There are many different types of eggs. Each kind having a different item inside. Some are just additions to the chiken suit while others are egg animals. Each item will come in handy throughout the game. The most fun part is trying to hatch every egg you see just to see whats inside. Some are duds but they are rather easy to notice. Yet still come in handy at times. keep in mind that without an egg your pretty much hopeless. So you might want to try to keep one on hand. which should'nt be hard considering they are everywhere you look. I had a blast playing this title. I think anyone should. For those of you who have lots of partys this game also has a party game bonus that is for up to four players. Where you battle each other for the most points.Additional bonuses include mini games that you can download to the Game Boy Advance. If you have kids they will be hooked to it the instant you put it into the system and hit the power. Some adults might find it too childish ,but i still recommend playing it. I swear you'll have so much fun. Just to be on the safe side you might want to check into renting it. If you really like it buy it. If you kinda like it buy it used. It is made by SEGA so your gonna get a triple A game. One that your just going to fall in love with. They can do no wrong. So what are you waiting for? Go pick up a copy of Billy Hatcher today!!!
Fun Game!

Okay, I've heard a lot of bad reviews about this game, and I really don't think that they do the game justice. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg is a fun game, though it can be frustrating at times. In the game, you take control of a kid named Billy and roll eggs around to squash the crows that are trying to take control of a place called Morning Land, world of the chickens. There are several areas of Morning Land, including Forest Village, Pirates Island, Dino Mountain, Blizzard Castle, Circus Park, Sand Ruin, and the Giant Palace. The storyline is that Billy Hatcher is late to meet his friends in a clearing in the woods. When he meets them, a chick being attacked by a crow wanders into the clearing. Billy saves the chick and fighs the crow. He's victorious, and he gets transported to Morning Land, the land of chickens. Billy has to roll around eggs to squish crows and defeat many crow bosses, defeat Dark Corvo the crow prince, and then defeat Dark Raven, the king of all crows! There are several eggs to hatch, which can contain power-ups such as the speed shoes or the light comb, animals such as Cipher and Richie, items such as the gorilla or the fox, a chick bomb, a chicken elder such as Oma-Oma or Ponee, an extra life, a force-field bat, or even a crow that levitates over Billy's head spreading darkness. Overall, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg is a fun game that can be frustrating at times, but it's really easy to get caught up in the game. (The Legendary Giant Egg of Morning Land is HUGE!!!!!!!!)
