Speed racing

Quickly, this is a great game for on the go gaming. Also, it shows off the PSP's awesome graphics power. It even has weapons?!? It can get boring at times though, no biggie. So for $40.00, you cant really go wrong with this game unless you hate racing.

I'm a sucker for a first time experience, so the first Wipeout on PS is still my fave although XL had it's moments. Like the first time I played Tomb Raider on PS1 (way before that type of gameplay ran rampant and got stale), Wipeout on PS1 took me away and made me forget I was playing a game. Wipeout Pure ALMOST does that which is saying a lot.
Wipeout not only shows how solid the Wipeout gameplay can be (with great options and quick plays added that a handheld system needs to keep the replay factor up), it really showcases the graphics/sound of PSP. If this is what a launch title can do on PSP, I can't wait to see when they start pushing the system.

Sounds and looks beautiful, and plays as good as the best Wipeout. So far I'm 3 for 3 in games (Lumines and Ridge Racer are also winners...I am playing Tiger Woods later this week)

For all of you who have played the old and yet still fun Wipeout on the playstation, this new addition to the series is a must have. I have rated it in 3 categories that discuss different aspects of the game.

1. Gameplay- Just the game feels is fantastic. The new and improved system of different styles of weapons and extras is an exceptional addition. The ships are are extremely easy for all types of gamers to handle. The button layout is nicely spread out and easy enough for anyone at any age to learn. Overall= 4/5

2. Graphics- The graphics presented for Wipeout Pure are amazing for such a small device. The whole entire presentation is crisp and sharp as it can get. The colors are vibrant and easy enough to see in those long dark night vacation trips. Overal = 5/5

3. Capacity- The game has over 16 maps and so far from what i can see up to 12 vehicles. I do wish though it is explained in the manual how to unlock everything such as maps and different playing modes. I felt that there was a lack of overall selection but yet enough to keep me occupied for hours. Overall = 4.5/5

this was my first psp game. it is really fun but i wish it had a battle type mode and that it was a little easier. it also has a glitch that lets you surf the web!it shows off the psps cpabilitys too. i reccomend this as a first psp game to anybody.

Finally a game I can get into!

I bought Wipeout Pure a few days back. Probably the best game I've seen in awhile (including consoles, folks). The graphics and music are perfectly used on the PSP. As for the gameplay itself, it's challenging, but still fun enough that you won't get frustrated. Think Gran Turismo with a higher learning curve basically. I love this game and if you happened to love the original Wipeout games or even the Jet Moto games (faves of mine) then you'll probably love Wipeout Pure. Just be willing to give the racing some time. Try some time trials and whatnot on the tracks to get accustomed to them.

This is probaly the best game I've played on the PSP. The graphics, relatively speaking, are very good. The music is GREAT. It comes packed with some of the classic races along with new ones. It really puts your skill to the test every time you play a new level of difficulty and it almost never gets boring. What sets this game aside from other racing games is that you have a variety of weapons and power-ups which are, if you know how to use them, a great help to winning races and it adds lots of fun. Overall this game is great, GET IT.

I dig the Wipeout games, they're about the only racers I bother to play anymore. This one is no exception. The play control, once you get used to being on a PSP, is pretty great, the graphics are amazing (I couldn't believe I was playing a portable system @ first). There are not as many levels as there could be, but some of the levels are the most fun I have encountered in any racer outside of the arcade. The only complaint I have, is that there does not appear to be an option to upgrade your ships. To me that was one of the best features of the Wipeout series, adding even more replay value. Then again I have not yet beaten the game entirely, and perhaps it is an option I have not unlocked yet. Whatever the case, the game goes for pretty cheap (I paid $10) and is well worth the money by my standards. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes fast paced games who owns a PSP.

This game is pretty darn good. The sound tracks are decent and the graphics are excellent. Only thing I that made me not give it a perfect score is that the tracks are very short. In the slowest class a lap is approximately 50 seconds. I'm hoping we are not hitting some physical limit on the psp because that would be quite a shame that level loads would be limited due to the amount of ram the unit has.

Otherwise, I recommend this game to any racing fan.
