I loved tetris DX but without the saving of the scores it takes some of the fun out of it. The grapics are cool and i like the new modes. This is a good game but not as good as tetris DX

This game is definitely worth picking up. It's one of those video games you can pick up and play at anytime. There are multiple types of Tetris, from the classic to the weird (sticky, cascade), but it's a great game to have on hand. It's even better when played on the GBA SP, it helps tremendously to have the background light on.

Not what I expect from the new version of Tetris ...

Although this Tetris is still fun as with the old ones. I'm fairly disappointed on the graphics of it. I play a game called Fantasy Tetrix and it's a 3D version of Tetris with awesome music and the blocks aren't flat they are rounder and look like real bricks. I was thinking that the new Tetris world would be just like that but it turns out the only thing 3D about it is the background which sometimes interferes with your game play bcuz there's too many things moving around in the background for example the little square they call Mino who examines your moves. He bounces around in the background then disappears but reappears. I think you should try the Fantasy Tetrix. You can download the demo and try it for yourself. I'm telling you this is what the new tetris should of looked like. But overall the game is still fun but it has it's disappointing moments. Compared to the old Tetris for Gameboy the Gameboy is better that the Gameboy Advance one. http://games.softpedia.com/public/cat/2/2- 284.shtml

Not so bad...

I see many reviews here saying this Tetris for GBA is so hideous it's responsible for global warming and causes cancer. I find, given the limitations of the GBA platform, it's not so bad.

Tetris is an addictively fun game - this has been well-established for decades as there were fun versions back before there were computer mouses.

Handheld gaming systems are, by necessity, limited. When I need to take a trip across town and the SUV is available, I don't jump on my bicycle. When I want to watch a movie and the 42" plasma is available, I don't pull out the 7" traveling DVD player. Similarly, Gameboy Advance is not the way I pass my time when I have access to more diverting things, such as PC games, etc. For me, GBA is a way to pass 30 minutes waiting at the airport or the dentist's office, and I find this version of Tetris just fine for that.

I see many complaining that they don't have the opportunity to "save" their high scores. All I can say is that if any significant portion of your self-esteem is derived from "hey, dudes! Check out my high score on GameBoy Advance!" - you are in serious need of a life.

Is Tetris fun? Yes. Is this one fun and does it reproduce the pertinent aspects of Tetris in a way that maintains it's addictively fun nature? For me it does. Can I show off my high scores? Mercifully, I have no desire to.

Good tetris, Bad backgrounds

I just bought this Tetris game. I grew up with the black and white computer game "Nyet", before it was even called Tetris, so I love the Tetris game. The Tetris game itself was fine.

However, the backgrounds were horrible - mostly dark, with animated animals and an annoying flying cube with eyes getting in the way. The distractions might be good for building my concentration, but the backgrounds were so darkly colourful that I had trouble seeing the blocks properly. So they were a) cheesy, b) distorted the outline of the tetris blocks, and c) walked/swam/flew around a lot, so that it made the tetris blocks even harder to see.

I bought this game despite the mostly negative reviews because there wasn't another tetris gameboy advance game at the stores around my place. So it's enough to satisfy my Tetris fix, but I really wish it were better. That is, simpler, like white blocks on a black background, so I could concentrate on the game more than the bad graphics

This game has it all - including a hidden version of Popular Tetris that acts just like the older GB version! The multi-player rocks and some of the new Tetris games are quite fun.

Not bad

This game is okay. The game portion of the display takes up only 1/3 of the screen. The other 2/3 are graphics on the left and right side. At first I thought this would be a problem, since the tiny screen of the GBA gives me headaches at times. But it plays fine, and no problems seeing things. The controls are fairly smooth, but take a little getting used to. The "Ghost" feature is helpful. It shows you where and how a piece will lie, as it is still falling.

wonderful

This game is much better then the tetris games for Gameboy or gameboy colour. The colours are just great and the stages are awsome. For ppl that love tetris it is a must have it brings tetris to a whole new level.

Irritating Background

The gameplay is slow and the background is very distracting and irritating. Fishes, shapes, etc fly around the background and it kinda distracts you while you are trying to play. I rather have the Tetris DX version for the color gameboy. Another feature not added in this version is that there is no saved high scores. On the DX version, all your high scores are saved so that you can try to beat it the next time you play. Not Recommended. Sorry!!!

I love this game!

I got the GBA for myself after Christmas & my birthday (Since no one got it for me. (That's the problem with getting older, less toys as gifts)) Anyway, had to get my favorite video game ever for it. Love the variations. Well, this isn't much of a review except to say that I like it, for what that's worth to you. :)
