I bought this game yesterday and I love it! It uses the GBA's advanced graphics capabilities way better than other side scrollers like Castlevania. The gameplay is fairly realistic and fast-moving with lots of action. Like the Spiderman games for the GBC, the levels are vast and colorful, and in "Mysterio's Menace" they are also quite realistic as well. There are also 3 difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, and Superhero. I started out on easy and went through the first few stages fairly easily, and defeating Hammerhead, Electro, and Rhino(the bosses) was fairly easy. On normal, the levels aren't too hard, but the bosses are really hard to defeat. Neat powerups, like special armor and web cartridges keep the game interesting. Overall, I strongly recommend this game, especially if you haven't been impressed by the GBA's rather weak showing up to now in the game department.
Fantastic, best graphics, animation, gameplay, and variety

After playing every Spiderman and X-Men game for the Super Nintendo, I was expecting the same sort of mediocre game. Instead this game is an amazing platform adventure. The graphics first off, the backgrounds and levels are incredible and detailed. There are bright colors, great backgrounds and lighting. The animation runs smooth for all of the characters and enemies. Second there is fantastic play control and a variety of tactics, from punches and kicks, to shooting a web around goons and even shooting a web bullet. Also, it is probably the simplest game to stick to the walls and ceilings. Just walk into it and Spiderman will cling! Also in this game you are able to select different levels that fit what villain or crime you are trying to conquer, rather than just beating a level and going to the next without a choice. With the past Spiderman games, it gets very boring fighting the same thugs time after time, with this game there are lots of different looking thugs for Spiderman to take on, and a comic book storyline between levels too!
A very good game

Although I have had the GBA for only a week, i have tried out 25 games already.....In the scrolling action genre, i find that Spiderman is the absolute best......it uses the advanced graphics to the full and has many action-packed fun levels....in consideration of all the other games out there, if you wanna buy a scroll-game, this is THE one.......
THE BEST!!

This is a definite classic. The best out there. It has the new Advanced Game Boy graphics. You will find 3-d things in it. The game play is astonishing. I have beaten it twice but I still find it fun to play because of all of the moves. It comes with fighting combos that are much easier than the Mortal Kombat combos that require things like left-right-jump-punch-left-down. It has good replay quality because the difficulty level is alot harder when changed. I highly recommend this instant classic to be the first game you buy. It was my first game for it and I am not sorry. So if you like scrolling action, fighting and adventure then buy it now.

Vicarious Visions and Activision , the great game companies who made Spiderman for the Playstation and Dreamcast, once again team up to make the successful "Spiderman Mysterio's
Menace" for the Gameboy Advance.
Out of all the portable consoles in history, the Gameboy Advance, has probably the best lineup of games I've seen, and you can add this game to that list.
------
Story
------
Peter Parker (Spiderman) is talking to his great love Mary Jane, when he sees on the tv, that a great number of crimes are being committed in New York.
Spiderman then must try to stop the criminals and try to bring peace and safety to New York City. Spiderman though will have his hands, as he must fight a number of formidabble and familiar enemies that Spiderman fans will recognizne.
The lineup of enemies include "HammerHead", "Rhino", "Mysterio", and a gang machine gun happy gangsters and deadly ninjas.
Even making the game that more challenging is the fact that in several areas of the game Spiderman must rescue a group of hostages.
Graphics 10:
Spiderman games have come a long way since the first Spiderman came out from Parker Brothers for the Atari Systems.
From the Genesis system to Supernes, to Gameboy
Color, to the Gameboy Advance, to the Playstation, each Spiderman has constantly gotten better in the area of graphics.
The graphics in this game are gorgeous, wonderful 2d and 3d graphics are echoed throughout the game.
"Rhino", "Hammerhead" and others look like comic book counterparts. There are really 3 great graphics area in the game, and they are done very well. First is the intro of the game which is excellently done with a nice blend of music. the intro looks extremely cool, because it looks virtually an animation of the comic book.
The 2nd graphics area is stats screen. The stats screen reveals in what area Spiderman is, how much webbing Spiderman has left, and other details.
The 3rd area in the game are the mission and intermission screens. These scenes are all 2 dimensionally animated
in true color form and they look gorgeous on the screen.
Overall, I was not only suprised by the great
graphics for the game, but I was impressed.
Sound and Music: 7
The sound and music in Spiderman, just like the graphics for the game are extremely good, in fact it was better than I expected!!!
Everything from Spiderman's "spider senses" to "Rhino" growl and killer attacks, all come with their individual sounds.
Overall the sound in "Spiderman Mysterios Menace " is very well done.
The music is divided into different areas of game: The levels of the game, come with different tunes and soundtracks.
The stat screen in the game also comes with it's own music.
The best music in the game, that I loved was the intro at the beginning, it mean it just really cool!! In fact, it had me jazzed up to play the game.
--------------
Control 7
------------
I was extremely satisfied with the controls for this game.
Unlike the Playstation and Dreamcast versions of Spiderman, which can get a bit frustrating the control for "Spiderman Mysterio's Menace" is virtually perfect.
Wow!!!
Spiderman has a variety of moves, combos and
special abilities that can you do.
First is Spiderman's web slinging.
Simply by tapping the A button twice, Spiderman can swing from building to building with ease. You can also websling and attack enemies at the same time!!!
This has many advantages of the game, as many enemies are at angles, or high altitudes in the game.
Spiderman's combos, consists of a regular punch,
a superpunch, and a great uppercut. You also have a regular kicking, a sweeping kick and a great jump kick (which can you do as you are webslinging!!!!)
Pressing the Start Button reveals the stats screen which reveals, the area Spiderman is , along with his web supply, the areas Spiderman has completed, and the number of hostages
Spiderman has rescued.
Overall, I was very pleased with the controls. Activision and Vicarious Visions did a great job in this area.
-----------
Overall 9
------------
I gave "Spiderman Mysterio's Menace" a 10 because virtually all areas of the game were excellent done.
Activision has continually improved the Spiderman games that they done have done over years. There are also many challenging enemies in the game. I also like the fact, that game companies
included many of Spiderman's foes like "Hammerhead", "Mysterio", and "Rhino".
"Spiderman Mysterio's Menace" is just a great game, and I highly recommend the game to any Spiderman fan.
Best game boy advance game so far

This is in my opinion the best game the Game boy advance has to offer so far. I've played a bunch of other games on this system like castlevania, pitfall, Army Men, X-men and Earthworm Jim and these are all similar action games to spiderman, but this Spiderman game is definitely the best one out of all of them. They put a lot of work into making this game fun, colorful, action-packed, and challenging. I hope that this game boy advance can continue putting out games that match up to the quality of this one.
THIS THING ROCKS !!!

Who would have thunk that this game would actually be successful? When i first bought this game, i thought that it was another game for my GBA. Everything is mind blowing, and i luv it! There is only one con: I thought that this game would be much longer. Due to the rising pile of homework, it took me 2 weeks to finish this thing. But if it was the summer vaca(tion), it would take me merely two days. I have to admit that this game did make up for its short playing time. The only problem is that i got all the powerups except one. I would highly recommend this game for kids ages 10 and under.

The web crawler is back to catch Mysterio in this game for GBA. You could climb up walls and swing through the city on sky scrapers, and save the city from Mysterio master plans of taking it over.
Spidey's back for a third time on the handheld system!

Spider-Man hasn't done terrible for a single game! Spidey's swinging onto a GBA for the first time! The graphics look great, Mysterio is trying to make the city a living heck! If Spidey dosen't hurry, New York will be a virtual nightmare!

This game is great and a must have if you have a Game Boy Advance. The bad thing is that it is too short only 7 levels.
