One of the best Pinball Games out there...

Like it or not, Pokemon is here to stay for the long term. Nintendo/Creature/GameFreak, have created one of the most, if not THE most successful gaming titles in the history of electronic gaming.

Following in the footsteps of the successful Ruby and Sapphire releases for the Gameboy Advance console, the Pokemon phenemenon enters the "pinball" arena once again, with the highly anticipated "Pokemon Pinball:Ruby and Sapphire" title only available on the Game Boy Advance console.

Like all preceeding Pokemon games, regarless of genre, this one is destined to be added in the ever growing list of wildly popular and successful Pokemon titles, and for very good reason.

Nintendo took their time on this game, not merely a generic pinball game with the Pokemon marque slapped on it. In fact, just the opposite. This game was thoughtfully put together with some very original ideas put in place, that meld very well with Pokemon's "Gotta Catch 'em All" premise.

The game comprises of two seperate tapes, each appropriately named "Ruby and Sapphire", with the exception of the "flippers" all other actions are either Pokemon items, seen in the game, anime, etc, or performed by Pokemon characters from the Ruby and Sapphire games.

Starting the game is elementry, with the player being given the choice of either starting on the "Ruby" or "Sapphire" tables. Each table presents its own unique challenges, and both tables are very original in their design and layout. Spoink, the "pig type" Pokemon provides the work of the "launching plunger" for both games, with several different type Pokemon also playing key roles, such as Latias (Sapphire Table) Latios (Ruby Table) Zigzagoon, Shapedo and a host of others.

Like any other pinball type game, the object remains the same, to achieve a "mission" and get the highest score possible, with the 1st place score being a default 100,000,000. The premise here, is to "complete your Pokedex" of over 200 Pokemon using the pinball tables to unlock different areas, that can provide bonuses to players who are "pinball wizards". There are bonus screens, that are also activated when certain tasks are completed.

I have played a lot of pinball type games in my day. However, Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire is by far and away the BEST pinball game out there in the areas of graphics, sound and general originality.

For anyone who is a pinball wizard, or enjoys this popular pastime, this game is a MUST!

My son just turned 6. We gave him a game boy advance for his birthday. He ordered this game with some birthday money and LOVES it. He chooses this game over the others when he plays. We actually only paid $15 for it. It was listed as a clearance game a few weeks ago!

What do you get when Pikachu has pin"balls"...a cool game

I've always been a fan of video game pinball, and regular pinball included. My favorite on the GB was "Revenge of the Gator", a wildly creative pinball game featuring alligators as part of the interior design. Amid the sometimes difficult bonus stages, this game was pretty good.

Now several years later, Pokemon takes it to pinball territory with Pokemon Pinball. I never played the version on GBC, but I liked pinball (and I do watch Pokemon occassionally) so do the two together work?
Oh yeah. Catching Pokemon is of course the key. The bonus stages themselves could have been seperate tables but thankfully, it almost takes away the poor fact that there's only 2 tables to choose from. However, each table presents it's own strategies and pacing to prove your skills. And with over 200 Pokemon, you'll be addicted to this gem for a while.

This is a GREAT GAME!

I have the Red,Blue,Yellow,Gold,Silver,Crystal,Ruby, and Sapphire Pokemon versions. Out of all of them, this is the best! Although it doesn't have a rumble like the original one, WHO CARES? I think upgrading to a Master Ball is cool. The graphics are SHARP!!!!! The ball shooter is a spoink, which I think is tight.

This is one of the best pinball games that I have played. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to write one myself. The game does kick butt, and for those persestent players, you do get rewarded. I have caught Jirachi in Pinball. keep in mind that you have to play for a long time, and my score was, i think, the highest ever seen, about 1,470,000,000, yes 1.5 BILLION. Just be persistent and catch em all!!!

A game out of it's crowd

I am getting a litte bit sick and tired of people saying "Why and the heck did this junk?" or "I wasted my money on this poop!" well truth is I don't think so. I love this game vey much! No mather you opinion is I love it. You can rate this a bad review. But here is the truth. I think you just don't like it because you can't win it. I can't win it. Yay I get frustrated when I don't catch a pokemon but I try again. Most people think of it as junk you would put in the trash. If you didn't like it turn to the other side of the package before you buy it and say "Pinball? I won't win and I don't like." and just don't buy it. If you wanted to say bad things abouth the game go to www.this poemon pinball poop sucks.com and put it there. I don't think of any of my games like junk (except for pokemon blue). This is fun. Since I don't have version ruby I always play buby usually. You probably are not good at it or don't like it. At a time I was really bad and wanted to give it back and sell it on eBay(my mom sells it). Then I practiced and got better. Simple. Live it. Learn it. Play it. That's all you have to do to win this game.

Pinball in a whole new way!!

I really liked this game (even though i'm a girl). It is very interesting. If you can't catch pokemon on the normal games you catch them in pinball! I don't like normal pinball but I definily like pokemon pinball!! I spend a lot of time playing it. It is two versions in one! If you have saphire version you can catch ruby pokemon. If you have ruby version you can catch saphire pokemon. If you have both it'll look good in your collection. You can even catch Gold,Crystal, and Silver Pokemon on the Ruby board! You can even catch Jirachi! You can catch 205 of 206 (except for deoxys). You catch Groundon,Kyorge, and Rayquaza on bonus mode. I don't like the original version that much, although. Go to www.Serebii.net\pokemon pinball RS for more information on the game.

Great!

...this game is great! It can be frustrating at times, though. It's fun to catch pokemon, and evolve! You can catch pokemon, evolve them, play mini games, and keep your own personal pokedex! Collect legendaries, and even catch baby pokemon! There are two pinball machines, ruby and sapphire.

I recomend it for pinball and pokemon lovers!
