While Ultima Online is one of my favorite wastes of time, and a very in-depth MMORPG, I have to give this particular purchase an incredibly crappy rating. "Why?", might you ask? Here's why... the manual inside has nothing but two blank, white boxes where the registration and upgrade codes should be. In other words, I've spent $24.97 for absolutely nothing, and EA's customer support has nothing helpful to offer. You can kill my character, steal my gold, even kill my character's puppy and that's fine... it's only a game. But take my money and give me essentially nothing in return? That's against the rules.
If you plan on upgrading your account, do yourself a favor and buy it from your local video game retailer. That way, if your copy doesn't contain the codes you need, your refund is only a short drive away. While I do love Amazon and all the great buys it has to offer, I feel it's my civic duty to warn others about this crappy, crappy, CRAPPY piece of crappy crap. Thank you.

Good buy for UO players.

Not sure what problem the previous reviewer had, but I've purchased a couple copies to upgrade my accounts and haven't had any issues.

The upgrade is exactly what it says it is - access to new content, a couple gift items, and some extra bonus items for early buyers. If you're a UO player, and especially if you haven't upgraded for a while, it's a nice value.

[Edited to add: If you're not a current UO player, come on in. Still the best online gaming world out there despite the dated graphics.]

Love the new decor!

I love the new decor in this release. It is also nice that people aren't required to purchase it. The only thing you are buying is the ability to use new house tiles, a personal attendant and shadow and crystal house tokens. UNLESS you use your upgrade/promo code before December 4th (date subject to change) for which you will also get 9 Heritage Tokens.

Missing Codes!!!!!!!!

After spending 50 dollars on two of these i was so excited when they came. After opening them not one but BOTH! of my game manuals had no codes. Not only that I've had to call EA back 3 times to get them to help me with this. The only time i was helped is when they escalated the incident. EA has to make sure next time they release a game they all have the codes. They need to give people who were ripped off some speedy help getting new codes as well. After sending them pictures of the manuals I've been waiting over 10 days for them to update my incident. This is ridiculous.

I've played every Ultima since 1981 and have played Ultima Online for the last 9 years. It's the best game on the market, and my loyalty to it speaks more than any words I can give.

It's dynamic and robust, and I can play everything from a crafter and miner to a duelist to a field warrior to a moster basher to a role player and more. And I own my own piece of an island with houses and a dueling arena, etc.

It's a cool game.

Ultima Online's 9th Anniversary Collection tells players one fact right up front: Ultima Online (UO) is the longest running Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game there is.

UO in general offers several types of characters to choose from and dozens of skills that make each character template something unique. Players can choose to build themselves anything from a classic warrior to a stealth ninja, a wizard or a dark necromancer, or even just build a tailor to create unique pieces of armor to sell and trade with players from all around the world! Build and customize your home with classic building templates or unique building shapes of your own design! Craft clothing and armor to buy/trade/sell with other players! Join a guild for fun and social adventure to fight against powerful monsters, major quests, or even against other player-run guilds.

The 9th Anniversary collection offers players all seven expansion packs (including the never-released-on-CD/DVD "Mondain's Legacy" which introduced a new playable race: Elves!), new housing sets of crystals and shadow items, as well as new servants to help you in the home or announce your arrival to fellow players.

Ultima Online has a vast community of players around the world and there are ongoing plots leading up to the highly anticipated 10th anniversary in 2007. There are unique events run as well with an opportunity for players to collect highly sought after special items, clothes, and weapons.

I've played UO for 9 years and still enjoy it. The 9th anniversary has added only a few more upgrades, but it's still well worth playing if you enjoy MMORPG.

I was highly pleased at the shipping time, and the box and game were in good condition. I had no problems with the upgrade either!
