Innovative RPG gats a sequel

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 7 / 7

Don't pass off this game as a childish series, this is a great and original game.

The story is pretty good, and offers different new features from the original, like changing the type of megaman.

The battle system is differnt an unlike ALL RPGs. It has an isometric view and you chose your move(s) when the gauge fills up. This seems to make it similar to a card game, or strategy game because each move you pick needs to be well thought out, along with the cards in your folder.

It also features a two player battle mode and chip data trade.

Hardcore megaman fans may not like the fact that it is not a platformer (but Rockman* Zero is comming out this Augest), however fancises tire if they arn't changed, and capcom saw this so the created an alternate universe series. If these fans played this game more than 5 miniuts (most gammers will be turned off this game if they don't play it form the begining because it will be too confusing) they would enjoy capcom's little references to other games.

All in all, this game is excellent and very fun, well worth the purchase. It is a great alternate approch to one of the most famous mascots in the gaming industry. So, buy this game.

Graphics: 8.9
Sound: 9.5
Gameplay: 10
Replay: 8.1

What is immediately apparent about this game is that BN2 has something for everybody. It successfully combine the elements of an RPG, a platformer, and the 'collector' genre (ie Pokemon) into a neat, story-driven little package.

The interface is pretty slick- there aren't too many menus to navigate through, and although there isn't a quest journal, hints come in the form of 'e-mail', and your partner will let you know what you should be doing next at the touch of a button.

Combat is just plain fun. It takes place on a grid in cyberspace, and although you are confined to lateral movement only, you get a neat little bag of tricks from temporary power-ups called chips. Every few seconds, you can open up your chip folder and select another special power or combination thereof to use against the enemy- this is where long-time afficionados of the MegaMan series will find the powers of their fallen foes- Gutsman's and Roll's powers, for example.

Combat can be tricky, but since you are confined to lateral movement on a smallish grid, it is mostly a game of figuring out your opponent's attack patterns and then countering. Nonetheless, it is a load of fun and there seem to be tons of different enemies to toss a beating to.

The world itself is colorful, the characters are interesting, and the story itself, while of the Saturday morning cartoon variety, is still pretty interesting.

Although the game centers around the life of an elementary school kid as seems to be the current trend these days, you shouldn't let that fact alone drive you to relegate this title into the 'kiddie games' category- you'll be missing out on one of the best GBA games to date.

Megaman EXE returns to the Gameboy Advance in the sequel Megaman Battle Network 2. If you are familar with the gameplay of the first game, then the battle system of this game should be easy to learn. Some differences include: Megaman does not automatically replenish his HP after each battle, many more chips, Megaman is able to acquire elemental styles depending on how you use him in battle. As with the first, you can link with your friend's GBA to trade chips, styles, and battle! Retro chip traders also allows you to use link to another GBA with the first game inserted to trade old chips for new ones.

The story of this game is slightly darker than the first. Story events, while not involving direct physical violence except those like the ones depicted in the battle events, involve more evil villians who harm others more than in the first game. Mass destruction in the _computer world_ is also brought up in the game. I don't think this is a concern for most people, but if you're going to hand the game over to a four year old and then write an angry letter to ESRB and Capcom for the "E" rating when you find out, check out the game yourself first. I think it deserves an E rating for Everyone, but if you're more sensitive about what issues to expose to your child, play the game before you give it to them.

The characters have also evolved due to story events from the first game. This is good, since it makes sense to have characters interact slightly differently after you've saved the world in the first game. It also shows Capcom did not just copy and paste character dialogues from the first game and actually thought about how characters should grow and evolve.

The story continues from the first game. While it is not critical that you play the first game before picking up this one, it is recommended. Facts revealed from the first game's ending are used in this game. The regular cast of characters also have their introduction in the first game. The quality of the story is on par, if not even better than the first game. I think the story is a bit more realistic than the first. Our hero Lan Hikari is a little less sheltered than in the first game, encountering more dangers of his own, which makes the story more interesting.

This is a highly recommended game for fans of the first.

I have played many games for the GBA and this is the best of the lot it has a good story line with a amazing game play. It is interesting and there is talent involved. You can get a range of great attacks by using battle chips. There is loads of chips to collect which means that it has more than one target and more to do. This game has shown that capcom can make great games. Buy this game it is the best of the lot!!!!!!!
P.S It is not just for kids me and my friends have enjoyed it and we are 14 year olds

This Mega Man game is a game that you would never get bored playing! It's about this boy called Lan that lives in a world with advanced tegnology. Theres him in the real world, and his buddy [Mega Man] in the cyber world. In the real world, you can go to the subway station and go to different places, including the airport, battle other people, and theres even a place where people post there problems so other people [other people means you] can go and help them; if you manage to solve their problem, you get a reward. In the cyber world, which is the place where 98% of your missions take place, you can earn money by killing viruses that live in the cyber world,[you can also earn money from people that post their problems] and with the money you can buy subchips, that work for restoring your health and other things; or you can also buy just plain battle chips that work for killing, deleting viruses. You can get into peoples home pages, [that is if the people actually give you their code for their home page] which is sometimes useful for your missiones, and get into different places in the net. Even though i'm a girl, I think the game is a really nice game....

You jack into the barbecue at Oakydale Valley, then talk to the program that's to the far left. Then jack out and go to Nitopia, jack into Roal's Radio and get Nitopia Net. There should be a program nearby. Once you find it, jack out and go to the barbecue, jack into the barbecue and then talk back to the program to the far left. You might have to talk to it two times. This is my first time relaying instructions on line, so I hope I made myself clear.

this was one of the best games capcom has ever come out with. it's different from any game i've ever seen. i play megaman games alot and was geting tired of the same levels, bosses, enemys, and expecialy the two-d field. then i got this game and so far it's my favorite megaman game ever. it's a cross between final fantasy style and free style, my favorite types. so thats why i gave this game five stars

I must say when i got theses game i was shaking. In this megaman adventure u get to have a style change. EVEN the bad guys r kool except airman. U even get to have way more battle chips then in megamanbn1. What mostly suks about these game is that u don't get to vs sharkman or woodman or even skullman. But in megamanbn2 u get to vs snakeman shadowman gateman and... i told u enough navis. U even get to go 2 netopia. it seems that bad navis is every where. The coolest navie of all time is bass. even though he was fake.
