Probably the best preschool educational CD out there

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 8 / 8

I am a frequent buyer of CDs for my 4 year old daughter ( I brought this one for her when she was 3). I am amazed at the multitude of mathematical, logical and other educational aspects covered (including alphabets and english) - all by incorporating the learning experience as a game. My daughter all along thinks she is playing a game, but she has to imbibe all the lessons to play. The visuals are excellant. All activities come with configurable levels - depending upon the comfort level of the user. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

Great game for toddlers!

My 2.5 year old loves this game. I bought it when he just turned 2, but he couldn't use the mouse at that time and it was too advanced for him. I tried it 6 months later and he learned to control the mouse pretty quickly and has a lot of fun with the game. It has lots of nice songs and animations and is beautifylly done. It has two parts, the jungle which focuses on letters and phonics and the pool which focuses on numbers and shapes. Each side has 4 games. Each game has 3 levels. The child starts out at level 1 and when they get everything right, after a while it changes them to a more difficult level. You can always change levels manually too.

I'd definitely recommend this game to toddlers who are starting to show interest in letters and numbers and who can use the mouse.

Doesn't work well with Windows XP

Program doesn't run with Windows XP unless you give the user (a kid) administrative priviledges. First, who wants to have to change the priviledge setting, second, who wants a preschooler on the computer, able to make system changes. Granted, they shouldn't, but kids do have a tendency to click when able. I never ran this software for this reason. The seller knew this but did not make info available until after purchase. I will not buy from Amazon or seller again.

Unstable on XP systems

This was a VERY entertaining piece of software for my first 4y/o boy a couple of years ago, but re-installation of it for my next boy proved impossible on two separate XP systems. The software was written for win95 and apparently has not been updated. It can be found very cheaply, but odds are not good that it will work. Too bad, the animation and music are fabulous, probably the best for kids that age.

Love it!

I got this program for my oldest son when he was 3 and he learned so much from it. I was amazed when he was reading at 4! Hes now 8 years old and a A+ student. Im having to buy it again for my youngest child now and I cant wait to see results. It really is the best learning cd rom out there!
