Fantastic for 1994, still useful in 2006

This is what I believe to be the best of the early Humongous
Entertainment games *of that era*. Designed to fly on a 25MHz
386 its graphics obviously aren't comparable to more recent
games, but I think its educational value is still first rate.
For example, Putt-Putt has to chase down another character
in an apartment complex, and our child never realized she was
being drilled in grid co-ordinates in the process. This game
is of most value for younger children who will require the
assistance of a parent, given that parent enjoys observing
their child in clearly delineated mental tasks; memory of the
flashing light sequence that open the gate, the grid system,
co-operation in rocket assembly and the usual problem solving
inherent in these "Adventure" type games. This game was our
daughters favorite until Freddi Fish came along.

Writing this review reminded me of how much I enjoyed seeing
a shy 4 year old take control of a computer and expand her
mental capacity; I can't say that about more recent favorites,
such as the Final Fantasy series.

Not as good as the others

Definately an early attempt at the Putt-Putt series. Not as good as the later games, but o.k. if you are an avid fan.

According to my 5-year old kid, game is easy, and the graphics is a little bit poor (it's only VGA); as compared to "travel through time".

As a little one, I was obsessed with Put Put games. This one was one of my favorites. Sadly, I can't remeber how challenging it was or anything. But as a teen, I do remeber all the good times I had with this.

Exciting game for kids to let their imagination unfold. It provides a sense of suspense in the child's mind as they play, for they don't know what's gonna be next in the game. It's fun!!

I remember playing this when I was very young, and loving it! I have some very good memories from Putt-Putt games, especially Putt-Putt goes to the moon. I don't know what computers support this game now, though, so please find out if it runs on your computer before you buy it.

My 3 yr old grand sone likes it but I have to set up the video resolution before it will work. All of these games seem to be written by different people and none are very professional.

Graphics Are Poor Compared To Other Putt Putt Games.

My son loves Putt Putt. He has "Putt Putt Saves the Zoo", "Putt Putt Travels Through Time" and "Putt Putt Enters The Race"....all great games. Saves the Zoo is the only one where the game doesn't change each time you play it, but it's still a good game. I bought "Putt Putt Goes to the Moon" for my son for Christmas. We inserted the disc and got the game going. Well, as soon as he saw the graphics, he didn't like it. Pep looks totally different, and everything is cheap looking compared to the other Putt Putt games. If you never bought a Putt Putt game for your child, then this one should be fine. But if he or she already has Putt Putt games (or any of the other Humungous games like Freddi Fish or Pajama Sam, both I highly recommend byy the way), it will be hard for them to get past the difference in graphics. I even love playing these games with my child, but I can understand why it's not even appealing. I'm sure the game itself is great, as they all are, but I can't get past the graphics to even give this game a chance. I'm not going to give it only one star, though, because it probably is a good game in spite of it's appearance.

To old to play well

Putt Putt Goes to the Moon

We have almost every title that Humongous has made for Freddi the Fish, PJ Sam, and Putt Putt. This game must be one of the first because it plays like an antique. We have no problems with all the other games (one glitch on PJ Sam hopping to save Granny Apple) but this one is EXTREMELY jerky. My child can't even play it because it runs so bad. We haven't got Putt putt goes to the Zoo and now I am hesitant.

It's like comparing Steamboat Willy to Fantasia - that is how it plays. I say skip this one. I wish I had. We are on a Mac running in classic - since the games were first developed for Macs I expected it to run.
