Excellent RPG

When I was new to RPG's, I wasn't really hooked onto them. Then I bought Lunar Legend for my Gameboy Advance SP and I was immidiately taken in by the amazing story! The story is about a young "country boy" named Alex who wants to become a Dragonmaster. On his quest to do so, he travels with Luna, a songstress who is his close friend, Nash, a young "sorceror" who is a bit snobbish. Jessica, daughter of one of the four heroes, her boyfriend Kyle, a rogue bandit, and Mia, heir to the magic guild. On the journey Luna is kidnapped by the Vile Tribe, along with other Songstresses. As Alex tries to quicken his quest to become a Dragon master so that he can save Luna.

The gameplay is fun and entertaining. The battles have several options to choose from, which include manual or automatic. I prefer the manual to improve stratigic skills. The towns are fun to explore, and keep you well equipped (so long as you have money of course, which you obtain from battles). And in all it has about 30 hours of gameplay. I strongly reccomend this game to any RPG fan, or to any new RPG fans.

The best RPG for the Game boy advance

You read the title of my review and you may ask "Has this idiot played golden sun?" And yes I have. Golden sun is great, I love this game even more. Enough of the golden sun banter, lets talk about lunar legend. If you havent heard yet, This game is a slightly condensed version of the PS1 classic "Lunar Silver Star Story" I, myself have not played it (yet, I got it off on ebay a while ago and i wait in eager anticipation) so the only thing Im sure that they changed was the battle system. The game is transilated by Ubi-Soft not Working Designs so expect a much more faithfull, But less hillarious, transilation of the japanese diolouge. Now on to the game itself. The stoy is about a young boy named alex who dreams of being a dragonmaster like his hero, Dyne. When an eleite wizzard from the magic city of Vane arrives in his home town his dreams come true when he is asked to guide him. He, his freind Ramus, his sweetheart luna, and The wizzard Nash set of to the white dragon to start the quest to become a dragon master. I admit it starts out kinda lame, but after a while there are great plot twists, romamces, and betrayals that come upon our young hero alex. The battle system is nice. It is a normal turn based engine. The person with the highest speed goes first than it goes from there. A nice addition to the battles was a type of "Limit Break" meter(FFVII & FFVIII fans know what I am talking about)the only diffference is that instead of fillin up the meter by getting damaged, up you fill it up by attaking. The battles are random which is changed form the original. You used to be able to see the enemy and if youwanted to fight it, go for it. If you didint, RUN AWAY! The graphics have to be some of the best on the game boy advance. Especially in battles. The characters are very detailed and the spell effects are awsome. The animations are also very smoothe and great too look at. And the little anime style picture that comes on the screen when you do a "limit break" is awesome. My only beef with this game is that near the end the battles get repetitive and there are only 2 really difficult bosses in the game. One is very near to the biggining, the oter is (supprisingly) the final boss. But these are minor flaws that can be overlooked. If you want a pretty GBA game that delivers in graphics and story this is the one

good game but a bit too easy

I really enjoyed playing this game but I have to say it was a little too easy. It took me about 17 hours to beat it without any difficulty at all! This is coming for someone who isn't too good at RPGs and immensely struggles completing a Final Fantasy game. Most players won't have any difficulty progressing through the game and you've beaten it before you know it. Some of the nice aspects of this game is that it has a nice plot and good graphics for the GBA. I'd recommend this game for people who are just starting out with RPGs and could pick up this game to gain some confidence in playing this genre. It retails a little lower than an average GBA game so if you're a little low on cash and need an RPG to play, then you might want to consider getting this. However, I feel a lot of the better RPG players might get bored with the simplistic battle system and the ridiculously easy bosses.

Lunar Legend

A beam of light flutters down from the blue planet shining in the sky A gentle light like that of spring sunlight. Soon... green is born on the planet that had been covered in a desolate dead land. It was unmistakably the beginning of life. The cold dry wind became a gentle breeze. The dry land became moist. The goddess Althena, goddess of kindness, breathed life into this world of Lunar, and led the people. Blessed by Althena, the people lived a peaceful life by magic The people soon began worshipping Althena as a god and praying to her. The one who left his name in the people's souls. The one who lived protecting a small happiness with his name known to no one. Even on journeys of different ways, people live out their days the best they can. And day by day, a new story is carved into the history of the world. The story I shall tell tonight is one of these... Far away, in the time of eternity, now only the goddess tower knows the truth. a story of long ago..................
I loved Lunar legend mostly because it is a great story and I really love dragons so Nall was my favorite character but Lunar legend had 3 characters that were really funny Bandit Kyle, Jessica, and Nall!

I got this game to try to entertain me while serving on jury duty. I was suprised at how much fun it is and that it has a great plot. For only $20 new most places, this is a game everyone should own!

A good remake, but not quite as good as the original

Though Lunar Legend is a remake of perhaps one of the best RPGs in existence, in the remake, the characters simply have less development, the gameplay is not as intriguing nor as challenging, and the humor of the storyline has been stripped of its former self. The music in Lunar Legend stays true to its original soundtrack and the new graphics on the sprite animation is simply breathtaking, but some of the new additions to the game simply subtract from the game's former glory. If you have never played Lunar: The Silver Star Story (for PSone or Sega CD) then I would highly recommend purchasing this item, for while it is not as good as its origianl, the remake still captures the heart-filled story about a boy trying to save the girl he loves. If you HAVE played Lunar: The Silver Star Story, you MAY not want to, you will almost definately find yourself disapointed with the overall gameplay and adjustments made to the original, on the other hand, this will probably be the last chance you get to play through one of the last CLASSIC rpgs left in the gaming industry.

I miss the old Super Nintendo RPG, so I was happy when I found this game. It has good graphics, lots of puzzles. Everything a good RPG should have. I enjoy playing it. This is one of my favorite games.

Lunar Legend Rocks!

Lunar Legend is an awesome RP! The graphics in battle and cut scenes are really cool. The characters speak to each other (and their expressions change), and it makes you feel like you really know them. Plus, it's funny. The scenery, music and talking really emmerses you into the world. I was feeling depressed when Luna got kidnapped and happy when I beat the Magic Emperor. The battle technique is easy to use, and the dungeons weren't hard. The plot is complicated, but easy to follow. There's a lot of surprises. This was the first real RPG I've ever played (no, I haven't played Lunar: the Silver Star Story, to bad for me), and I loved it.

This is another great RPG for fans. It is probably one of the best (along the lines of the Golden Sun series). The storyline is very engaging and the graphics and characters are done beautifully. There is a secret level found in this game and probably will make video gamers want to play the game again.

Also, because this is on a handheld system, it is easy to play on the go. I found myself playing it for 10-15 minutes during breaks to level characters stats up. ^_^

Fun but too easy

I thouroughly enjoyed the first 10 hours of the game. The game is very reminiscent of the Final fantasy Series. The skills are interesting and so are the characters. The story is original and involving, it draws you in. The only gripes I have about this game is that it was too easy and some of the dungeons are so "mazey" that they are annoying. I don't like spending 2 hours in a dungeon becuase a map is needed to properly navigate it. My short term memory is not that good. The battles posed no challenge for me, none. Not even one boss battle, therefore, I never finished the game because I was dissapointed. If you don't mind an easy game, then pick this up. If you want a game that challenges you in the battles then stay away from this one.
